“Audrey was great with my little Yorkie! Sometimes he’s anxious but he felt comfortable with her right away. Audrey sent me pics of their night together and he was obviously having fun. She spent the night at my house and everything was clean and picked up when I returned. Best of all KC was happy and well-cared for. I highly recommend Audrey!”

“Jaden quickly won over both our doggos and cats. He even managed to get our super duper scaredy cat to like him! He diligently provided the additional care we requested like watering plants, taking them for walks, and playing with their favorite toys. We also came home to a well kept home. We will be using him again and highly recommend.”

“I must absolutely RAVE about Madison because she took such amazing care of our pets with incredible, consistent communication! Extra special shout-out because our dog, unfortunately, got sick while under Madison's care, and Madison kept me informed of our dog's behavior, current status, and cleaned up all of the messes so thoroughly! We love her and I HIGHLY recommend her!!!❤️”

“Cassidy really helped us out last minute when other plans for a sitter fell through. The pups immediately liked her when she came for the initial meet and greet. She asked really good questions regarding their care and routines and sent frequent updates with pictures. We definitely recommend her and will be using her again.”

“Mary was wonderful work with. Responsive, clear and trustworthy. Our dogs were in great hands. She sent regular updates and think our dogs had more fun then we did. Highly recommended.”

“Melanie was wonderful to work with. Fig needed cuddles, attention, and love as well as medication twice a day. She met all his needs so beautifully and he enjoyed spending time with her. We will be using Melanie again to take care of our boy.”
“Kevin is a super nice guy. I am so glad we have him in our dogs lives and ours. I will take him anytime. He did a great job with our pups. They seem very happy.”

“The bestest!!!!! If you want someone to watch your cats and feel secure they’re being well taken care of, get Hanna!! She is so caring and makes the extra effort to make our babies feel comfortable and content. One of our kitties is very shy and Hanna did a great job of respecting her space but also making sure she’s fed/doing well. The other kitty that loves attention, Hanna made sure to give it to him! In addition, she made sure the water fountain was filled and the litter box clean! We are so appreciative of her and will definitely work with her again and recommend her care!!!”

“I recommend Dani to take care of your fur babies, I was very nervous leaving my fur baby and she took such good care of him as if he was her own. We will definitely use her again.”

“Diana was great with Winston while we were away for five full days. Even during a snowstorm, she still came by to walk him and spend time with him. She’s incredibly reliable and so accommodating to Winston’s needs. We’ll definitely keep her in mind for future walks whenever we’re away—or anytime we need an extra hand. Highly recommend!”

About: Hi! I have 5 dogs and 4 parakeets myself, I love to craft or just binge watch movies. I’m currently in college, I’ve always loved animals and I lost my job in March, I’m just trying to find better things for myself. Reach out anytime ☺️ I have open availability so pretty much let me know what you’re looking for, if you want me to just stay at yours or even if you just want me to pop in and out from time to time! I have a fenced yard so I’m always watching my dogs, I sit outside with them and just watch them play. I also take them on walks when my parents are able to help since we have alot

“Sydney was fantastic! This was our first time using an in-home Rover sitter for our puppy, Theo, and she gave us complete peace of mind while we were away for six nights. She sent regular updates and photos, took great care of Theo and our home, and was very responsive throughout the stay. Our flight home was delayed, and she was kind enough to stay an extra couple of hours, which took a lot of stress off our family. We came home to a happy puppy and a house that was just as we left it. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Sydney again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring house sitter.”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong pet owner currently owned by three cats—Chewy, Peanut, and Tigger 😸 With 30+ years of hands-on animal care experience, I know every pet has their own personality, routines, and very specific opinions. I’m comfortable caring for cats and dogs with a variety of needs, including medical support—my cat Chewy has asthma, so I’m experienced with daily treatments and paying attention when something seems off. I’ve also cared for dogs of different sizes, from my own growing up to helping with my brother’s Great Dane. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pets with someone else, and I’ll care for them with patience, reliability, and the same attention I’d want for my own pets. Since I work from home in Hummelstown, I have flexibility in my schedule that makes pet care a great fit. I intentionally keep my service area close to home so I can reliably stop by in the morning, during lunch, and after work for visits, walks, feedings, or check-ins. I’d rather provide consistent, attentive care to nearby pets than overextend myself. I believe pets are happiest when they can stick to their normal routines and feel safe in their own environment. In your home, I’ll follow your instructions closely for feeding, walks, medications, playtime, and any little quirks or preferences that make your pet comfortable. Safety is very important to me, whether that means double-checking doors and gates, following leash safety, being mindful of food restrictions, or simply paying attention if a pet seems stressed or not acting like themselves. As a longtime pet owner—including caring for a cat with daily medical needs—I know how important attentiveness and consistency are. I also understand the trust involved in having someone care for your pets and enter your home, and I take that responsibility seriously.
About: I’ve always had a love for animals. I’m a huge pet person. I find joy in meeting new animals and being able to spend my free time taking care of them. I love being able to help others so I’m always open to find any time I may have to help you with your pets when needed. FYI- I live 5 mins away from Hersheypark… bring your dog for to me for doggy daycare if you plan on taking a weekend/daytrip to Hershey or Hersheypark! I’m currently working full time. I pet sit and dog groom on the side of my full time job. Weekends is when I have the most time to spend with the dogs. During the week I still give them plenty of loving but it’s before work and after work due to my schedule. I will always make sure they are on a leash when outside if there is no fence. I can will take care of your dog in your house or mine whichever is prefered.
“We cannot recommend Jyllian enough. We have two big dogs and one is very quirky and anxious at times. We’ve never left them with a stranger before they always travel with us. Jyllian was wonderful with our boys, went above and beyond and we could tell from the pictures she shared every day that they were at ease and very comfortable with her already. She was wonderful, trustworthy, dependable, and treated them like her own - all things someone hopes for in a great pet sitter. We are so glad we found her and our boys have a new best friend!”

About: I have several pets of my own. Over the years I have volunteered with shelters as well as taking care of my own animals. I have dealt with bigger dogs, small dogs, and lots of cats! I love animals and will do whatever I can to ensure a happy and healthy environment! I currently work part time over the summers in Pennsylvania and go to school in Ohio over the rest of the year. I can work in both places, it just depends on what time of year. My account will have my area provided for which one for whichever time of year. Normally I have a 8 hour shift, I do have a couple days off a week and still have plenty of time before and after work to take care of animals. I also have my lunch break. I will follow whatever instructions are provided by the client. I will stick to any dietary needs, exercise needs, and any attention needs the animal has. I am willing to clean litter boxes if it is a cat and obviously I will pick up after a dog on a walk. I keep a very close eye on the animal(s) and make it my primary focus when taking care of them.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Union Deposit on Rover is $58.28 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Union Deposit walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Union Deposit maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Union Deposit choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Union Deposit. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
