“My experience with Melody was fantastic she went above and beyond, truly the best pet sitting experience I have had. This was a super last minute booking after my previous sitter cancelled and she responded immediately and was willing to take over and show up instantly. She was super communicative and made me feel very comfortable, even going as far as giving me updates when she was leaving the house for less than 30 minutes. Not only did she send plenty of adorable photos of my cats but she cleaned up as well leaving my house in better shape than I left it. I would recommend Melody in a heartbeat she is the best.”

“McKenna was amazing! This was my first time leaving my pups home for the weekend and having someone come house sit. McKenna helped put my mind at ease when we did the meet and greet. One of my pups left an unexpected surprise (my pup threw a tantrum and destroyed a furniture) for McKenna and she was so nice and cleaned it up for me. I came home to happy pups and I would recommend her. I’d have her back!”

“Nicole was wonderful! Our dog and cat were very well cared for and relaxed and happy while we were away. She gave us daily updates with pictures and was very responsive to our requests. We will definitely book her again!”

“Kristina did a great job watching our two dogs and cat while we were away for a wedding. Our dogs can be challenging as they are both large and have their quirks being rescues but she embraced them and their quirks. She regularly sent us pictures and updates and even left an adorable Polaroid pic of the pets for us. Not only did she make sure they were well taken care of and loved but she also left our home in better shape than we left it. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.”

“Alice was awesome. She was able to even have our Chihuahua warm-up to her. Provided great information and updates throughout her stay. Dogs were happy chickens were chickens in the house was left just the way we left it.”

“Our second time booking Alyssa and it was just as great as the first. She’s so patient with our little rescue Chiweenie and will absolutely be our go-to sitter going forward. I’d give her 100 stars if I could. ❤️”

“We had an amazing experience with Alivia and would recommend her to everyone looking for a dog sitter! She took such good care of our dog while we were gone. He’s kind of anxious around new people and she was so kind and patient with him, she sent us videos of him wagging his tail and being goofy :)”

“Have called her several times now and will continue to schedule. She comes with her dog, Wilbur who is cute and cuddly. He even played with Cedar! Cedar is usually tired after the visits. Highly recommend!”

“Natalya was very friendly, communicative, and took good care of the pets and house. I really appreciated her picture updates, and she even took my dog on an extra trip to the park! Would definitely re-book”

“Absolutely amazing. First time having someone stay and Kellie made sure we knew our babies were cared for and spoiled and left the house probably better than we left it.”
“Chris meet and exceeded my expectations. He took great care of my two girls and I could tell they were comforted by his presence when I received my photos. I was able to fully relax on my vacation and not worry about my puppers. I have experience with quite a few boarding and pet sitters and Chris has been the best. House was also well cared for and as clean as when I left it. Very respectful and reliable sitter.”

“Incredible young lady! I felt so at ease once I met her and she was very receptive to all the things! I felt very comfortable when I left my baby boy in her care. I received quick responses and updates! I will hire Lexi again!”

About: While I don't have a dog of my own at this time (due to both of my cats being absolutely terrified of them), I grew up with them and absolutely love and adore them. Every time I go to the Saturday Market I make it a point to pet and love on (with permission) as many dogs as I can. Whenever I visit friends or family with dogs, I'm most likely to be found on the floor next to them to ensure I get the most snuggle time as the dog is comfortable with. I've taken care of animals, including my own, for my whole life. I have my own medically complex cats that I take care of daily who each have their own medication and food plans, along with frequently watching my roommates cats when they are out for work. I've pet-sat for a friend for a number of years before I moving out of that area, which included both cat and dog care. I have loads of experience orally medicating cats and keeping track of difficult food plans. I've walked numerous dogs over the years and love getting to pet and interact with them. I left my job in April of 2026 and Rover is the first thing I have explored since then. While I have ongoing obligations on Wednesday and Friday evenings, the timing is flexible. I have lots of time to ensure fulfilling visits with your pets, making sure I can give them everything they need while I am there. I like to chat with folk about their animals ahead of time and learn some of their needs and habits. If they are shy - where do they prefer to hide and how best can I help make them comfortable with my presence. If they are abundantly friendly - how can I best spend my time giving them the right kind of care and affection to meet their needs (I have a cat who was wants to be next to/touching a human at nearly all times - having someone drop in for 20 minutes for food and some affection would NOT be enough for her). Every animal is unique, and our care should reflect that. I also make sure to clean/tidy up the area while I'm there and try to leave it just as clean, if not more, than it was when I got there.
“Deborah did an awesome job with our little mini dashund for a 5 day trip. She was appropriately communicative so we didn't have to worry about our little dude and he was very well cared for, as was the house!”

About: 🐾 Lifelong Pet Lover & Trusted Caregiver 🐾 Hi! I’m Isabella — a devoted animal lover who has grown up surrounded by both dogs and cats my entire life. Caring for animals isn’t just something I do; it’s truly part of who I am. From playful puppies to senior cats with special needs, I genuinely enjoy building trust and connection with every pet I care for. I currently own three cats, so I fully understand feline personalities — from the affectionate cuddle bugs to the independent observers. I also have hands-on experience administering cat inhalers, which means I’m comfortable caring for pets who require extra patience, attentiveness, and consistency. Your pet’s health and comfort are always my top priority. In addition to my personal experience, I’m a volunteer with the Humane Society, where I’ve worked with animals of all temperaments and backgrounds. This has strengthened my ability to read body language, adapt to individual needs, and provide calm, compassionate care — especially for shy, anxious, or rescue pets. I’ve also grown up with dogs and am very comfortable with their routines, energy levels, and unique personalities. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding schedules, or simply keeping them company, I make sure every pet feels safe, loved, and cared for while you’re away. I pride myself on being dependable, detail-oriented, and communicative. I follow instructions carefully and love sending updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. I don’t just watch pets — I treat them like family. I’d love the opportunity to care for your furry companion and provide the same love and attention I give my own. 🐶🐱💙 I am available every week day, including weekends. I am available early morning and late nights, unless I specify otherwise. And if I do, it will be posted somewhere on my account. Whatever you need me to do with your animal, I can do. As long as me and the animal are safe and have a healthy environment, I am completely fine with taking care of the animal the way you need me to.
“Erin was AMAZING! We are so thankful to of found and worked with her. She took such good care of our pups. One senior and one adult dog plus a cat. She made them feel at peace while we were away and couldn't of asked for a better outcome. Will work with her again.”

“Fantastic pet sitter! Aoife was very attentive to my pets and even stayed a little longer when my flight was delayed to make sure they weren’t alone too long. Highly recommend her! I will definitely book her again.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sunnyside walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sunnyside maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sunnyside choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sunnyside. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 88% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
