“Taylor is incredible. We had HVAC issues while she was house sitting, and she was SO gracious and communicative. She even made sure to rearrange her plans to make sure our HVAC repair tech could check on things. Also, we get so many updates and pictures. As someone who is also a pet sitter and has been on Rover as both a sitter and pet parent since 2016, I can confidently say that Taylor is among the best.”

About: I’ve taken care of many types of dogs, from small to very large. I have experience with senior dogs and raised my own dog as a puppy. I can give medications as needed and live an active lifestyle so walks are a breeze! I’d love to help with your fur babies (also have cat, guinea pig, and chicken experience). I am a grad student so my schedule is quite flexible with breaks in between for potty breaks or walks. I can also do in home stays as needed. For in home service I follow the instructions of the owner to a T. I make sure to try and maintain the pets routines as best as I can. I treat your homes how I’d want mine treated!

About: I’ve been the primary caregiver for my own dog for 11 years, handling daily walks, feeding, grooming, medications, and vet visits. I’ve also cared for family members’ and friends dogs with a variety of needs, ages, and personalities. In addition, I’m an active member of Texas A&M LEIAS, a women’s organization founded on leadership, academics, and service with a strong focus on animal rescue. This involvement has strengthened my sense of responsibility, patience, and commitment to providing attentive, compassionate pet care. As a college student, I’m very organized with my time, and pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I plan my schedule around classes to ensure pets receive consistent walks, feedings, playtime, and attention. I’m committed to maintaining each pet’s normal routine and can be flexible to accommodate specific needs, whether that’s daily check-ins, extended care, or overnight stays. Safety and trust are my top priorities. I carefully follow all owner instructions, keep pets secure, and monitor behavior and health closely. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I strive to create a calm, structured, and loving environment. My involvement in LEIAS and animal rescue–focused service has reinforced the importance of accountability, compassion, and treating every pet with the same care I’d want for my own.
About: I know how stressful it can feel to leave your pet with someone new. My goal is to give you peace of mind by treating your pet like they're part of my own family. I am a certified Vet Asst with a lifetime of pet experience. After years of caring for pets, I've learned that every animal has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I take the time to make sure each pet feels understood. I currently have 3 dogs and 8 cats, including a few fosters. Pet care is my full-time job, so I am available throughout the day. During each visit, your pet will get more than just the basics. They'll get attention, playtime, enrichment, and the care they're used to receiving at home. You can expect clear communication, timely updates, and plenty of photos so you never have to wonder how your pet is doing while you're away. I don't just see pets as another booking on my calendar. I see them as family members who deserve patience, attention, and care.
About: I have cared for all ages of dogs, including my own senior dog. I am detail-oriented and can accommodate many requests, including sending all the cutest update pictures! I do not have a dog of my own right now but miss them and would love to come work with yours. I am a graduate student right now with classes that are mainly in the morning, so I have most of the rest of my days free to schedule any needs you and your fur baby may need. I work remotely in the afternoons so I would be able to spend as much time as necessary with your pet. I have multiple bedrooms if your pet needs its own space to relax, or they can roam freely at my home or yours. I know being away from your pet can be anxiety educing, so whatever you need to feel comfortable, I want to help.

About: What sets me apart is the love and care I bring to every pet I look after. I’ve always had a special connection with dogs and understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and unique way of showing affection. From energetic pups who love long walks and playtime to older dogs who prefer a little extra patience and cuddles, I enjoy getting to know what makes each pet feel happy and comfortable. I treat every dog as if they were part of my own family. I’m attentive, patient, dependable, and genuinely enjoy the little things—from a happy tail wag at the door to cozy cuddle time. My goal isn’t simply to “watch” your pet; it’s to make them feel loved, safe, and cared for while you’re away, giving you peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. I work full-time Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, but I’m available after 5 PM on weekdays and have full availability on weekends. I truly enjoy spending my free time caring for pets, giving them plenty of love, attention, walks, and companionship. Your pet’s happiness and comfort are important to me, and I’ll treat them like family while you’re away. I provide loving, respectful care in your home while keeping your pet comfortable in their familiar environment. I follow their normal routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and plenty of attention. I’m respectful of your home, attentive to your pet’s safety, and will keep you updated so you can feel confident they’re happy and well cared for.

“Words can’t even begin to express how great Tamara is. We left her with our sweet, very energetic, large and in charge pup! She took the time to send me pics and updates throughout her stay at our home and was very responsive throughout our vacation. Our home and our pup were in very good hands. She even left us some goodies upon our return! I truly can’t thank her enough.”

About: I am new to Rover, but have taken care of animals, big and small, all my life, and hope to grow my Rover profile at the same time I build my career as a recently-graduated archaeology Ph.D. student. I fully believe that our pets are parts of our family, and they deserve to be cared for that way. Our pets are just one part of our lives, but we are their whole lives, and I believe that is a gift, and means that taking care of pets is an honor. I grew up with dogs, cats, and even the occasional snake or two, and am familiar with animals at every stage of life. I am also used to a wide variety of energy levels and sizes, and have cared for small dogs, big dogs, house hippos, and tiny tornadoes (I also recognize that sometimes tiny tornadoes come in cat-form). I am very comfortable walking and playing with large, energetic dogs, and can provide them all the stimulation and engagement that they need. I am also familiar with the unique needs of cats, and have never had a period in my life when I did not have at least one cat as a pet. I am completely at ease with litter box care, playtime, and snuggle time. I am also very comfortable caring for geriatric animals, and animals that require medication. Throughout my life, I have cared for many pets, both cats and dogs, at the end of their lives, and even currently have a 20+ year old cat that requires some extra attention. I understand that older animals are special cases, and they deserve all the attention and care we can give them in their twilight years. I will care for your animals like my own, and will love the opportunity to make a new furry friend! I am currently an adjunct professor, and I have my own archaeological nonprofit, but this means my schedule is mostly up to me. This gives me ample time to spend with your pets, as well as flexibility to fit into your schedule. I will care for your animals in your home according to their routine and your expectations. I understand how important routine is, and how important environment is for pets to feel safe and secure.
“From the first interaction through Rover, Eva was timely, professional, friendly, and thorough. She was a great a communicator and very thoughtful with my doggies. I could tell I would very much appreciate how attentive and interactive she was, with my pets as well as giving me updates while I was away. She had the initiative to ask detailed questions about my pets and took notes, offered to bring treats for them and even played with them outside. Since one my dogs has incontinence issues, she even brought items to protect my furniture. Overall, I am very pleased with Eva and encourage anyone to have confidence in booking with her. I look forward to rebooking with her myself.”

About: I am a well experienced vet nurse now in undergrad with high hopes for med school! I've been a dog trainer all the way up to ICU nurse. I think I can handle most any situation so you can leave your home and your babies comfortably with me! I'm going to school online on a self paced basis so pet care is a perfect fit for me and my schedule. My 86 year old neighbor loves my 1 year old miniature poodle Boseman and loves her little farm so long stays away are okay with the both of us. My poodle Boseman has free range of my place but is also fully kennel trained if need be (used when I worked long hospital hours). He gets walks around our pond or goes next door with my neighbor's 50+ chickens, 2 cats, and 3 dogs. He gets fed twice a day and plenty of treats (super high metabolism lol).
About: I’ve been caring for and raising dogs for over 10 years, and I currently have a rescue poodle named Zeke who I’ve had for 3 years. He’s spoiled with homemade meals, gets two walks a day, and plenty of playtime chasing balls. I treat every dog I care for like family—because that’s what they are. My goal isn’t just to walk your dog, but to make sure they have fun, feel safe, and enjoy their time out. I’m attentive, experienced, and genuinely passionate about dogs. Whether your pup is high-energy or needs gentle care, I’ll tailor the experience to what they need most. Currently, I’m in between jobs, which means I have a very open and flexible schedule to care for your pup throughout the week. I’m available most days, mornings or evenings—just not Sundays, as I observe the day for church and rest. Your dog will always get my full attention when they’re with me! When I walk your dog, their safety and happiness are my top priorities. I use secure leashes and harnesses, avoid high-traffic areas, and pay close attention to each dog’s pace, energy level, and comfort. Whether it’s a slow sniff-around-the-block or a playful, active walk, I tailor the experience to your pup’s needs and treat them like family every step of the way.

About: ❗️If your house has any signs of fleas, do not book with me.❗️I have always grown up with pets in my house hold, i have always token care of them when no one else did and gave them the love they deserve. We are with them their entire lives, while they are with us for only a portion. I will be gentle and patient with them until they gained my trust. I can bathe them and play with them too, i cannot groom though. But i can make them smell all yummy! College student! I do go to college all year, even in the summer! I don’t have an outside job, so the only thing taking me away from your furry family is school! I’m always open and i can always get to your fur baby’s when needed! I have 1 doggy of my own and she has fear aggression towards other people and dogs, i’ve learned to work around her personality and to go forward. I bathe my dog by hand inside my home every 1-2 months (depends on if she gets dirty, she’s got a self-cleaning coat) and she gets fed every night! (she eats at her own pace so i just top off her bowls) She is trained to sit, paw, talk, wait, and lay down! She is my first daughter and my soul dog! I love her to death!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Tiki Island walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Tiki Island maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tiki Island choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Tiki Island. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
