“Charlotte was wonderful with Sunny! So loving and attentive. Charlotte also communicated several times a day with us and showed us pictures of Sunny having a great time. Charlotte is very responsible and trustworthy. She took care of our four month old puppy for nine days in a row and had consistent care and energy throughout the long job of taking care of him! We will definitely rebook with Charlotte, she is a godsend!”

“Kirk is incredible and we are already brainstorming reasons to have him pet sit :P He takes such good care and consideration of the pet’s needs. I saw how the other pets looked up to him for safety and comfort. He took great care of our anxious girl. Thanks Kirk!”

About: I have cared for friends' pets throughout the years and always enjoyed spending more time with them while also helping out a friend in need. I also have experience working in a shelter environment and volunteer at a wildlife rehab facility in Hancock County. I recently returned to school and am graduating as a licensed veterinary technician from UMA Bangor. I look forward to providing the care you need for your pets with the skills and knowledge of a licensed professional. I have a flexible schedule most days of the week, except Wednesday. I am generally an early riser if morning walks or check-ins are needed. Please feel free to reach out and we'll make a plan. Building a relationship with you and your pet is my priority. All animals have specific needs; knowing what those are as well as your expectations for care, walks, crating, treats, etc. will ensure a safe and positive experience.
About: My husband and I have always had dogs and cats. We recently said good bye to our 2 16 year old mini-doxies. We miss the pitter patter of their paws and are looking to fill that gap. Although we are not ready to be full time pet parents right now, we would love to take care of your pups. As we had a paralyzed doxie and one with diabetes, we are adept at administering medication and expressing male bladders. Are you in the area on vacation and need someone to watch your pup while you go on an adventure, we can help. Just send a message. Pick up/drop off may be available. I work out of the home 2-3 days a week and volunteer drive for a local organization. Your pup would not be left for more than 4 hours without me or my husband checking in. At Our Home: We have a small fenced in yard. No pet is left unattended when outside. Walks and hikes with your pup are always an option, either in the neighborhood or if they like to ride in the car, there are many trails nearby. At Your Home: I will follow whatever instruction you give me. My preference is to watch your pup in your home as they will be most comfortable there, but they are welcome in my home as well.
“It was love at first sight for Chuck and our dogs. He's an excellent dog and house sitter and we so appreciate his stepping in for us on short notice. Can't recommend him highly enough.”

“Jess communicated well before and throughout the stay, sent updates and pictures, and gave us peace of mind while we were away. When our travel plans were delayed, she was flexible and stayed later than planned so Rollo wouldn’t have to be alone too long, which we really appreciated. Most importantly, Rollo was happy and content when we got home.”

“Cleo was wonderful with my dog Crue. He immediately warmed up to her. She checked in with pictures and updates while she stayed with him. Would most definitely have her back and would highly recommend her”

“Julia was terrific! Our Stanley can be a little shy around new people, but she came and met him before spending several nights with him, and the second time she came he was so excited to see her! She sent us daily pictures, took him on lots of hikes, and took such great care of our little buddy. We are so thankful for her and won’t be using anyone else!”

“Our little dog was in the best of hands with Jessica. She kept us updated with how he was doing, stayed attentive to his needs throughout the weekend, and offered a safe, comfortable indoor and outdoor space to explore. Highly recommend!”

About: I have had and cared for dogs of all shapes and sizes my whole life. I have left a 20 year career in the medical field to pursue my dream of spending as much time as possible with fur babies (mine and yours!) I am trustworthy and understand fully how much your pets mean to you as I have two pups of my own. They will be safe and loved under my care. I am currently in the process of taking a dog walking and behavioral course through IAP College to further educate myself on caring for dogs. Whether I am walking, visiting or spending the night with your pup they will be my only commitment and they will have my undivided attention. I believe it is best for dogs to remain in their own home when their families are away if possible. I feel that it eases their stress to be able to stay in their own environment with their regular routine. My goal is to keep things as close to their normal routine as possible.
“Nicole is a very dependable house/dog sitter. She has excellent communication skills and keeps us informed while we are away. She sends photos and videos as well as texts. Nicole is not hesitant to ask questions to make her stay with Stanley more effective and enjoyable for him. Nicole administered medications without issue and closely watched Stanley as he had just begun a new medication. The house is always left tidy and we are confident that Stanley is in good hands.”

About: I am always the first to be called when a friend needs doggy daycare or house sitting with dogs, cats, and often other animals. I’ve fostered and found homes for rescues internationally and domestically. I’ve worked for a doggy daycare where I was responsible for 50-70 dogs with a crew of 2-4 people. I also spent a few months off and on taking care of 10-22 huskies while part of the herd were sled racing. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and enjoy seeing all of their unique personalities. I’ve loved animals since I was small. We always had cats when I was little, as well as ducks, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits, my turtle boy China B, parakeets, and a Senegal parrot foster. I was surprised with a rescue dog when I was 10, Hemingway. It was an amazing experience and I helped train Hemmy to be a service dog for my grandmother who was visually impaired. Winter rates are now $250/day for basic overnights, includes 3 pets. Will adjust include extra rates accordingly to animals and household needs. I’m self employed and have the flexibility to set my daily schedule around your animals needs and regular routine. Lots of scritches, play time and love are part of my commitment to your pets. I am available for short and long walks (depending on your animals needs and ability), playtime, companionship, love and affection, meals and snacks as well as monitoring medication if needed.
About: My name is Tori Six and I am 31 years old. I’m currently living in Milford, but willing to travel to surrounding greater Bangor areas. I have many years of experience with all animals. I was the owner of a lab mix, a mini dachshund, many Dalmatians, and multiple cats. I’m comfortable with any animal usually, you could call me Pocahontas. I have many years of experience with all aspects of training puppies, including some doggie sign language for commands. I have connections and great resources to parks/areas to play outside and walk. I am available for any pet care needs. I have knowledge of taking care of animals with medical needs from assisting with walking, changing, medications, etc. could do some minor grooming but not certified. I am very compassionate with animals and will treat them like my own family. I hope to be booking with you! I work remotely so have a pretty flexible schedule for any pets needs. I do not have any animals currently. I am a homebody who always prioritize the animals needs. I treat every animal I work with like my own family. Whether it’s your senior animal needing hand feeding or a young animal needing play time I’m there! Always open to anything you need.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Trenton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Trenton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Trenton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
