“Shawn and Melissa took great care of my Pug. He had a great stay, and it was such a nice touch to receive photos of my little guy having a fun time. I also appreciated Shawn and Melissa’s flexibility to accept my reservation with just one day’s notice. I can’t thank them enough for their expert care and for helping me out in a pinch! I wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again.”
“Dave and Shelly are a top notch Rover family. We can tell they have good basic “dog-sense.” They treat each dog like their own. We appreciate their calm, loving, safe home for our dog.”

“We had such a wonderful experience with Jordan and Jon. We are so thankful we found them to watch our dog, Koda! ❤️ From the moment we dropped him off, we could tell he was going to be in great hands. They sent us so many updates and pictures, and it was clear how much love and attention he was getting. Koda came home happy and clearly had a great time! They were incredibly kind, attentive, accommodating, and made the whole experience so easy and stress-free for us. We will definitely be reaching out to them again whenever we’re in town. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and highly recommend to anyone!!”

“Sarah is absolutely wonderful. She and her family invited my pup into their home and treated him like he was one of their own. She kept me up to date on how he was doing, sent lots of pictures, spoiled him with treats, and allowed him to get comfortable in her home. I’ll absolutely have Sarah watch my pup again when I need a sitter.”

“First time using a dog sitter and I honestly couldn’t have asked for better experience!!! He sent us lots of pictures and updates on how the dogs were doing while we were away.”

“Katrina and Kevin took such great care of our dog. She was spoiled with walks, car rides, trips to the park and even a pup cup from Starbucks! Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dog sitter. Will definitely rebook in the future!”

“We’ve left our dog with Staci on two occasions now, and both times she has been extremely flexible and responsive, and has taken excellent care of our sometimes difficult to handle pup! It’s clear that Staci really loves dogs and treats them well. We’re looking forward to using her services again in the future!”

“Derek was AMAZING. Literally couldn’t ask for a better person to take care of our dogs. He was so attentive and thoughtful. He had thorough communication. We received daily updates and photos. Gus and Daisy already miss their new best friend Derek. We will definitely be seeing him again really soon! 10/10”

“Kobe enjoyed his time with Jamie and her family! He got a nice sized glider and a backyard to run around in. A family of 4 to love and care for him the whole time! They took him on plenty of walks. Jamie sent me photos and videos throughout the day showing how much fun kobe was having. I would use Jamie again and highly recommend!”

“We were not disappointed. Bethany and her family gave our husky great care while we were away. We got frequent updates and pictures. It gave us a lot of comfort knowing our dog was in good hands while we were traveling. My 4 year old loved seeing the pictures of what Koda was doing that day. Would book again!!!”

“Ryleigh was great. She's a genuine animal lover. She boarded my kitty for a week and everything went smoothly. She sent photo updates, which was greatly appreciated since I was pretty nervous about sending my cat off to be boarded for the first time. I will definitely reach out and have her board my cat again if the situation arises. Thanks Ryleigh!”

“Jamie and Daniel were very nice and accommodating. We'll prepared with note cards of the dogs info and apple air tags for the dogs. Sent daily pics of the dogs. Would definitely use them again.”

“Michael, Lindsey and family were wonderful! We were hesitant to leave our less than 5 month old rescue with anyone but had this trip booked long before he landed with us. They sent so many pictures and it was obvious our little Fig was so loved in our absence. We will definitely use this family again! It made traveling much less stressful for us. Thank you!”

“My dog Juno is new to us and so nervous about being left. Infinity took extra time to help her eat when she was anxious and to let her play with other pups to help ease her mind. Thanks so much!”

“Great, great, great, people who take amazing care of our dog. The booking was somewhat last minute, but Ashley and Kyle were very accommodating. We are so thankful they are part of our dog’s life, and we trust them 100% with our dog anytime we need to be away.”

About: Hello friends! I am currently working part-time delivering babies at Bryan East, and looking for some extra part-time income doing something I love-hanging out with your fur babies. I personally had many dogs growing up, and my sweet Rikki girl passed away last year. So, I’m looking to help some other folks take care of their pups. I am an outdoor enthusiast- I love to hike, backpack on tough trails, bike, run races, swim, etc. I’m interested in boarding at our home, or pop-in visits. It would be no problem for me to walk your animals or take them to potty outside in any weather condition. My schedule at work is 12-hour shifts, and changes from week to week. So, I'm pretty flexible if you need me. Just contact me and we can definitely work something out. Looking forward to cuddling and loving your animals!
About: I have been around dogs my entire life. Owning my own for the past 3 years. I have gone through 2 years of dog training to be the best pet parent I can be and would now like to use my skills to help others. I am a full time teacher during the day. At night I enjoy spending time at home, walking if it is nice weather, and cuddling with my furry friends. I live in an apartment setting, so safety is my utmost priority. I ensure that the dogs I care for are on a leash, under my supervision at all times outside. Indoors we keep all doors shut to eliminate any unwanted messes.
About: With hands-on experience working at Kenl Inn in Lincoln, NE, I’ve gained valuable experience caring for dogs and providing them with the attention, patience, exercise, and love they deserve. I am available throughout the week and weekends to care for your furry family! I will prioritize your pets needs and comfort while you are away. Whether your pet stays in my home or I care for them in yours, I provide personalized, loving attention based on their individual needs and routine. I make sure they receive fresh food and water, exercise, playtime, potty breaks, medication when needed, and plenty of love and companionship. I also keep their environment clean, safe, and comfortable so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cheney
Jordan and Jon were awesome. They cared for my two golden mountain doodles and made them feel at home. One of my dogs tends to be very anxious, but these guys welcomed him and Hutch calmed down and had a great time. J and J kept me informed about how they were doing, they were so accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend them.
Michael and Jamie are the sweetest and nicest couple. They send pictures everyday and tell all the fun the dogs have each day. They truly exceeded my expectations of caring for my baby. If you want high quality care and extra love for your fur baby then I highly recommend this family.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Cheney home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Cheney.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Cheney sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
