“Our pup loves spending the day at Barrie’s! Her tail wags when we hop out of the car and she sees where we are. Barrie often has other dogs but stays attentive to them and ensures everyone is getting along. She keeps us updated with pictures. Would suggest her for overnight boarding to anyone with a pup.”

“Corlaeja really came through for me and Billy. It was a very last minute booking, and she was not only able to do it, she did it exceptionally well. My boy—who is a brat—looked happy and healthy in every photograph she sent (and she sent regular photographs). And, of course, he came back to me the same way I left him. I will definitely look to rebook with her the next time there is an opportunity. Thanks again!”

“Alexandra was amazing with our dog Nala. This was longest we ever left her so we were a little nervous about her. But looking at the pictures/updates she sent everyday, we knew that our Nala was having the best time. She was also very accommodating about last minute extension due to our flight delay. We would highly recommend her and would definitely book with her again in future.”

“Tatiana was absolutely wonderful with our Charlie! It was our first time leaving him with a sitter while we went out of town for a week and we were extremely nervous not knowing how things would go. Tatiana kept us updated every day with messages as well as pictures and videos. We will be repeat clients!”

“Brittney was so excellent for Belle and made her weekend a wonderful one! She sent many photos during Belle’s stay which soothed my nerves while I was on vacation and was able to give me a wonderfully concise report card upon pickup. I’ll no doubt be using Brittney again in the future!”

“Another wonderful stay with Jessica! She treats my puppy like her own. We are so grateful for her updates throughout our trip and the detailed report she provides when we return home. She’s the best and has a lovely home full of love and toys.”

“Our pup, Willa, had a wonderful stay with Jordyn and her pups. Willa had a great time playing with the dogs and running around the backyard. We really enjoyed the updates and pictures that Jordyn sent. Communication with her was excellent from the first meet and greet to pick up time. Willa clearly loved Jordyn.”

“Wade & Morgan were fantastic hosts for our dog Boone over Memorial Day Weekend. Boone had a ball playing with their dog Atlas for 3 days. Wade and Morgan sent pictures and provided updates everyday. Would highly recommend!”

“Katherine was so sweet and made sure to keep me updated. I told her that this was my first time boarding Lu privately, so she made this SO comfortable and I got a bunch of super cute pictures out of it!”

“Amy was wonderful with our two dogs! She very clearly spoiled them. I can tell by the pictures that they had a great time. Especially out in the back yard! She was also very accommodating with our schedule which was very much appreciated!”

“Kaitlyn is one of the best sitters on Rover! She is so kind and accommodating. She let me know what was going on with my dog, and I had no concerns about Chloe’s safety. She even sent us home with a little gift. I highly recommend using Kaitlyn for all pet sitting needs 🖤”

“Our golden retriever absolutely loved his visit with Jonathan and his family. He could not have been a more perfect host and it was really nice to have a previous golden retriever owner as a Rover host.”

“My dog Kona had another great stay with Kelsey! I would absolutely recommend her. She is super accommodating, quick to get back to you and sends the best photos. Kona always has such a great time playing with her dogs and going for walks on the beach.”

“We are so happy we found Deby! She did a wonderful job with our three Persians and even sent daily reports, and one day we got a video! Thank you for your kind, loving care of our kitty kiddos, Deby !!”

“We had a great visit from Jamie! Conscientious communicator! Great personality! Easy going. Helped us out tremendously during Thanksgiving! I am definitely eager to book her again!”

“Cameron was absolutely outstanding. We were away at the beach for a full week, and he took incredible care of our dogs the entire time. He went above and beyond, sending regular updates and photos that gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It was obvious from every picture and message that our dogs were happy, comfortable, and receiving plenty of attention and affection. Cameron treated them like they were his own. He was reliable, communicative, trustworthy, and genuinely cared about our pets. We cannot say enough good things about our experience. If you are looking for someone who will take exceptional care of your dogs and keep you informed every step of the way, Cameron is your guy. We will absolutely book with him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a pet sitter. Five stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“Don't hesitate! Book Saraelizabeth to care for your pets and your house. We traveled abroad for two weeks and left behind four of our own cats, one feral cat that we feed regularly, and a yard full of high maintenance plants. We asked her to stay in our home for the duration of our trip, and we came home to perfectly happy and healthy cats, a yard that is thriving, and an immaculately clean house, which was totally unnecessary for her to clean but she insisted that she was "brought up to leave things the way she found them." Saraelizabeth is extremely responsible and capable, and she was skilled at connecting with our cats who are typically very shy with strangers. She was continuously communicative and exercised excellent judgement on managing our pets, who are used to being indoor-outdoor. The peace of mind her thoughtful, conscientious, diligent service she gave us was priceless. I recommend her without reservations.”

“Grace was amazing! She took such wonderful care of our two cats and sent us multiple updates per day which truly eased my anxiety! She took the time to play with them and made them feel comfortable while we were away. I would absolutely book her again! Thank you so much Grace!!!”

About: I have two sweet cats, Poka and Nori, and have been obsessed with cats since I can remember! I am always cat sitting for friends or going over to their houses to play with their cats! I don’t mind a litter box and love to hang out with cats of all ages and personalities!
“Devin was great, she communicated very well what she did, and was on time as she said she would be. Everything was done professionally and with a good attitude toward taking care of Mojo the cat. I am glad I found Devin to take care of my cat when I am gone!”

About: I walk my dog twice a day, take him to socialize with other dogs, and give plenty of open window car rides. I’ve trained him when he was young and I have also taken care of a wide range of animals of other ages from the animal clinic that I shadow at. I’m aware of animal social cues and am plentiful in patience with all furry friends! I am a full time student, so my schedules do vary from each semester. As of right now, Mondays and Wednesdays, I am free after 3 pm. On Fridays, I am free after 12 pm. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I am free after 5 pm. These two specific days would be better for home drop-ins and late afternoon dog walks! With my dog at home, I always keep him in my sight not only for his sake but for my own comfort. I just love being around animals all the time. Whether I am doing school work or chores, I always keep them included.
“So glad Sarah was available for my last minute holiday request! She spent time hanging out with my cats and making them comfortable, giving me full updates with lots of pictures! I’m very grateful!”

“Christina was amazing! My cat, Cece, loved her. Cece normally never comes out for anyone when we are gone but she came out for Christina and got some pets and love almost every day we were gone. Clearly she was very comfortable with her and felt safe. She even went and picked up a package for me at the leasing office because it needed to be refrigerated and came earlier than expected. Will definitely be using her in the future.”

“Amy has been watching Greta, my very active GSP puppy, these past couple of weeks and so far it has been great. She has a dog and a toddler that gets plenty of interaction with our puppy and Greta is always happy to go back to see her new friends. I am very appreciative of Amy’s willingness to work with our busy schedules that fluctuate for drop off and pick up.”
About: I’ve always been the friend people call when they need someone to care for their pets! I’ve raised a dog from puppyhood and adopted and cared for a senior dog, so I’m comfortable with every stage of life. Over the years, I’ve been a repeat dog and cat sitter and walker for countless friends and family—including house sitting for over a month. I am also a Doctor (resident physician) at Baptist Health, so responsibility, attention to detail, and caring for others are a big part of my everyday life. I specifically offer Rover during lighter months when I’m home most of the day; when I do go into work, I’m typically only away for 2–3 hours at a time. I’m comfortable with medications and detailed care instructions, attentive to when something seems off, and calm in unexpected situations. One of my closest friends is also a veterinarian, giving me a trusted resource when needed. Most importantly, I genuinely love animals and treat other people’s pets the way I’d want someone to treat my own. If you furry friend stays with me, they will also meet Zeus, my 10-year-old neutered pug and professional co-pet-sitter. He’s incredibly laid-back, patient, and unfazed by just about everything—I have never even heard him bark! He loves dogs and cats, has helped me host many pets over the years, and mostly just does his own thing while providing some quiet companionship. Whether you have an energetic puppy, a laid-back dog, or a cat who runs the household, I’m at your bark and call! 🐾 As I mentioned, I’m a doctor at Baptist Health. I specifically offer Rover during lighter months when I am at home most of the day. When I do go into work during these months, I’m typically only away for 2–3 hours at a time. I want your pet to feel as comfortable and secure as possible, so I’m happy to follow whatever routine they’re used to—feeding schedules, walks, medications, crate time, sleeping habits, and all their little quirks! I’m attentive and responsible, and I never take the trust of caring for someone’s pet or home lightly. If you’re hiring me to host your doggo, I live in a condo right by Railroad Park and just a block from Rotary Trail, so there are plenty of opportunities for walks and outdoor time throughout the day. My mom also lives only five minutes away and has a large, beautiful fenced-in yard that we can visit for some extra space to play and explore. At home, my calm senior pug Zeus is around for company but is very content to do his own thing. When caring for pets in their own home, I’m respectful of their space and prioritize keeping their normal routine. I will also send plenty of photos and updates so you always know how they’re doing!
“I LOVE JESSICA! She is so sweet and very informative! I think Jojo and I both look forward to seeing her every morning. I will definitely book with her every chance we can.”

“Kendall was amazing, kind, and so accommodating! I am so thankful we chose her home for Baskin’s daycare needs. I would highly suggest others to use Kendall and we definitely will be using her again!”

“Doug did a great job taking care of our dog, Paisley! We were visiting family and needed a sitter in a pinch (during a holiday weekend no less) and Doug was super quick to respond and help us out. He provided nice updates with photos, and it was clear Paisley had a great time and was well taken care of. He even took the extra effort to replace her ball when she lost it the bushes while playing outside. Would definitely use Doug again.”

“I reached out to Mrs. Kim on very short notice after my dog sitter bailed on me days prior to a week long vacation I had scheduled. Mrs.Kim was very accommodating with my request. She does frequent updates and made my baby a part of her pact, and now my dog loves it there! 100% recommend Mrs. Kim and her family and will be using her again and again !”

About: I was trained how to train dogs at an early age after our first dog was trained by our breeder. Since then I trained 2 golden retrievers and an Australian Cattle dog (red heeler). Both breeds are strong willed and have high energy. I work from home and so have a lot of freedom to break away to take care of dogs. I enjoy taking care of dogs and sharing the knowledge from my experience of training and raising dogs. I have a large beautiful fenced yard, have multiple crates for use and live within walking distance of a dog park. I have kids that will make sure your dog gets lots of love while being boarded.
“What a blessing! While traveling from Michigan to Alabama for a conference, I didn't want my furbaby couped up in the hotel all day. Finding Lawden was a blessing. Mr. Brown met new friends and had a ball. Thank you Lawden!”

“Merelee is awesome! She was so seeet with Smokey! Sent pics and kept us updated on how things were going. We were very last minute in booking and she was so accommodating. Would highly recommend!”
“I cannot say enough good about Savannah! She is an absolutely amazing caretaker. She treated my little girl like she was her own. If I could give her 10 out of 5 stars I would.”

About: I have a special gift for noticing the emotions and personalities in pets that people often overlook. Whether your dog is playful, shy, independent, or simply needs a little extra love, I take the time to understand what makes them feel comfortable and happy. I’ve been around dogs since the age of 7. My specialty is dogs, but I happily welcome my feline friends too! :) When your pet is with me, they’re not just being watched. I want to make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and joyful during every visit—so much so that they remember me when I return! My goal is to make sure your pet has a great day, because they give us so much in return: security, joy, companionship, and unconditional love. I want them to feel that same care and connection while they’re with me. 🐾 I don’t have a full time or part time job, I don’t own any pets of my own, no kids. My only exceptions would be my personal daily task that come with general life. I do not board more than one dog at a time just to keep things safe. I also live in an apartment complex with two other roommates who are my best friends. With this set up, I can ensure both your fur baby and my roommates are comfortable.
About: Hey there, my name is Holly and I love working with dogs. I have spent the last 10 plus years working with dogs at a local doggie day care facility. While working there I obtained a lot of knowledge and eventually earned a position as a supervisor and managed new hires on how to work dog day care yards. During my time I gained a lot of valuable insight on dog behavior while working in the dog day care yard. I also have owned as many as three dogs at one time. I have hosted several of my friend's dogs for overnight stays along with my own dogs and I would just love the opportunity to give them the best care and love a dog could desire. I have a passion for fur babies and treat them as if they are my own. I have a special relationship with my veterinarian and I have experience in giving dog medication if necessary. I am conveniently located to my personal veterinarian and other veterinarians as well as a emergency vet in the event your fur baby suddenly becomes ill. Having owned numerous dogs over my lifetime I am keenly aware of what it takes to attend to senior dogs. I have a lot of green space in my neighborhood for a comfortable walk on a leash and potty breaks. I am currently retired and available to baby sit your fur baby anytime including weekdays/nights, weekends, and holidays. I am flexible and willing to accommodate your fur baby's needs along side my own fur baby, Pinkie. I have a lot of green space in my neighborhood for a comfortable walk on a leash and potty breaks along with my fur baby, Pinkie for company and companionship. I am all about creature comforts and whatever your baby is used to for the best experience. Your baby is more than welcome to lay on the couch, sleep in my bed or can be crated if that is what they enjoy the most. I also offer Dog TV for viewing pleasure. You can expect lot's of cuddle time, potty breaks, walks, treats and toys to play with but most of all LOVE. I also have a habit of sending video's and pictures of your baby while you are away.
About: I honestly enjoy dogs and cats more than most people, sorry not sorry 😆. There’s just something about the trusting love of an animal that brings joy to life/my world. I’ve been a dog owner for over 15 years, first to my sweet Charlie - no longer with us; and now to our foster fail Maya. Charlie was a border collie who never ran out of energy. Like, ever 😆. Maya is a more settled gal, but she still loves a good walk/hike as long as a nap comes afterwards. I’ve also been a cat mom, and cat foster mom for over 20 years. Our Sophie & Evie keep us on our toes requesting frequent snuggles, play time, treats, and nap time in our laps 💜🐾 If it’s not already evident, I firmly believe: pets are family, and pets have rights to autonomy/boundaries with people and other animals. I fully expect pet owners to have the same standards of care for selecting someone to help with their pet as I believe they’d use to choose a babysitter for their human kiddos. I happily respect and help maintain people’s rules for their pets (but all y’all that say they can’t get on the couch need an intervention 🙃😉 I’m just saying). Let’s chat about how to help your pets live their best lives when you can’t be with them - whether that’s walks, stop in visits, boarding in my home or other care needs. I work from home and have a fair amount of flexibility in my schedule. I’m able to do drop in visits to feed, administer meds, let dogs out, attend to cat boxes etc. and during my visits I will also provide a bit of attention and interaction for your pets if they desire it - I’m not just a run in and run back out sitter ☺️ I provide in home boarding and doggy day care at my home, where they have access to our fully fenced backyard for potty visits and playtime (weather safety dependent). I will probably only offer cat care visits to your home, as I have our 2 girls here full time as well as often having a foster kitten/cat or 2. I will be happy to cater a care plan that best suits your requirements and your cat’s needs.
About: I’m the one your dog wants to stay with! Playful, I’m just as energetic as your pet😁 I love to give belly rubs 😁 I will treat your pet just like my own Im home evenings, weekends and overnights to care for your fur baby. We go for walks in the yard. Contact me if you have any questions about a schedule. I don’t house pets in crates although I do have them if needed. My home is pet friendly. It’s a safe environment. My doors are locked and I have a fenced in yard so they won’t escape.
About: I’ve had dogs my whole life, my mom and grandmother started the humane society in my hometown so we have always taken care of animals. I will take care of your dog like it was my own. I love all animals but especially dogs! I currently work from home so I am available to watch your dog during the day or overnight boarding. I can do drop ins or walks after 4pm. My wife is a RN so she is home 4 days a week to help watch and play with your dog also! Someone will always be available to supervise your pet and can update you with pictures through their stay! I have a fenced in yard and a dog door so they have access to come in and out as they please. I also have a big energetic German shepherd lab mix that will play with your dog all day! We have daily frisbee tosses and fetch in the backyard.
About: I’m a devoted animal lover who treats every animal like my own! Whether it’s long walks, playtime, or cuddles, I make sure your pet feels happy, safe, and loved while you’re away. Known for my reliability, patience, and big heart for furry friends, I bring positive energy and genuine care to every walk, visit or stay. I have 8 years of experience caring for pets of my friends and families…I’m open to all types of care weather it’s just a walk, need me to let them out, keep them at my place or I stay at yours! I work at UAB Hospital 3 days a week, even on days I work I can let them out before after and on my hour break! I will make any accommodations necessary for you and your animals! I live right by railroad park, so that area would be perfect for any animal to be walked in! I like by myself with no pets in my apartment.

About: I've taken care of family pets and neighbors' dogs for several years, as well as cats and fish. I have experience with the Greater Birmingham Humane Society and my own dog for three years. I'm available and flexible, so I'm ready to help out whenever you and your furry friend need me! When I'm not helping with neighborhood pets, you'll likely see me and my dog out for walks or training. I believe in meeting dogs where they are at by responding to their energy levels. That may mean making sure they are comfortable during stressful situations or jumping in to play at higher energy times! My primary goal is to make sure they are safe and set up for success when you are not at home, so I am happy to employ specific care instructions. No two dogs are the same!
About: For as long as I can remember, there have always been pets in my life! Whether that was in my own home growing up, in a family member's home, at friends' houses, etc. I have often been the go-to person when it comes to caring for them when their owners are out of town. From walking, feeding, playing, administering medication, and more, I have absolutely loved getting to care for pets of all sizes and ages. As for my own pet experience, after moving to Birmingham in 2018 I applied to become a foster through Two by Two Rescue and began fostering (and quickly failed) with my sweet 13-year-old Pekingese, Max. He was truly the light of my life and we were the best of friends! He taught me a ton about how to care for senior dogs. Before his passing in 2021, I rescued my cat, Mews, and although she's a little hesitant around other pets she stays in her own space! At my own home, I do have stairs but have no issue helping any senior pups or dogs afraid of going upstairs feel comfortable. I used to have to carry Max all the time, haha. I'm also comfortable with pee pads as they used to be a staple in my apartment. I'm not particular about whether or not your pet is create trained and have no issue if they're not! As long as they'd be okay around my cat, I'm more than happy to let them roam around as they please. There are plenty of sidewalks around my apartment for walkies and we're close to a community park as well! Discussing my work schedule is something I do before my meet and greets just so we both have an understanding of expectations. However, my full-time job is a hybrid environment so I'm able to work remotely usually 2 days out of the week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) to care for your pet. On days I am in the office, I'm happy to run by your home during my lunch break if you're close to my office in Hoover. At my home, there is plenty of walking space to take your pup out and get some exercise. We can visit a local park near my house if that's something they'd enjoy. I'm also happy to crate your fur baby if needed.

About: Hey! I'm a medical student from Alabama located in Homewood. New to Rover, but I grew up with over ten cats and dogs and have owned my Jack Chi, Benoit, for three years, so I'm experienced with caring for animals of all breeds and sizes! My schedule varies depending on the week, but I am generally very flexible. I can do walks, drop-in visits, and boarding! I'm a full-time student and every week looks a little different! Generally very flexible and can accommodate most schedules. Just let me know what works best for you! Let me know your dog's daily routine and needs and I'll make sure they feel right at home with me! You'll get lots of photos/videos and updates, as I know how hard it can be to trust a stranger with your dog.

“Aniya did an amazing job with Max and Milo with taking them out and sending me pictures while they were out on their walk. Anyia was very informative and I truly appreciate the fact that she took the time to be informative. I will use her again to take care of my fur babies.”

“Courtney was great with my furbaby. She was timely, professional, kind, dependable, and took good care of my baby on his walks. We look forward to working with her again soon. Great job!!!”

“Kristine checks in on my dog weekly. She is so kind and patient with him, especially when he was nervous at first. I know my dog is in good hands with Kristine and I don’t have to worry about my dog on my long work days.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was eight years old. 14 years later, I am still doing just that, except this time to support myself in college. I also have 2+ years of experience with Wag! and have walked over 70 dogs. I walk dogs every other day and play with them in my school’s lawn. As long as I’m done with my school assignments, I’m happy to play with your pup! I will always keep the dog on the leash unless otherwise indicated. I take extra caution to see that they don’t eat anything off the street.
“Gracie is a fantastic Rover! She is very pleasant to work with and even helped me out last minute for a quick drop in to feed my four legged furry friend. Doesn’t disappoint with her walks either. She goes the distance to get your dog some good exercise! Will use as long as she around!”

“Carson was amazing! We had to book last minute and she was very flexible with our ever changing plans! Took great care of our pup and sent pictures and updates throughout his stay! Will definitely book with Carson again in the future!”

“Great sitters! They communicated with me really well and took great care of Louie. He’s typically kind of shy but he absolutely loved staying with them- didn’t want to leave!”

“If I could leave 10 out of 5 stars I would! Amanda was wonderful and we could not have asked for a better experience. Besides being kind, gentle, and thoughtful, she was very caring and gave our dog lots of attention. We had multiple pictures and videos, which were so nice. She took Oliver on walks every day, not down the street, but to a park every day. She also fed him home cooked chicken (with my approval) to try to get him to eat (picky eater!). I know Oliver had a great time and it was so nice not worrying about our little boy! We will definitely use her again! Thank you Amanda!”
