“Josh was amazing with my Gypsy. I have always left her with a family member but Josh is now my official pet setter. He is caring and treated my dog as his own. He stayed at my home and took care of it like it was his own. I would highly recommend him as a pet setter. He is five stars all the way.”

About: My childhood was surrounded by dogs. When I was 12, I had to completely take care of 4 pit bulls, a Dotson, a mixed breed medium sized dog, and 3 cats. I have watched a few friends and family's pets over the years. Before I moved here, I actually helped my cousin take care of his senior husky with low energy that needed shots for a medical condition and a 2 year old German shepherd with all the energy in the world. My foster mom also bred pugs for a living, and have had to help the momma pug give birth while my foster parents were gone. I also have a 4 year old female Black Mouth Cur named Ava, that I have had since 6 months old, and a 2 year old male pitbull terrier rescue named Bosco, that I have had for a year and counting. He is full of fear and needs a lot of patience to work through it, but after 5 months of touch and go work, he now knows what play is and has his own toys! He also is scared to eat or seems to not know what his feeding bowl is, but after different ways to show that feeding time is okay, he is slowly gaining the weight he should be at! Treats were his sweet spot for knowing it is a safe place, and my sweet Ava sped the process for getting him comfortable in his new home and now commandeers my clothing to sleep with in his bed. Due to Bosco being a rescue and has become very protective is why I can't offer in home sitting in my home but am open to dog sitting at client's homes. I am currently a new stay at home mom. I take care of my two boys and my two fur babies. I am more than ready to help others with their fur babies. Due to behavior of one of my dogs, I would not be able to comfortably care for your fur babies in my own home, but I will do the utmost care for your fur babies in your home! Give me all the rules you need followed; Outside during certain times, feeding strategies, don't sit in a certain spot or area in the home. Nothing is too much to handle! I have even taken care of dogs with potty issues and needed baths for their health care and hygiene of your home.
“Jessica was absolutely wonderful with my two fur-babies, Layla and Mocha! She was reliable, responsive, and caring, and I really appreciated her willingness to meet ahead of time to learn about my dogs' needs and routines. She went above and beyond expectations to take care of my pets and my home and prepare my house for my return, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire her again. Highly recommend!”

“Tyler is a great sitter! I was fortunate that he was available on very short notice. He came to meet my 3 dogs and was up to the level of care I expected. He is very good with communicating and unafraid to ask questions. I believe he took great care of the dogs because they were fine when I came home and there wasn't anything unusual in their behavior.”
About: I have experience with animals my whole life and even more after doing rover for 2 years now. I treat all animals as if they are my own! I work full time away from home but my bf Riley works from home. I would be the primary caretaker Wednesdays- Saturdays but other days it would be my bf watching the dogs at home until I get home. We are an active family and would love to take your fur babies on adventures with us if that's something you'd like! NOTE: Any daycare request that is over 9 hours will be an extra $5 Pick ups or drop offs after 9PM will be an extra $5 *House sitting price will vary depending on the situation/distance *We only watch pups together that we know will get along and usually no more than a couple at a time. We have a fully fenced yard and a dog door so you're pup could have access to outside all day. We have space for crates if you need your dog to sleep in a crate at night, otherwise they are free to sleep wherever they are comfortable! My cat is an indoor/outdoor cat so she has free roam therefore all dogs must be respectful of cats. She does like to play but not roughly chased. I will take lots of photos of your pup during their stay as well!
“Super sweet, and took such wonderful care of my fur babies. She instantly felt like family, and took care of my babies like her own. I will DEFINITELY be using her again when I come to this area visiting family.”

“Niles is AMAZING! We have a nervous chihuahua that never calms but Niles was able to get him to settle so well! We had a great experience and have already booked for another house sitting! I felt so much better this vacation knowing Niles was with my boys!”

“Lexy was awesome! We were very nervous leaving our crew of 4 pups 2 cats and 1 lizard while went on vacation for a week. She had no problem dealing with the shenanigans of our 1 year old pup while bonding with our other middle aged and senior dogs. She followed all of our instructions to a t and sent plenty of sweet updates and photos. It felt like she really bonded with everyone and seamlessly jumped into their routine. She asked questions whenever she wasn't sure about something to make sure she got it done right. She happily brought in all of our packages and mail and left the house in great condition. We feel so lucky to have finally found someone we can trust with our squad. Definitely would recommend!”

“Lima Sierra did an amazing job caring for our home and animals while we were away. She arrived on time for our meet and greet and was immediately kind, easygoing, and wonderful with our dogs. On the first day of the house sitting, she even arrived early so she could get settled and make sure she had a good understanding of everything. Throughout our trip, she sent pictures every day and took excellent care of our dogs, chickens, and ducks. She also went above and beyond when she noticed that our garden irrigation had sprung a leak. She fixed the problem and even hand-watered the garden to make sure everything was taken care of. When we returned, the house was clean, all of the animals were happy, and everything was in great shape. It honestly felt like we had simply left for a few days, everything continued running smoothly, and we came home and picked up right where we left off. That is exactly what you hope for in a house sitter. We would absolutely recommend Lima Sierra and would be very happy to have her stay again!”

“Megan was a pleasure to have taking care of our dogs and our house. She went above and beyond to make sure our dogs were well taken care of and happy. She also exceeded our expectations by keeping the house clean and even cleaned things we did not expect her to! We would highly recommend Megan to anyone looking to have someone take care of their dogs/home.”

“Sierra was amazing!! We always get nervous leaving our fur babies and this was our first time using Rover and we will definitely use Sierra again! She was good with communication, sent lots of photos, and so accommodating, we had to extend our trip due to weather and she stayed last minute for another night. Our house was also left so clean! Highly recommend!”

“Rene was a great help with watching my Lyndii for me. While she stayed and watched her she walked her and played with her. She sent me pictures and let me know daily how she was doing. I will be using Rene again definitely. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing a dog sitter.”

As of August 2026, there are 351 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sutcliffe. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sutcliffe walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sutcliffe maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sutcliffe choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
