“Sarah is detail oriented, communicative, and has an intuitive approach to caring for pets (in my case, cats). I have one social and one fearful cat, and after just three short visits she was already beginning to win over the fearful one. She sent photos during every visit and provided meaningful updates. I so appreciate her attentiveness and making both my cats and me feel comfortable while in separate places. Thank you Sarah!”

“Dominique was FANTASTIC with Bowie! She was able to accommodate our last minute request, she set up a meet and greet, and sent lots of photos and updates. We would absolutely book her again!”

“Lucy, once again, was outstanding as a pet sitter/pet caregiver. I am thoroughly and completely satisfied with her services. I highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs. She is reliable, trustworthy and kind. Thank you, Lucy!”

“As always, Courtney was wonderful with our kitties. She always keeps us posted and sends us pictures with each visit. We appreciate the peace of mind we get when she takes care of McGee & Carson. ❤️”

“Nikki is our wild puppy’s new BFF. She takes our wacky, overboard instructions in stride, is a calming presence for our busy pup, and is a wonderful communicator before, durning and after her visits. Can’t recommend her highly enough.”

“Ally has been absolutely wonderful. We recently got a mini goldendoodle puppy and she has been spending a few hours per week caring for and training her when we can’t be home. She has been flexible, very reliable (has even stayed extra a few times), and has taken such good care of our curious little Summer. She has given us loads of recommendations (vet, grooming, food, etc) based on her experience as this is our first time having a puppy. Ally even brought Summer a few of her own dog toys. She has really gone above and beyond our expectations and we are thrilled!”

About: I have taken care and loved all ages of dogs my whole life. From owning them to watching the neighbors and friends. I have also worked in a professional setting for about 5+ years and have had experience caring for all different breeds and their specific individual needs. In addition, I have training experience with Penn Vet Working Dog Center as well as some classes I attended at a training school! I’m grateful for all the experiences I’ve had and all the ones waiting to be had! I have currently care for 3 different types of animals (cat, gecko, and turtle!) I did have a dog as well however she sadly passed recently. I am able to crate dogs as well as provide medications and keep up with dietary restrictions. I am able to walk as well as play and spend time with the pups! For cats I am able to scoop litter and give as many or as little cuddles as the cat may enjoy! I’m good with feeding as well as administering meds to cats
“Emma is so friendly and a great cat sitter! She was very through in asking about their care and treated them well. My cats can be rambunctious but she did a good job at separating them for feedings and playing with them. She also sent great update photos with the rover cards throughout their care. Would highly recommend!”

“Ryan was amazing! He is so thoughtful and thorough, and he even managed to befriend my cat who's usually wary of strangers. My cats were happy and well taken care of after my time away. Thank you so much, Ryan!”
“Second time Amanda has watched our dog and cats. She take such great care of our menagerie. She gives thorough updates, first and and beyond and just generally loves pets. Will 100% engage her again.”

“So glad we found Rachel! Ace warmed up to her right away, and he was SO excited when I got home the day of her first drop-in…I swear he was trying to tell me he had a friend over 😂. Rachel is a great communicator and so sweet! Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve loved and been around animals since childhood. Growing up, my family had both cats and dogs. As an adult, I now have 2 cats of my own. I’m very passionate about human-animal connection. I am currently a graduate student taking night classes two days a week. This is something I’m hoping to fill my spare time with :) I view and treat animals with the same respect as I do people. Pets need not only the necessities, but a high level of emotional attention.

About: I am looking forward to hosting dogs in my house. I have a 4 year old dog I recently adopted. He enjoys having other dogs come to visit! I'm a teacher so I am home weeknights and weekends to care for and play with your dogs. Your dog can sleep in my room or can be crated if that is preferred. I am also excited to explore my new neighborhood with dog walks in the evenings. I have recently moved to a new home that has a small front yard. There are trails nearby that I can use for dog walks.
“We had a wonderful experience with Jenna and will absolutely use her again. This was our first time hiring her to care for our cats, and she exceeded our expectations in every way. Jenna was communicative throughout our time away, sending regular updates and photos, and was not afraid to reach out with questions when needed. It gave us great peace of mind knowing our cats were in such attentive hands. She also cleaned up any pet messes and went above and beyond, helping with our garden while we were away. What really stood out was how quickly our cats warmed up to her. One of our cats is usually shy and tends to run and hide when meeting new people, but she stayed put and happily accepted head scratches from Jenna, a true testament to her calm and caring demeanor with animals. Jenna is reliable, thoughtful, and clearly loves animals. We came home to happy cats and a well cared for house, and we highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter.”

“We rely on Heather to take care of our cats anytime we go on vacation. She is amazing as far as taking care of their individual food needs and attention to each cat! Heather communicates every day about each cat and also provides photos of each! I highly recommend Heather for your pet's care!”

I was so grateful to have Savannah take care of my two young boy cats while I was away recently. There was a fight between the two of them and she handled it so well and with ease, separated them and was really mindful about caring for and monitoring them. She made it so much less stressful for this to happen while I was out of town. I highly recommend Savannah!

Lauren knocked my socks off like always. She treats my animals like they’re her own. I got constant text updates and beautiful pictures of my babies. I can tell that they were being well loved and taken care of, 10 out of 10 would recommend Lauren to anybody at any time.

Jacqueline took excellent care of our geriatric cat for the week. She gave him food and medicine, thoroughly checked and cleaned his litter boxes, and most importantly gave him lots of treats and love. She communicated updates proactively and left the house exactly as we left it. We would happily have her cat sit again.

We were privileged enough to have Ally care for our two cats while we went on an extended trip to take care of family business. Without a doubt, Ally is a professional and very caring for the four footed family members in her care. She is a strong recommend. There was a minor medical emergency involving our cat scratching herself too deeply, leaving an open wound. She alerted us immediately and we were able to arrange for timely vetting. We're glad to have met her through Rover and encourage you to seek her out for pet sitting you need.

Natalie was absolutely wonderful! My original pet care fell through last minute and I was able to book Natalie’s services the day we were leaving for our trip. She was quick with responses, very easy to communicate with, and took great care of my boys. Would definitely book her again!

Carolyn was absolutely wonderful with our cats while we were away keeping us updated with photos and messages. It gave us total peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. Highly recommend Carolyn to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sunnybrook. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
