“Keith was really quick in replying to all of my communications with him. He was happy to take our anxious dog for a few hours and Benji was happy and made himself at home. Thankyou Keith.”

About: Myself and James have always had dogs and have experience with training our young spaniel, looking after a hard of hearing and blind Labrador, and even our family chihuahua. We have a loving home and a sociable caring dog Nala who is always happy to have visitors. I work from home and so I’m around all day to care for my dog Nala and any other dogs I’m looking after. I can take breaks throughout the day for walks. My house is spacious with an enclosed garden. Nala is a friendly and gentle natured show cocker spaniel, who honestly would sleep until 11am if we did. She’s always been around other dogs, children, and even some cats so she’s always open to guests! I have a high fenced garden about 5/6ft and so it’s fully secure. A spacious house with separating kitchen and living room if your pet needs their own space. We live in a friendly street walkable to Red Wharf Bay for easy lunch time walks to the beach. My dog is allowed on the sofa but is well trained so I can adapt to what you and your pets are comfortable with. Nala my dog is a small gentle natured show cocker spaniel and is friendly with other animals and is very experienced socially with lots of other dog breeds. I’m happy to have a meet and greet to ensure the dogs are comfortable together before committing to overnight visits.
“Scylla and Greg had a wonderful time with Dulcie and Cooper! We felt the dogs were in great hands and came back to happy pups. Greg even got gifted a toy! Thanks for looking after them 😊”

“Alison kindly took care of Merlin for the day. They went on a couple of walks and Alison shared some photo updates with me. Merlin occasionally expresses some challenging collie traits but Alison did not seem phased about this and judging by the photos, Merlin seemed very relaxed at her home. It was great to know he was in good hands whilst I was working away :)”

“Michelle and Alex are lovely! They took great care of our male staffy for the day and he came home a tired and happy dog! He was taken for a couple of beach walks throughout the day. Michelle and Alex were quick with comms and sent photos and a video of their dog and ours playing together. If only they lived closer to us!!!”

“Sarah was great, she was always really quick with any communication and very accommodating when we were delayed picking Cookie up. She was really welcoming and friendly and our dog had a great day with her, the family and Tedi who is such a lovely dog! Sarah was really good at keeping us updated as to how Cooks was getting on over the day. Cookie had a great day and was thoroughly worn out when she got home! Would definitely use again and thoroughly recommend!”

“I must say pluto enjoyed the stay with Swathi. She kept on posting us with plutos update for the entire day. Which was a sense of relief for us. Thanks Swathi for the awesome service”

About: I grew up loving our two cats and looked after a friend's miniature poodle for 7 months once. Hard to let go after that long! :) I work from home and would be able to keep a loving eye on any pet staying with us, plus give them regular walkies and play times. Just reach out to see if I'm available as the Rover calender seems to be glitching and isn't letting me input my availability as I'd like it to...hopefully will get it sorted soon though, thank you for your patience! I make sure your beloved pets have everything they need at the right times and will be happy to go above and beyond to make sure they are kept happy and comfy, happy to follow any specific instructions provided!
“Catarina and her husband were very gracious hosts to Connie & Lucy for 2 day sits whilst we were in Llandudno on holiday They were very caring towards the dogs and sent lots of messages showing us what they were up to . Thanks guys Much appreciated xx Barbara Beeston”

“Being new to Rover we were a little nervous about leaving Dodger but we needn’t have worried. Nadia and Louie were wonderful and Dodger obviously felt at ease with them immediately. Nadia was really accommodating about timings which we really appreciated. All in all a very good experience - thank you Nadia - and Louie.”

“From start to finish Nicholle was excellent, we felt extremely comfortable leaving Boris with her for the day, and we would highly recommend the service Nicholle offers, great communication and very welcoming and friendly, Boris had a great day, thank you.”

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
