About: I have taken care of dogs of every kind from old to young since I was little. I have watched family dogs, and friends dogs both in the comfort of my own home and gone to spend the night at their houses. I’ve also trained my own dogs throughout the years, including potty training, simple commands, and crate training. I am currently working part-time at my job and stay home with my son. I am mainly home except for the weekends. And on the weekends, my husband will be home to help out. I have a fenced in yard and currently only have one dog of my own who is super friendly and very energetic so she will exercise your dog in our front yard. She loves to cuddle and she is crate trained. I also have an extra crate in case dogs need to be created for whatever reason.

About: I have over 25 years of experience watch dogs. The last two years I have been working with the See Eye Foundation as a Puppy Sitter. I sit for puppies 8 weeks to 13 years old, for a single day to over a week. I also have a 12 year-old English Fox Hound that likes to take me on walks/runs daily I am currently retired and this leave me plenty of time to take care of your dog. I am an avid runner and cyclist, so walking or even running with your dog is not a problem I do not have a fenced yard, but I have a 3-acre property where dogs can roam and run. I do have a 120 foot leash that lets the dogs run without fear of them running away. If your dog likes to play fetch or just do a lot of exploring, the yard is ideal for them. I am also available to do multiple daily check ins and walks if the dog prefers to stay at home.

About: Hello! I’m an experienced pet lover with over 5 years on Rover, caring for pets of all shapes and sizes. As the proud owner of two Great Danes, ages 1 and 2, I understand the needs of larger breeds, from daily exercise to specialized care. My experience with these gentle giants has taught me patience, attention to detail, and how to handle big personalities with ease. Whether you need someone to walk, feed, or simply keep your pets company, you can trust me to provide the care and love they deserve. Looking forward to meeting your furry family members! I work at schools and have a lot of flexibility in the summer to meet your needs. My experience with large breeds means I’m comfortable managing pets of all sizes, ensuring they get the exercise, companionship, and attention they need. I look forward to giving your pets a safe and caring environment while you’re away! Your pet’s safety and well-being are my top priorities during every visit, walk and stay. When caring for pets in their own homes, I ensure a safe environment by following your routines and respecting any special instructions you provide. I take precautions to make sure doors, gates, and other potential escape points are secure, and I always keep your pet on a leash during walks, using proper harnesses or collars to prevent accidents. I’m also vigilant about their surroundings to avoid any risks, such as unsafe plants, other animals, or traffic. Building trust with you and your pet is essential. I keep communication open, sharing updates and photos so you know how things are going and feel reassured that your pet is in good hands. With my flexible schedule, I’m able to dedicate time and attention to meet each pet’s unique needs, ensuring they feel safe, loved, and cared for even when you’re not there.

Sarah was excellent with Chase. She followed his routine carefully, communicated clearly, and handled everything with confidence. Chase is a senior tripod and needs a bit of extra support, and she managed his let‑outs, feeding, medications, and mobility needs without any issues. We had an unexpected power outage during our booking, and Sarah immediately stepped in with solutions to keep Chase safe and comfortable. She was flexible, dependable, and proactive throughout the entire situation. Chase was well cared for, and we felt completely at ease knowing he was with her. We will absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend.

About: I’ve always had pets as a kid, and the same as an adult! It’s a privilege to be able to care for my own “babies” and others ❤️ I have two cats and a dog, so my days are quite pet-oriented. The cats need a little less care than my dog, but they all get loved equally 🥰 I treat my animals extremely well, and other pets I treat like my own! All animals are important to love and care for, big or small 😇

About: I’ve cared for dogs of every breed, size, and energy level—from anxious rescues to giant goofballs. As a current volunteer at ACCT Philly, I work hands-on with all types of dogs daily, focusing on leash control, confidence-building, and reading body language. Friends and neighbors regularly trust me for overnight stays, multi-dog households, and high-energy pups because I stay calm, structured, and patient no matter what. I’m comfortable with puppy routines, senior care, and special diets, and I always make sure every dog gets the perfect mix of play, structure, and comfort. Whether it’s a jog around the block, a slow senior stroll, or bedtime snuggles—I tailor my care to your dog’s needs, not a one-size-fits-all plan. Pet care easily fits into my weekly routine. My schedule is flexible for walks, drop-ins, or overnights, and I make sure every pet gets consistent attention, playtime, and care. Whether it’s early mornings, lunch breaks, or evening cuddles, I’ll build my day around your pet’s routine. Safety and comfort always come first. In my home or yours, I make sure pets have a calm, clean, and secure space to relax and play. I follow each pet’s routine closely—feeding, walks, medications, and boundaries—so they feel right at home. I keep a close eye on body language and behavior to ensure they’re happy and stress-free, and I always send photo updates so you can see how well they’re doing. Whether it’s cats curling up for quiet time or dogs burning off energy, I create a safe, loving environment built on trust.

My dachshund, Daisie, and I love spending time outside, in my spacious 9 acre property. Looking forward to treating your pet with the same love and attention I’d treat my own. Tanuj did a wonderful job taking care of our elderly kitty Bubba. She took a visit to warm up to him, but once she realized that he was there to give her fishies, she was ALL about it. We got pictures and updates showing how she was doing which definitely made our time away from her loads easier. Thanks heaps Tanuj! 🐾

About: I’ve taken care of dogs (and cats!) of all sizes for the past decade+, becoming my friends and family’s first call Walker and sitter! Whether an afternoon walk while you’re at work, or on vacation and I stay with your pet on your houseboat, I’d love to be your first call as a sitter! As a freelance musician/writer/creative with an ever evolving schedule, walking and sitting is the perfect way to fill the gaps in my schedule, while also having the added benefits of hanging out with dogs :) Along with direct observation from hanging out with your pet, I find the best thing is to have a conversation about your pets needs, safety, typical schedule, and how you like to take care of them before the first walk/sitting. Additionally, notes outlining these things are appreciated!

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was little. We raised chickens and horses and I spent a lot of time working for my family’s wildlife education business. I feel comfortable working with every animal and approach all of them with compassion. I am especially receptive to older animals and can administer any kind of meds and/or routine they need. Exotic pets would be allowed in my home if you can accommodate. We would love to invite cats and dogs, but Mr. Kitterz would not like that! Feel free to read about him below! Evan and I would love to care for pets after our day jobs. We are available weekdays after 4:30 pm and then all day on weekends! We offer compassionate companionship, love, and any required medication services. There’s nothing we wouldn’t do for your furry or fluffy or even skaley friend! (:

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Washington stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Washington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Washington with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Washington. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
