Katrina was GREAT! We were a little worried because we'd not gotten a chance to meet her before we got into town and we were 8 hours away from home but as soon as we met her we knew that she'd take great care of the dogs. She has two smaller dogs of her own that she kept separate from ours while we were there, but by the time we picked Hope and Lou up a few days later everyone was hanging out together. She was quick to update when I checked in on the dogs, but really, I felt comfortable enough that I only texted twice. I would absolutely leave them with her again when I'm back in the area.

Heather was amazing with our anxious, energetic German shepherd mix, Nox. Heather, her husband & their kids did great with Nox and she was a happy, tired pup when we picked her up. You can tell they are comfortable with and used to dogs of all kinds. Nox is terrified of thunderstorms & needs to take medication to help with her anxiety. Nox’s first night with Heather, there was a storm rough enough to knock their power out for several hours. Heather made accommodations to soothe Nox, administered Nox’s anxiety medication in the middle of the night and made sure Nox was able to be as comfortable as possible. If you’re looking for a sitter that will treat your pet just like you would— this is a great fit. They’re super flexible with time, availability and have lots of hands to help. I have nothing but positive things to say about our experience with them!

Monica and her family exceeded our expectations in taking care of our babies. From the get go Monica was very professional and diligent in understanding our dogs needs, schedules, etc. She sent us daily updates and photos, which were so nice to see as this was our first time using Rover. They always seemed to come at a great time when we thought “I hope they’re doing okay and we miss them” Overall our experience was a 10/10, our dogs had an amazing time, and we will absolutely use Monica again!

We could not have found a better dog sitter than Cassandra. Our old dog Pippi was a challenge - multiple accidents - yet Cassandra was so understanding and tolerant! And her children were great with Pippi, giving her belly rubs and lots of attention, so much so that she practically purred.

A last minute callout for work brought us to Kaitlyn, and we are so blessed that it did. One of our three dogs isn't a great traveller and needed a home for a couple days. Kaitlyn was able to take her and from minute one it was a perfect experience. Great yard and sleep space for our girl. Great updates and videos of how the stay unfolded. Optional elevated care like grooming and special treats. Kaitlyn is a true care-giver and our pup was in the best hands. If you need a temporary home for your beloved four-legged fur-baby, look no further. Thank you, Kaitlyn!

About: What sets us apart is that dogs aren’t just pets in our home—they’re family. We’ve been caring for dogs together since 2013, and our animals live fully alongside us in everyday life, from couch snuggles to family adventures. Our dogs are regularly vetted, deeply loved, and yes—often spoiled. In addition to long-term pet care, we’re proud foster parents with The Road Home Animal Project and have lovingly fostered over 22 dogs (and counting), each with unique personalities and needs. This experience has made us patient, adaptable, and confident caring for dogs of all ages, energy levels, and backgrounds. Your pup won’t just be watched—they’ll be welcomed into a calm, happy home with a whole family devoted to their comfort and care. Pet care is woven into our daily life. My husband works remotely five days a week, I work part-time, and evenings and weekends are open—perfect for one-on-one attention, extra spoiling, and playtime with our dogs who love having new friends. We care for pets like family, offering fenced yard play, neighborhood walks, and crate options when needed. Our friendly, sometimes vocal dogs enjoy playmates, and pets are fully included in our home with supervision, comfy furniture, and attentive care.

About: I'm a huge animal lover - big and small! I've had dogs and cats my whole life. We have a sweet cat who absolutely loves every dog that comes through our home. We currently have a Great Dane and Great Pyrenees as well as chickens, 1 guinea pig, 2 rabbits and fish. I'm all about making sure our babies are happy and healthy and living the best life we can provide to them. After doing much research and lots of experience, I've learned a lot about a dog's language and how to respect them. I will treat your pets as if they are my own and will love on them just the same. I can't wait to meet your fur-babies! Rover is my full time job right now so I’m available to take care of your pup throughout the day as need be, whether that’s just hanging out or a walk or potty break, etc. I have a large fenced in yard and our 2 dogs will gladly keep your pup company and enjoy running around. I can easily crate if need be as well.

My experience boarding our pup Willy with Megan and her family was wonderful. Several weeks before our boarding and before I even confirmed the booking, Megan invited me to visit and make sure our pup would be comfortable or a good fit. Only once it seemed like it was going to be good for all of us did move forward. Willy stayed for a week. Megan was not only attentive to his usual routine but kept us updated with photos and notes about how he was feeling (he gets anxiety over storms). I really made us feel good about our decision to try Rover for the first time and Megan in particular. We'd definitely do it again. Thank you, Megan!

Every sitter on Rover has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.

89% of Toronto sitters also include daily walks in the neighborhood during dog boarding stays. You can also request photo and message updates throughout the stay so you can see which Toronto landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Toronto home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Toronto.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Toronto sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
