“Shawn & Melissa responded quickly to our inquiry about a meet and greet for our 10 year old Lab (Cooper) and Melissa was very warm and welcoming for both the meet and greet and his overnight stay. She did and excellent job of communicating and responding to any questions or concerns and sent pictures during Cooper's stay. You can tell Shawn and Melissa and their girls, Alli & Zoey, love dogs and are quite comfortable with them in their home. We will definitely have Cooper stay with Shawn and Melissa in the future.”

“Coconut loved David and Shelly’s place so much, he looked upset coming home :). David sent us pictures during Coconut’s stay and he looked like he had tons of fun! Thanks so much David and Shelly :)”

“This was my first time using Rover and the first time leaving my pup with someone who wasn’t family for a whole week and Stacy was amazing! I received constant updates and pictures with how she was doing and what she was up to which definitely put this anxious dog momma’s heart at easy. I will absolutely be booking with her again, and you should too!”

“We have used Emily and her lovely family to care for our senior dog on 2 different occasions and we will not hesitate to reach out again if needed. They have been so flexible and kind both times. I appreciate the great and timely communication. It can be a little nerve wracking leaving an older dog (with some issues) but Emily made us feel very comfortable! 10/10 recommend!”

“Sarah is absolutely wonderful. She and her family invited my pup into their home and treated him like he was one of their own. She kept me up to date on how he was doing, sent lots of pictures, spoiled him with treats, and allowed him to get comfortable in her home. I’ll absolutely have Sarah watch my pup again when I need a sitter.”

“Derek was very thoughtful and had great communication! He was very flexible and accommodating when our flight was delayed and we had to pick up later than anticipated. Our pups were well cared for.”

About: I’ve lived my whole life with at least one pet in the house and shared responsibility in caring for him or her. I took in my own pupper, Benji, in the summer of 2020 as a 4-month-old puppy and trained him myself. My husband and I also have a precious cat named Princess who rules the roost :) We love our fur family, and I/we can’t wait to love on yours! I work a regular 8-5 job that has some flexibility in the morning and afternoon (I can come in later and leave earlier if I need to). I’m free most evenings and weekends. I can take care of pets in my apartment for a short period, but they have to be ok with cats and dogs. I have a cat tree and a litter box, and I take my small dog on a walk 3x a day. I would do the same or more for my clients. I also expect my clients to line out any needs and rules for me in their homes and/or for their pets so I can take care of them as desired.
“Nathan is fantastic! He sent pictures and videos throughout and my pup seemed to have a blast! He went to a dog bar, played with neighborhood kids and even helped with yard work.”

About: We have been owners of a golden retriever for 6 years and are experienced with the needs of dogs. I have also watched friends dogs many times while they were out of town. I'm a homeschooled mom who will have a lot of time during the day to give your dog love and attention. My own dog spends lots of time outside enjoying fresh air and squirrels. I have a fenced yard and can take your pup on regular walks. My kids and I love animals and will be happy to cover scratches and cuddles while you're at work or out of town
“Michelle and her kids were great with Axel. She was very patient with him being nervous around her toddler. I would definitely book with her again, my dog had a great time, especially cause he hates being alone! Michelle, her kids and the other dogs she sits were great company to him.”

“Danae was amazing! I was totally comfortable leaving Maggie with Danae. I appreciated all of the updates that Danae provided and the pictures that she sent. Maggie takes a while warming up to new people and Danae was so patient and understanding. Will definitely book with Danae again when we need her.”

“ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! First time using Rover and didn’t know what to expect. Staci was quick to respond, flexible with our crazy travel times, and even picked up and dropped our puppy off. We loved getting photo updates while we were away. We could tell when we picked our puppy up how happy she had been the entire time. We will 100% be reaching out to Staci again.”

“Ashley and Kyle were amazing with Layla! It was my first time leaving her with a pet sitter, and they completely exceeded my expectations. They kept me updated with a lot of photos and messages throughout her stay, which really put my mind at ease. I could tell Layla was well cared for and happy the entire time. I would absolutely trust them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and caring sitters.”

“Amy was great with our 14 week old Basset Hound pups. She sent us pictures of the girls everyday of them having a gray time. We highly recommend Amy if your looking for someone to watch your pet for the day or an entire week. We’ll definitely use her again in the future Kevin Peters”

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
