About: I am a female in her 30’s who just moved to the area and has had experience with caring for dogs and animals back near my hometown. In the past I have dog-sat my sisters 2 cockapoos for 6 or more years as she traveled for work. Through rover I was able to drop in for Pierre and had a great relationship with him and his owner. I have done drop ins to feed both cats and dogs and am comfortable with both. I am very respectful of the clients home and strictly follow any protocols put in place. I leave everything in the same order as it was found and make sure the animal is safe. I am currently flexible with availability as I just moved to the area but am looking for full time work so availability could change. I am open to mornings, evenings, and weekends and can work around schedules. I typically care for pets at the client's home rather than my own. My previous apartment situations have not allowed pets so I haven't been able to care for pets at my own residence.

Our 2,000 square ft ranch with fenced in backyard is located in a quiet sea coast community two tenths of a mile from the water and open fields. I have high energy, really enjoy taking dogs on long walks along the beach, wooded areas and residential communities.

For context, I have three very diverse and frankly difficult dogs, and they all adore her. From my very reactive Dachshund, to my wildly playful young terrier, to my much older and rather morose dog with Cushings disease, Tara manages all of their multiple issues with great care. Tara also knows Martha’s Vineyard like the back of her hand, and she is able to navigate the island so as to provide dogs with a variety of great walking experiences, while avoiding the kind of summer traffic that could make a less experienced person late for appointments, etc. She always lets me know how the dogs are during the visit, and she is careful to inform me if she observes anything unusual about the dogs, house, or yard. Tara is also very comfortable with dogs who need medication and/or special care, as well. I trust her implicitly, and I just cannot recommend her highly enough. She is fantastic across the board!”

About: I am that person who will walk into a party and say hello to the dog before the person... I have been around and working with dogs my entire life. I am patient with all breeds, sizes, and dogs with different levels of training and have been dog walking/dog sitting since I was a kid. I own a 9yr old boxer mix named Finn; I have done all of his training myself and I also help my friends with their dogs! I love to learn about and watch dog behaviors, which I believe allows me to walk, play, and interact with all dogs better! I would very much like to meet you and your dog and help you out in any way that I can. I work part time so I am available at various times to come walk you dog or give them a drop in visit. I have also had my dog, Finn, his entire life, so dog things are pretty routine to me. I always take care to hold leashes in a way that I won’t drop them and they won’t be pulled out of my hands. I don’t let other dogs greet who I’m walking, you never know how the other persons dog will act.
