About: I have taken care of dogs and cats since as early as I can remember. Honestly I get along with animals better then people! We've always had a dog and more recently cats. My in-laws ask for my help when they take a trip and I am always happy to help! Currently I am caring for my kids during most of the day but I am open on evenings and weekends as needed! I'll try to fit anything in that I can! I'll always greet the animals first and make sure they are comfortable with me. Then I check for water and food. Once I make sure those are good we are off for play time or walk time!
“Paula was the answer to everything I needed! We have a new puppy who has lots of energy but still needs a lot of TLC. Paula was our perfect fit! She naturally interacts without little guy in a way that’s so reassuring. She asked all the right questions and is very communicative. She is clearly very experienced! I felt so at ease knowing she was caring for our little guy while we were away. She is creative with her walks, helped us train our puppy, and even gave us some very helpful feedback that helped our puppy acclimate to his new surroundings. I’d recommend Paula to anyone. Thank you for a great experience!”

“Matt is new to Central PA and we are blessed to have him here! He’s exactly the dog walker we’ve been searching for… reliable, friendly, detail-oriented, thoughtful AND he’s a dog whisperer! Our dog, Clyde, fears meeting new people but he warmed up to Matt within minutes. Matt knew exactly what to do to build trust and connect with our pup. We’re so grateful to be connected to Matt and plan to use him a lot in the future.”

“Alexandra has done an excellent job checking in on my puppy! She makes sure my girl has enough water, snacks, and exercise. Even with puppy behavior, Alexandra doesn’t seem to shy away from my lil girl! Would definitely recommend booking her for your walking/check in needs.”

“We needed some help to cover when our usual dog walker went of town for a bit. Cassidy has been great with our pup! She's very professional, always arrives when she says she will, rain or shine. We get pictures and updates and in general she's great with communication.”

About: I've been taking care of dogs and cats since I was a young girl. I know a lot about body language, feeding routines, and behavior. I have no issues with any pets, as long as they don't bite! I work a full time job as a, hours ranging between 3:00p- 10p (I try to change my availability on Rover as I get my work schedule!), but I want to incorporate my pet care calling into my life, so I decided to pick this up as a part time! Please keep in mind that I like to book clients, especially new ones, 3 (three) days in advance! This gives us time for a proper Meet & Greet, and for me to build a Client File! I do not take appointments past 3pm. I will gladly work around appointments to the best of my abilities! Caring for your animal, depending on dog or cat, I will have them leashed outside when walking, and monitor when outside in a fenced in yard, or given treats!
About: I’m at that stage of life where I can’t have my own pup yet, but I love them so much! So, I’ve been watching my friends and families pets for the last three years! I treat every pup with the same love and attention. I’m a full time medical student who loves dogs more than anything else! I love to spend quality time with furry friends in the evening when I get off of my rotations and weekends when I have a lot of downtime. I have a two bedroom apartment with a balcony and large living room. I tend to walk the dogs 2-3 times a day when they stay with me at my place, depending on if I’m working nearby and can run home for lunch :) Otherwise, I’m home most of the 8 hours I’m not at work, and most of the weekend! Happy to walk dogs and pet sit at other homes and accommodate whatever needs seen fit per your pupper in your home.
“Siyani is absolutely AMAZING! My rescued pup is a reactive dog, and it’s usually very difficult for him to warm up to new people,!especially when it comes to walks or being cared for by someone new. But with Siyani, he felt safe right away!! She has such a calm, kind energy that made Toby comfortable and confident, which is something I honestly didn’t think I would find outside of our family. Finding someone who can handle a rescue pup with patience and love is rare, and Siyani has completely earned my trust. This experience gave me the peace of mind I needed, and now I know I’ve found my go-to sitter for Toby, not only for dog walks but also for when I travel. I couldn’t recommend her enough!!”

“Abby’s communication is stellar and she was so flexible when we asked her to walk our furbabies last minute. She took lots of pictures! Would definitely book again!”

About: I’ve been walking my friend’s’ dogs over the years and I absolutely love it. I’d be more than happy to check in your pe, take them for a walk and make sure that they don’t feel alone while you have to be out. I work from home two weeks of the month currently and will be expecting to be fully home by February. During those weeks, I can come anytime of day but the other two weeks, I’ll be available Thursday-Sunday. I’ll confirm that your pet is healthy and ensure that they’re comfortable with my presence / actions. I’ll also follow all instructions provided to me and share updates after each visit.
About: I’ve been caring for various sized dogs and cats since I was a small child. From feeding, to going on walks or just providing them company while you’re away I’m bound to be your pets new best friend! I’m available most week days but please try to give me a few hours heads up if you’ll be needing me to avoid schedule conflicts! Each animal requires their own specific care. Please let me know what services you are looking for PRIOR to booking to ensure everything goes smoothly for everyone

About: Hello! My name is Lauren. I work as a nurse at Hershey Medical part time and I'm looking to take care of pets in my free time! My last dog had diabetes and other health issues so I’m experienced with administering shots and medications. He was also blind so I’m experienced with those pups who cannot see! I fostered kittens and currently have a cat of my own. I also have experience with rabbits and guinea pigs. I will be sure to send pictures of your fur babies while you are away! I'm currently working part time as a nurse so I can provide care to your animal on my days off which will be provided in my availability calendar. Currently, my house is under construction so I cannot board any animals. I can come to your house though to feed, water, play, walk, and snuggle!

“Molly was super responsive to my messages. She agreed to walk my Millie with little notice, before even meeting. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a caring dog-walker.”

About: All my friends always joked that my house was the zoo. Among fish, hamsters, birds and bunnies we always have had dogs as part of that zoo. I seem to have a natural kinship with animals and seem to be making friends with the dog at the party before the host. But, I can't imagine life any other way. Assisting with rescue transports has also given me experience in handling scared and skittish animals. It is always funny when walking a dog you don't know the owner's name but identify them as "Jack's Mom" I can't wait to care for your dog as my own. I also look forward to helping your pet feel loved and have some extra attention during this chaotic thing we call life. My schedule varies depending on time of year. Taking care of pets is a happy getaway from everyday life. I like to think they bring me more joy but I see how excited they are when I arrive <3 It all depends on the pet's needs and the client's requests too. I communicate my schedule and the pets schedule all the time when needed.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
