“Penelope, Franco and their kids have taken my Remi into their home and made her part of their family. Whenever I leave her with them so we can go away, I can really relax because I know Remi is with a wonderful, loving family”

“Paulina was a wonderful pet sitter!!! My kitten felt so safe and at home with her that she didn’t want to leave! Her home is full of love and she will take wonderful care of any pet. Thank you Paulina!!!”

“As always cant say enough great things. Bella immediately started wagging her tail when we arrived and was welcomed with a whole lotta love! Ty Angela for always giving Bella another place to feel at home when we're away. See you next time!!!”

“Gina is such a kind and wonderful person. My dog caused her a bit of trouble, but she handled it with patience and care. She has been informing me every day about everything that happened with my dog.”

“She went above and beyond for our dog Oree! We had to travel to Raytown Missouri for a funeral. Oree had separation anxiety and was not easy to deal with but Kylie went out of her way to accommodate Oree and make her feel comfortable and safe! I'm truly grateful because we were so worried! Thankyou Kylie we truly appreciate you!”

“Fantastic!! And, so excited to have found the perfect place for my girls, Goldie and Lily❣️ They were exactly what I needed, caring and calm. Perfect yard for exploring and playing! Quiet and peaceful home. I highly recommend!”

“She took such great care of my pup, making sure he felt comfortable and right at home even while away from me. He came back completely exhausted in the best way possible from all the fun he had, and now he’s getting some well-deserved rest. I was also so grateful for the photo updates she sent along the way to keep my mind at ease. I’ll definitely be reaching out to her again next time I need a sitter”

“We are grateful for Yovana’s services. First she accepted our request on short notice and took great care of our dog, keeping us abreast with regular messages and pictures. She exudes confidence. Our dog is not neutered and shows aggressive attitude when meeting another dog for the first time. Although we were apprehensive at the first encounter, Yovana was calm and knew exactly what to do to cause both dogs to befriend each other. When we came back to pick up Arrow, he was inseparable from the other dog. We were so impressed that we would like to bring him more often, even when we are not out of town. Thank you Yovana.”

“Amanda is the absolute best! She takes such good care of our little dog like she’s part of her family. Daily walks and frequent pictures she sends of our dog’s adventures let us know she’s in great hands while we are away. She’s wonderful!”

“This is Merlin’s third time staying at Vicki’s. I know my baby will be well taken care of and I have nothing to worry about. Vicki is really good at sending updates and pics”

“Thank you so much for hanging out with our boy and taking such good care of him! Roscoe loved being with you! And the bath you gave him was greatly appreciated. See you again soon!”

“Britteny is wonderful! She responded promptly, was able to pick up Bubble and asked questions to make sure she knew what all was needed for her. She sent a ton of pictures and bubble came back very happy!”

“Our 2-yr-old mixed doodle boarded with Anamika for 13 nights. He is often anxious with new humans, but he was far less so with Anamika and her family. They were careful to ensure a calm meet and greet and gave our dog time to explore before introducing their husky. Their back yard is quite large, with plenty of things to sniff and be curious about, and our dog played well with their husky throughout his stay. Anamika was agreeable to our dental hygiene, brushing, and food requests, and he looked relaxed in the daily pictures she sent. She has a 2-dog limit on how many she boards, which was a good sign as to the quality of care and environment she could provide for our dog, who is overwhelmed at doggie daycares. Every dog and family is different, but I feel like we finally found a good fit. This is our 4th experience with boarding in a home, and it is the best one we have had.”

“As always my little fella loved staying at Liying’s house. She and her husband took care of my puppy so well. We had no stress at all. She was very good with updates to ease my mind. Thank you again. 😊”

“Monika was so great at taking care of Peanut. She sent lots of photos and videos and kept us updated on how peanut was doing, she also went above and beyond for his care. Peanut had an upset stomach during part of his stay and Monika cooked fresh chicken and gave him probiotics which helped him. Peanut also had a great time there. The best rover experience we've ever had!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
