About: Raising and caring for Zaccaria(dachshund) was the best thing I could ever do in my life, from the day we took him away from his mum, to the day I brought him tired, in my arms to the vet. I loved every single day, walk, hike and play. We were like brother and sister. After his death, I was lucky enough to be able to distract myself with my uncle's dogs for an entire summer. Two beautiful Golden Retriever, Anice and Armando, with whom the days were more about relaxation and quiet walks, as they were used to the flat. Since I moved to London, I miss the affection that only an animal can give. I had the chance to live with a Rottweiler, Jackson, for 6 months, but since his owner was there for walks, I would just play with him and cuddle him at home. Nowadays, working from home and living on my own, I realise how much I miss having an animal with whom I can chat a bit and take my walks no longer alone. At the same time, I know that there are many little dogs that would need company as much as I do, so why not give my availability to look after them when their owners can't! For me, a dog is in the long run more sensitive and intelligent than a human, so I have a lot of respect for them. I like to treat them like adults, without using little voices but transmitting love and trust to them anyway. Working from home on my business, I am free to organise myself as I wish. Every early morning I go out for a walk before starting work and do the same at the end of the day, as if to imitate the home-office commute. During the day, I can have lessons at home, often with just one person and for no more than 90 minutes per lesson, so it is very easy for me to organise my time around these. On other days, I work on my things so I am free to take off for walks. I live on the ground floor, with four large windows facing the street. Opposite is the small courtyard classic of Victorian cottages and my neighbourhood is decidedly quiet and suitable for walks. Less than 10 minutes away is the river, the beginning of Barnes with its wide lawn or the large wandsworth park in the opposite direction. Being a quiet, residential area surrounded by parks, many dogs live here. My flat is small, so suitable for small dogs for longer periods, but only for short periods with small/medium sized dogs, which I would make sure to go out with more often. I have a wooden floor and the sofa is protected by a blanket, so there is no problem if you come in with your paws a bit dirty. I would only close off the carpeted area (the bedroom), to avoid damaging it... for those staying overnight though, I would keep it accessible, so that no one feels lonely.

4. Prakhar K.
About: I have 3+ years of experience of pet care. I am extremely caring and vigilant of their needs, and like to take them for park dates. I always talk to them lovingly even if they misbehave, and caress them at regular intervals on their tummy (they love that). Just like humans, they deserve happiness, everyday. I am currently working from home and looking for a permanent job. I take regular breaks in which I like to go outside for a walk or run, and can provide potty breaks and physical exercise to the pet simultaneously. I also have my wife with me who absolutely loves dogs. I have a fenced backyard (fence height: 12 feet) for the pet to run around. Food and water will be available at all times. They are allowed on the furniture to rest.

About: In 2020 I completed the City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming. Although I won’t be providing any specialist dog grooming here, I did learn how to read dog behaviours whilst passing all the tests on such topics. I grew up on a farm surrounded by animals and my dog Wolfie is now 9 years old. He lived independently with me in London over lockdown but unfortunately my current working lifestyle doesn’t accommodate for full time care of him so he isn’t in London often. However I have availability on specific days of the week and I’d love to spend more time with dogs hahaha! Unavailable times: Mondays: 9am-5:30pm Tuesdays and Thursdays: 2:30pm-8:00pm (hours may vary slightly). Happy to do at least one dog walk every weekday (excl. Monday and Tues/Thurs after 2:30pm) Frequently available for dog daycare on Wednesdays and Fridays! I try and keep my weekends free but when nothing is planned I am happy to pick up extra work last minute. I completed a level 2 dog grooming certificate where I also learnt about dog behaviours and basic safety procedures I have a small walled off garden but I much prefer walks around the streets when taking the dog out. I also have the confidence of living a 3 min walk from the vets if anything were to happen (although I’m sure it’ll never be a concern!!!)

“I am delighted to write this testimonial for my dear friend Megan, who I wholeheartedly recommend as an exceptional dog walker. I have had the pleasure of knowing Megan for 10 years and can confidently attest to her unwavering love for animals and her outstanding abilities in caring for them. Megan has always had a special bond with animals, especially dogs. Her genuine passion for our furry companions shines through in everything she does. She not only adores dogs but also possesses the patience, compassion, and dedication required to provide the best care possible. What truly sets Megan apart is her responsible and safety-conscious approach to dog walking. She takes the time to understand each dog's unique personality and any special requirements they may have. She is vigilant and attentive, ensuring that each walk is not only enjoyable but also safe for the dogs under her care. I have also had the privilege of entrusting my own furry family member to Megan's care, and I can attest that my dog adores her. Megan consistently provides a nurturing environment, and I always feel at ease knowing my pet is in her capable hands. Without a doubt, Megan possesses all the qualities needed to be an amazing dog walker on Rover. Her genuine love for dogs, combined with her responsible and caring approach, make her an ideal choice for anyone seeking the best possible care for their furry family members.”

16. Nadia M.
“I am so lucky to have found Nadia! My Cavapoo, Darcy can be fairly anxious and nervous of new environments but Nadia took the time to get to know her and make us both feel as comfortable as possible! She now regularly cares for Darcy and treats her like her own with lots of cuddles, playtime and nice walks! Darcy absolutely loves her and her husband 😍 I receive regular pupdates and photos and feel so reassured Darcy is in the best care! If you’re looking for someone then don’t hesitate to reach out to Nadia! 🐾”

About: I’ve had extensive dog- and house-sitting experience, both short term and for over a month at a time. I love every dog I meet and enjoy adjusting my lifestyle to suit a furry friend. I work remotely and make my own hours so I can move my job anywhere and schedule breaks for dog walks. I love to do a big walk in the early afternoon so I’m not sitting at a desk all day. I have a spacious flat that’s ground level - though it doesn’t have a fenced yard, I’m near lots of parks and great walking areas.
