I have past experience caring for senior animals (including dogs, cats, and horses) as well as animals under age 1 (including dogs and cats). I often volunteer at the Birmingham Humane Society! Although I am not offering training services, I have experience training and am willing to uphold any training regimen. I have experience shadowing a household pet veterinarian as well as an equine veterinarian. I also have farm animal care experience. I love playtime and am very attentive! I am very excited to care for your pet! I am available to sit weekends and after 7 pm on weekdays. I can do daytime feedings or walks 2 or 3 times a day. I am available for boarding weekends and weekdays after 7 pm. My apartment is the perfect environment for boarding! I am available for boarding some weekdays all day, but I will need notice 5 days and to coordinate in advance for boarding on a weekday before 7 pm due to shifting schedule days. For walks, let me know an estimated average walk time for your pet so that they are comfortable and happy! For sitting, I will clean any pet messes if needed. Require a decently clean home and closer distance if overnight sitting is needed. Please, let me know of any concerns ahead of time. For boarding, I am in a one bedroom apartment with no other pets and decent play space. I have no toys, litter boxes, or cat trees so will need to provide their own. I live next to a large unfenced park. The apartment is clean and tidy and safe for pets. The apartment building also has a pet bathing station available if your pet needs cleaning. If you are concerned with a public bathing station, I am perfectly comfortable bathing your pet in the bath in my apartment. Please, let me know of any health or hygiene issues beforehand. Medications/allergies/health concerns are extremely important to me.

About: I will take great care of your pup! I have a fenced in backyard and a safe neighborhood for walks, allowing your pup to have fun while she/he is missing you! I work from home, allowing me the flexibility to let your pup out for regular potty breaks and go on walks. I’m available for daily pet sitting or overnight pet sitting. We have a fenced in backyard and safe neighborhood for walks. My husband and I have a 4 year-old pup named Tag who loves other dogs— especially if they like to chase him! I can easily crate your dog if needed.

About: For as long as I can remember, there have always been pets in my life! Whether that was in my own home growing up, in a family member's home, at friends' houses, etc. I have often been the go-to person when it comes to caring for them when their owners are out of town. From walking, feeding, playing, administering medication, and more, I have absolutely loved getting to care for pets of all sizes and ages. As for my own pet experience, after moving to Birmingham in 2018 I applied to become a foster through Two by Two Rescue and began fostering (and quickly failed) with my sweet 13-year-old Pekingese, Max. He was truly the light of my life and we were the best of friends! He taught me a ton about how to care for senior dogs. Before his passing in 2021, I rescued my cat, Mews, and although she's a little hesitant around other pets she stays in her own space! At my own home, I do have stairs but have no issue helping any senior pups or dogs afraid of going upstairs feel comfortable. I used to have to carry Max all the time, haha. I'm also comfortable with pee pads as they used to be a staple in my apartment. I'm not particular about whether or not your pet is create trained and have no issue if they're not! As long as they'd be okay around my cat, I'm more than happy to let them roam around as they please. There are plenty of sidewalks around my apartment for walkies and we're close to a community park as well! Discussing my work schedule is something I do before my meet and greets just so we both have an understanding of expectations. However, my full-time job is a hybrid environment so I'm able to work remotely usually 2 days out of the week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) to care for your pet. On days I am in the office, I'm happy to run by your home during my lunch break if you're close to my office in Hoover. At my home, there is plenty of walking space to take your pup out and get some exercise. We can visit a local park near my house if that's something they'd enjoy. I'm also happy to crate your fur baby if needed.

“If I could leave 10 out of 5 stars I would! Amanda was wonderful and we could not have asked for a better experience. Besides being kind, gentle, and thoughtful, she was very caring and gave our dog lots of attention. We had multiple pictures and videos, which were so nice. She took Oliver on walks every day, not down the street, but to a park every day. She also fed him home cooked chicken (with my approval) to try to get him to eat (picky eater!). I know Oliver had a great time and it was so nice not worrying about our little boy! We will definitely use her again! Thank you Amanda!”
