About: Charleston local with a passion for animals and extensive experience caring for dogs of all shapes and sizes. I grew up with German Shorthair Pointer, Gretchen, and a Springer Spaniel named Molly. My mother had a 20 pound schnoodle, Henry, who stays with me 2-3 times a week. My place is on 12 acres of land on Wadmalaw Island, a doggy paradise for breeds that require extensive off-leash exercise and freedom. I work from home and can be flexible, ensuring that pets get all the care, attention and exercise needed to ensure the are as happy as possible while their owner is away I live on 12 acres where dogs can be off leash if allowed. At a client’s home I’m happy to provide any care necessary for a pet

“Tonya did an awesome job taking care of our 2 pups. She was very conscientious and followed all instructions. She was attentive (especially with one pup that had special, medical needs), took pictures and sent detailed reports. We will definitely use her again.”

“Brandi is always so reliable and when I had a last minute trip I had to plan, her and I worked within her schedule to have her complete drop in visits with my boys. I always appreciate her attention to them and my boys love having her as their sitter!”

“This was the second time Graham has taken care of our pups and he did an excellent job again. We are very happy that we have found him through Rover and will definitely use him again in the future.”

“Tara took such wonderful care of my two cats while I was out of town for the holidays. Both of my cats seemed super comfortable with her from the first visit. I booked drop in visits and she went above and beyond to make sure that they were both well taken care while I was gone. She made sure to send me lots of pictures and communicated any questions or concerns when necessary, which I really appreciated. This was my first time using Rover, but I will definitely be booking with Tara again in the future!”

About: Hi, I’m Sandi! As a lifelong animal lover and experienced pet owner, I understand how stressful it can be to leave your home and beloved pets in someone else’s care. My goal is simple: to give you complete peace of mind while you’re away. I’ve spent years rehabilitating and helping stray animals of many different species, along with caring for my own pets, including senior cats with strict medication schedules. Because of that experience, I understand that every pet has unique needs, personalities, and routines. Whether your pet requires medications, extra patience, playtime, special feeding instructions, or simply a familiar routine, I take those responsibilities seriously. When caring for your home, I treat it with the same respect and attention to detail that I would expect for my own. I can provide pet feeding, medication administration, litter box maintenance, mail and package collection, plant care, trash and recycling management, home check-ins, and regular updates (with pictures included) so you always know your pets and property are doing well. You’ll be happy to know that I’m often praised for my problem-solving abilities and excellent communication. I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and genuinely take pride in creating a safe, comfortable environment for both pets and homeowners. I know that trust is everything in this line of work, and I work hard to earn it. If you’re looking for someone who will care for your pets with kindness and your home with respect, I’d love to connect and see how I can help make your life easier! Thanks for reading. Chat soon :) Animal care has been part of my everyday life for years. My flexible schedule allows me to be available during times when many sitters are not, including daytime hours, extended visits, and last-minute care needs when availability permits. Because I spend much of my time working from home and managing my own schedule, I can provide a higher level of attentiveness, communication, and consistency than someone limited to evenings and weekends. This flexibility is especially beneficial for senior pets, pets requiring medication, or animals that thrive with extra companionship and routine. Providing dependable, compassionate care isn’t something I squeeze into my schedule. It’s something I intentionally make time for every day. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I strive to keep their routine as consistent as possible. Pets are often most comfortable in familiar surroundings, so I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, exercise and enrichment preferences, and any household guidelines provided by the owner. I pay close attention to behavior, appetite, water intake, litter box habits, and overall well-being so that I can quickly recognize any changes that may need attention. For cats especially, I understand how important routine and a low-stress environment can be. I maintain a clean and secure environment by keeping food and water areas tidy, cleaning litter boxes regularly, ensuring doors and windows remain secure, and removing any obvious hazards. I also treat every home with the utmost respect and can assist with mail collection, plant care, trash and recycling management, and general home check-ins. Communication is a top priority. I provide regular updates and photos so owners can relax knowing their pets are safe, comfortable, and receiving attentive care while they’re away. I never view pet sitting as simply feeding and leaving.. I spend quality time interacting with each pet so they receive companionship, enrichment, and attention in addition to their basic care needs.
About: From handling cats, handling reptiles, training my own puppy, handling small and big dogs, I am happy to check on you babies while you are away. I work full time at home but I am happy to check in on your baby before work, during my break, and after work if need be. I have a fenced in yard with a mastiff dog and an orange tabby cat. The fence does have open slots that a smaller dog could get out from.
“My sweet old potato is very particular about who is around him and he LOVED Jonathan! Absolutely wonderful experience. We will definitely be booking again. He went above and beyond and sent me pictures of every visit to make sure everyone was happy and thriving while we were away.”

About: I’ve gained experience the last few years in taking care of our German Shepherd, Luna and sweet kitty, Cookie! I always dog sit for friends when they’re out of town and I’ve learned how to give pills to dogs. One of my friend’s dogs has allergy problems and has to take pills for it, so she had to teach me how to do that. I love playing fetch and taking dogs on walks! I also wouldn’t mind giving your dog a bath (or taking him/her to the pet store to bathe them there!). Feel free to message me with any questions you might have! I am available every day after 4:00 and every weekend as needed. I have a flexible schedule and have a good amount of free time. I will make sure your animal or animals get the care they need and make sure they are well taken care of no matter what!

About: "I believe pets are family, and I treat every animal I care for as my own. With 6 years of professional pet sitting and fostering experience, I am deeply comfortable managing multi-pet households, including cats and dogs living together. I understand that cats often need a more gentle, patient approach, and I'm highly experienced in administering [e.g., daily insulin injections, oral pills, fluid therapies] and maintaining clean, stress-free environments. I'm dependable, detail-oriented, and dedicated to giving your fur babies the best possible care." I work Monday-Friday till 4:30 and have some time in the mornings/evenings to take care of your pets. I have weekends off to spend and can even stay in home with the animals. I follow the owners house rules and I listen to the animals on their needs. If the owners have a schedule I will follow. I do light house cleaning daily or as needed.
About: Hi! I’m Katelyn, and I’ve been an animal lover my entire life. I have a huge soft spot for dogs of every breed, size, and personality, and I truly treat every pet I care for like they’re my own. 🐾 I’ve grown up around dogs and have hands-on experience caring for dogs with all different personalities and needs, including shy, reactive, anxious, and dogs with challenging or aggressive behaviors. I understand that not every dog warms up immediately, and I’m comfortable being patient, learning their boundaries, and earning their trust at their own pace. I’m also not afraid of a challenge! I’m happy to reinforce existing training, work on basic manners and commands, and stay consistent with any routines or training methods you already use at home. I love getting to know what makes each dog unique and figuring out what helps them feel comfortable and confident. Whether your dog is an energetic puppy who needs lots of exercise, a shy pup who needs some extra patience, or a senior who would rather spend the afternoon cuddling, I’m happy to adjust my care to what they need. I know how stressful it can be to leave your pet with someone new, so communication is really important to me. You can expect plenty of pictures and updates so you know your pet is safe, happy, and getting lots of love while you’re away! 🤍 I have a super flexible schedule! I work remotely so I am able to make plenty of time for your pet! I’m happy to work around their normal routine as much as possible, whether that means walks, potty breaks, meals, playtime, or just keeping them company. I want them to feel as comfortable and cared for as possible while you’re away. Every pet is different, so I’m happy to follow any instructions you provide regarding feeding, walks, medications, routines, training, or behavioral needs. I’m very attentive to each pet’s personality and boundaries, especially with shy, anxious, or reactive dogs. Their safety and comfort will always be my priority, and I’ll treat your home and your pet with the same care and respect I would my own.
About: I have been a vet tech for 14 years now and I absolutely love the work I do. Unfortunately, being a single mother doesn't allow me to fully commit to veterinary clinic hours. I am starting up my own mobile pet service business called Pampered Pet. I provide excellent pet care along with other services such as nail trims, sanitary and paw shave, baths and more. I will give your fur-baby lots of love and attention so you can rest your mind knowing your pet is in great hands. If there happens to be an emergency situation while I am there, I know what steps to take and have veterinarian contacts on hand. I am committed to all my clients and their fur-babies. Please contact me with any questions. I look forward to meeting you and your fur-baby. I currently run my own business so I will have plenty of time to give your fur baby the attention and loving they deserve while you are away. We are working on a fence at the moment. Your pup will love playing with my sweet yellow lab. If needed, I can always put my dog in his kennel. I do not foresee that happening though.
About: I’ve been an animal lover my whole life and began taking care of my family pets at an early age. People always thought I’d turn out to be a vet, and while I didn’t go that route in school, I still adore spending as much time caring for animals as I can! I’ve taken care of dogs of all ages from pup to senior as well as dogs with special medical requirements. I was even hired a couple of times to drive down to Florida to dog sit for several weeks! I also have experience taking care of cats. I’m reliable, trustworthy, flexible, and dedicated to loving all fur babies as if they are my own! I work full-time on Johns Island, so I’m available for early morning and evening walks as well as in-house care, as long as your pets are okay being left alone during the day. I love to spend my time going on walks, exploring, working out, reading, and watching my favorite TV shows. I have found the best way to bond is to spend as much time with animals where they are most comfortable. I love anything from cuddling up together with a good book or movie, taking a walk around the neighborhood, or going for a drive and maybe even making a pit stop at the dog park. I have experience caring for cats of all ages, young dogs, senior dogs with disabilities, and dogs with special medical needs (e.g. following a strict medicine/dietary regimen). I’ve also cared for multiple dogs/pets in a household. Your wish is my command!
“Where to begin?! My 3.5 yr old goldendoodle failed his temperament test at a local dog boarding place just a few weeks before my vacation. In a panic, I hopped on Rover. Come to find one of my former students, Athena! It was a NO BRAINER to have her do drop-in visits while I was away. Fredo IMMEDIATELY grew a liking to her. She *always* had such a kind, compassionate, and nurturing energy about her. She went ***ABOVE AND BEYOND*** and truly superseded our expectations!!! The constant picture and video updates definitely tempered the sting of the dog mommy separation anxiety! …I think my dog was even annoyed when I got home because he knew that meant Athena’s job was done ?. Choosing her as a sitter for your pet(s) is the BEST thing you can do for you and your furry fam!!!!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
