“Clarissa is THE BEST. She is the only person we will use to watch our two doggos when we are out of town or away for a date night. weve taken short weekend trips, an evening away and now have an upcoming full week out of town - and we can only do it because she does so well with them. Highly recommend!”

“I had an absolutely wonderful experience! It gave me so much peace of mind knowing the pups were being loved and cared for while away. She was dependable and treated Chase and Recci like they were her own. It’s clear she truly loves animals, and that makes all the difference. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Alexandra did an excellent job taking care of our cat while on vacation! She did everything we asked related to his care and routine, and even found his hiding places and sent us pictures!”

“Caron has just started walking my 2-year-old GSP mid-day, and I love how attentive and caring she is. This is the first time Woody has had a "sitter" since the pandemic, and she is the perfect caretaker for him. She is very communicative, and always gives me an update after she's been over.”

“My dog took to her instantly and it’s apparent Caitlyn has been around animals. She’s very attentive to dogs needs. I feel grateful I found her. She spent a lot of time with me and Bella at the meet and greet.”

“Gina was wonderful, once again, with our Grace! She takes the time to pet and play with her, and looks out for our home while we are away. Her care is top notch. Grace loved her time with Gina, and really adores her! We will use Gina again in the future!!”

About: I've been fostering puppies locally since 2022. All the effort and mess (let's be real) is worth it for puppy breath and dog snuggles. I prioritize socialization and I can reinforce basic skills. We have lots of toys and play outside too. I stay at home so I have lots of time to provide care and attention. I am not away from the house for more than an hour or so, for any dogs that need close attention. I have a fenced back yard and a dedicated room inside the home. I have a pen, a large crate as well as a medium crate.
“Erika is amazing! She is so kind and an excellent communicator. My baby Gaga is happy and safe with her. I am comforted at work knowing Erika is coming over to care for her! 💜🤩”

“Jessica was amazing with our dogs for drop in care while we were at Disney. I was not expecting her to send pictures and videos of the dogs so that was so nice to get live updates. She was very accommodating, and so professional. If you’re looking for a dog sitter and need someone on base then look no further. We will be booking her again this summer and we will have zero worries about our fur babies because we know they will be well taken care of.”

“Kelsie is an absolute dream! Her communication is always warm, prompt, and professional. While we were away, she took incredible care of our two cats—sending daily updates with adorable pictures, making sure they had plenty of love, attention, and even some special treats beyond the usual routine. It was clear they felt safe and happy with her and her family. Kelsie didn’t stop there—she also watered our plants, brought in the mail, and kept everything in the house tidy and well cared for. She even went out of her way to alert us to a situation with our home, which we really appreciated. Knowing she was there gave us total peace of mind, and we came home to a house that felt calm and cared for. We are so grateful to have found Kelsie—she went above and beyond in every possible way. I can’t recommend her highly enough, and we would absolutely love to book with her again in the future!”

“Alexis was very flexible and kept us up to date. We had to make last minute changes to our travel plans and she worked with us very well. She took very good care of our little pup :) Thank you Alexis!”
About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I’ve been walking and caring for dogs for over 9 years, and I currently share my home with six animals of my own, so I truly understand how much our pets mean to us—they’re family. I absolutely love both dogs and cats and enjoy spending time with animals of all personalities, sizes, and energy levels. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing outside, or just needs a calm companion, I’m happy to match their pace and make sure they feel safe and cared for while you’re away. Because I’m a pet parent myself, I know how important it is to have someone you trust caring for your animals. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always focus on keeping them happy, safe, and comfortable. I’m reliable, attentive, and love sending updates and photos so you can feel at ease knowing your pet is having a great time. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family members! 🐶🐱 I'm currently working part time two days a week as a registered nurse. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my own pets and volunteering at Panhandle animal welfare society in their clinic, recovering dogs and cats after spay/neuter surgery, as well as walking dogs. When I am caring for your animals, I will be focused on their needs 100%. I've been caring for animals in foster, at the shelter where I volunteer and at my home for the last nine years.

About: I've owned dogs from a young age, ever since I was old enough, I took care of them as well. I have had dogs of all ages from a pup to their golden years, of all different breeds. I do have base access as well to take care of your military pets Currently at home from college so I'll have plenty of time should make multiple visits and potentially stay for extended hours as well. Making me a great option if you're leaving for an extended vacation as well. I am pretty easy going with my pups, but I will follow all guidance to take care of your pets the same way you would.
“Tyeshia helped us with our puppy for a couple weeks and she made the biggest impact! It is apparent that she cares about our baby girl just as much as we do! Her updates were informative and thorough, and overall communication was a huge plus. She even brought her own treats and water bowl, going above and beyond. 10/10 recommend Tyeshia to help your family, she will not disappoint. We will be booking again in the future!”

About: I am currently studying Biology with a Pre-Med focus. As an owner of three older dogs, I have had the experience of raising them up. I enjoy investing all my time in to giving them happy lives. I volunteer at the animal shelter and have gained much knowledge from how to properly care for animals. I have been pet sitting for a few years now, and I enjoy walking dogs anytime I can! I will provide my services for your animals! I am currently an offseason student-athlete. I am very open to walking dogs anytime of day. I typically walk dogs in early morning or evenings due to heat. I am widely flexible! I care for pets in a careful and loving way. I understand the expectations of each client, and their care needs. I will give them exercise and care.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Valparaiso
First time using Rover, and Astrid was wonderful watching our puppy while we were gone for a night! She really explained how everything worked and was really patient when it came to our potty-training puppy. She took so many photos and in-depth reports on her visit, which we loved getting while we were away. Would definitely recommend!

Once again, William saved the day and eased my anxiety! He is hand down THE best pet sitter/walker/BFF to my two dogs! He is so kind and caring and such a great communicator. He thinks of all the things I forgot and take amazing care of my 2 high maintenance dogs. I never worried the entire day (10 hours I was gone) and normally I would be racked with worry and guilt. William is my favorite person in Florida!

Erika did a wonderful job taking care of my cat, Tig. I really appreciate that she spent time with him and even went the extra step to refresh his water and sweep up. This is the second time she’s watched Tig, and she continues to be reliable and caring. Highly recommend!

Esperanza and Jeffrey are life-savers! We have the hardest time finding a dogsitter with the patience and experience to take care of our special needs pups. They have done a fantastic job building a relationship with our anxious girl and reactive/fearful boy. Our usually difficult dogs have been happy and stress-free under their watch, and it is evident in their behavior and actually eating their food while we are away. Jeffrey and Esperanza always send detailed updates with pictures, and have been flexible with us as our plans have changed. If you have a unique situation and/or difficult pups, we cannot recommend them enough!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
