“Petra made my experience here SO easy. Will meet you and sit and go over dogs needs. I haven’t met anyone more efficient than Petra! I felt safe being gone from home and leaving my pup with her. Highly recommended”
“Lori did a wonderful job petsitting my cat and 2 dogs for 4 days. She gave the dogs their meds, exercise, and regular potty breaks. She communicated updates with photos each day, which I greatly appreciated. I will definitely call on her again.”

“I really wanted to keep Brianna, but she communicates well when securing the job but her communication is hit or miss when sitting. Also, the last visit she was late and I asked for her to modify the visit to a drop in since she came late even after me asking for a cancelation. I still have not gotten half of my money back even after contacting Rover, which Brianna has nothing to do with. She was great with my pet and I appreciate that, but as a traveling fur mommy, communication is non negotiable and I still want my refund from Rover.”

About: I used to be a dog mom to a mini poodle, unfortunately he passed away at 17 years 🥹. I have experience managing reactive dogs. My fur baby was a rescue. I love my time with dogs because they are just pure joy! I work from home 4 days out of the week (7am-4pm). I typically commute to work on Wednesdays. My job is pretty relaxed and allows me to tend to any additional needs. I’m pretty flexible overall just need notice ahead of time. I am very trustworthy and customer service oriented. I like to ensure I know everything about the household I’m going to and any details about the fur baby that I should be aware of. My goal is to keep the fur baby safe and the owner happy.
“Alexia was a fabulous pet sitter for our menagerie! And she was a very courteous house guest/sitter as well. Pictures and updates were timely and our old old dog was happy. :). Will try and book her again!”

Because my schedule is highly predictable, you can count on consistent routines and timely updates for your furry family members. Keeping pets safe and comfortable matters most here. A spacious, completely enclosed yard offers plenty of room for supervised outdoor activity. The household runs quietly, adjusting smoothly to each pet’s habits. Crating happens when preferred by the pet or requested by you. Every detail, including feeding schedules, medications, and special directions, is followed exactly as given.
“Jackie was great with our cat and our home while we were away. She was able to recognize signs of stress and adjust the care she provided to make sure our cat was happy and comfortable (he is typically on the skittish/nervous side as it is, so we wanted to make sure he was in good hands while out of town). She also sent us photos and updates while we were away. She was very kind and respectful. We will definitely use her again in the future!”
“We LOVE Krishonna! She was available last minute and drove quite a distance just to watch our babies for a short overnight! We are soooo grateful!! Our babies were so happy! Krishonna sent us tons of pictures and even sent us videos! She even made the cutest bandannas for each of them!”

“Jessica is an exceptional petsitter. This was her first stay with our dog and 2 cats, and our first booking through Rover. In the past we've always used petsitters that had been recommended to us by friends, but when our regular sitter had to be out of town for a funeral unexpectedly, we decided to give Rover a try. I was drawn to Jessica's description of her approach with cats, stating that she "connects with each cat on their terms." Our cats have extremely different personalities, and one has a tendency to be anxious and very slow to warm up to people. It was important to me that a petsitter respect this cat's boundaries and take their time earning my cat's trust. Jessica blew us away in this regard. By the end of her weeklong stay, not only was our cautious cat seeking out Jessica, sitting near her, and allowing pets... our cat even slept in the bed snuggled up with Jessica on the last night of her stay. This far exceeded our expectations and is direct evidence that Jessica honored our cat's boundaries and allowed the building of trust to happen at our cat's pace. Our dog had been ill in the days leading up to Jessica's visit, and though giving him meds and cleaning up after him when he'd had loose stools wasn't a part of her originally expected duties, she never missed a beat. She kept us updated on his improving condition while we were away and went out of her way to make sure our boy was recovering well. He clearly bonded with her as many photos featured him cuddling up with her. Jessica's communication was superb. I greatly appreciated that she texted me early on the morning of the first day of the stay, confirming she was looking forward to being with our furbabies and that she would notify us that she had arrived. We got daily pictures and updates on all three of our furbabies without having to prompt her for them. She responded very quickly to every message we exchanged, both leading up to the stay and throughout the course of the stay. Our home was well cared for during her stay as well. She took care of making sure the trash/recycling was put out on the correct day, left things as neat as they were when she arrived, and even cleaned up after our messy eater of a cat, leaving the feeding space nice and clean for our return. Best of all, when we returned home, though our pets were excited to see us, it was clear that they weren't stressed by us being away. They clearly received lots of affection and Jessica had followed our care instructions completely. We couldn't be more pleased and look forward to booking with her again in the future.”

“Valeria was amazing! Truly had the best experience with her. She was so communicative and had great attention to detail. Cannot recommend her enough! We will definitely book with her again ❤️”

“Cindy did an excellent job keeping Peanut company while we were away and kept us updated with lots of pics. She was always responsive and I would gladly use her in the future. Highly recommend!”

About: I have experience caring for pets through helping family and friends with walking, feeding, and overnight care. In addition, I work in hospitality at a pet-friendly hotel, where I regularly interact with guest pets in a professional setting. When appropriate and with owner permission, I provide treats and assist guests with pet-related needs such as waste bags and general support to ensure a comfortable stay. These interactions have helped me become very comfortable around dogs of different sizes and temperaments. Through both personal and professional experience, I’ve learned the importance of being responsible, attentive, and respectful of each pet’s individual needs. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, cared for, and happy while their owners are away. Pet care fits perfectly into my routine because I enjoy dedicating time in making sure pets are happy, healthy, and cared for. I am very organized and flexible, so I can easily adjust my schedule to meet the needs of both pets and their owners! I am very dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable environment for those I care for. I strictly comply with the pet owner's specific guidance when feeding, exercising, or taking care of any particular needs. I make it easy for pets in a their owners home to feel like themselves by keeping them on schedule, giving them companionship, and providing regular updates. Safety and comfort are priorities, and I'm always attentive to their needs!
“Amanda was great! I was worried about my dog because she’s older. But she was very well taken care of and Amanda made sure Reese’s was in good hands! I will definitely rebook with her.”

About: When I was a child, I dreamed of becoming a vet. Nature, animals, and being active have always been a part of my life. I became a Fitness Professional who believes health & well-being are fundamental for humans AND for animals. I'm grateful for all LIFE and that shows in the way I embrace energy , the way I love to run & play myself, and that's what I provide to those that are under my care!! Security is a priority, water, food, a warm & comfortable shelter, a place to expand energy & many ways to stimulate interests are all I have to offer to your dog. I'm also patient - which I think is important because we all need time to learn & be understood.
“She was amazing, she took great care of my two pups, kept them both happy and well cleaned after. She gave lots of updates and photos. I will most definitely use her again in the future”

About: I have been pet sitting since 2017. Along with that I have plenty of experience working with animals considering I have been volunteering at animal shelters and veterinary clinics since 2016. I previously worked at Banfield Pet Hospital where I have bolstered my skills and experience with mostly dogs, cats, and some smaller animals such as hamsters. I am confident in my knowledge of dog and cat behavior; I have the ability to restrain, administer medications, basic obedience training, animal safety, and attentiveness to your pets unique personality and overall health . I am a full-time undergrad student, and I take all of my courses solely online. Meaning I am super flexible when it comes to scheduling. While caring for a furbaby at the client’s home, I am EXTREMELY huge on checklists and to do lists. This keeps me on track all day, ensuring that your pet is on a schedule so that I can create a routine that sort of helps me predict your pet’s behavior. I am very attentive, making sure that the pet is in my sight at all times, especially younger pets. Also, I do posses a certificate in animal first aid.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Stewart Woods
This was my first time using Rover and Lori made it a very pleasant experience. We recently adopted Kodi and were nervous about leaving him with anyone. When Lori mentioned her experience working with animals and her genuine love for them I was sold. I loved the pictures and updates. We were actually able to go out and enjoy ourselves without worry. I will definitely be reaching out to Lori again💛

Riley stayed with Dr. Teeth at our place for a few days over the holidays and she was wonderful. She very communicate, responsible, and respectful, she also made sure to send updates and pictures daily. She made great progress with our skittish baby in just a few days. We’re definitely going to use Riley again in the future and would recommend her to anyone especially the skittish babies out there.

Tamera did a great job caring for our pups while we were on vacation. She kept me updated the whole trip and made sure they were well cared for! Our house was just as we left it when we returned. One of our dogs hurt herself while we were gone and Tamera has continued to check on her.

I really wanted to keep Brianna, but she communicates well when securing the job but her communication is hit or miss when sitting. Also, the last visit she was late and I asked for her to modify the visit to a drop in since she came late even after me asking for a cancelation. I still have not gotten half of my money back even after contacting Rover, which Brianna has nothing to do with. She was great with my pet and I appreciate that, but as a traveling fur mommy, communication is non negotiable and I still want my refund from Rover.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Stewart Woods walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Stewart Woods maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Stewart Woods choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
