“Lori did an excellent job watching over our dog while we were out of town and made sure he was comfortable and that his needs were met. Lori was very attentive to our requests and made notes/sent us regular photos to keep us in the loop about our fur pup. We highly recommend Lori and look forward to requesting Lori’s services again.”

“Petra is the most reliable and reasonable pet sitter I have found. She is very friendly and knowledgeable about dogs. My pups love to see her when she comes over to let them out to potty. They get to run around and have fun.”

“I really wanted to keep Brianna, but she communicates well when securing the job but her communication is hit or miss when sitting. Also, the last visit she was late and I asked for her to modify the visit to a drop in since she came late even after me asking for a cancelation. I still have not gotten half of my money back even after contacting Rover, which Brianna has nothing to do with. She was great with my pet and I appreciate that, but as a traveling fur mommy, communication is non negotiable and I still want my refund from Rover.”

About: I used to be a dog mom to a mini poodle, unfortunately he passed away at 17 years 🥹. I have experience managing reactive dogs. My fur baby was a rescue. I love my time with dogs because they are just pure joy! I work from home 4 days out of the week (7am-4pm). I typically commute to work on Wednesdays. My job is pretty relaxed and allows me to tend to any additional needs. I’m pretty flexible overall just need notice ahead of time. I am very trustworthy and customer service oriented. I like to ensure I know everything about the household I’m going to and any details about the fur baby that I should be aware of. My goal is to keep the fur baby safe and the owner happy.
“Jackie was great with our cat and our home while we were away. She was able to recognize signs of stress and adjust the care she provided to make sure our cat was happy and comfortable (he is typically on the skittish/nervous side as it is, so we wanted to make sure he was in good hands while out of town). She also sent us photos and updates while we were away. She was very kind and respectful. We will definitely use her again in the future!”

A spacious, completely enclosed yard offers plenty of room for supervised outdoor activity. The household runs quietly, adjusting smoothly to each pet’s habits. Crating happens when preferred by the pet or requested by you. Every detail, including feeding schedules, medications, and special directions, is followed exactly as given.
“Amanda was great! I was worried about my dog because she’s older. But she was very well taken care of and Amanda made sure Reese’s was in good hands! I will definitely rebook with her.”

“Valeria was amazing! Truly had the best experience with her. She was so communicative and had great attention to detail. Cannot recommend her enough! We will definitely book with her again ❤️”

“Alexia was a fabulous pet sitter for our menagerie! And she was a very courteous house guest/sitter as well. Pictures and updates were timely and our old old dog was happy. :). Will try and book her again!”

“Kelly came in a very difficult time for us when we had a family emergency. Is answered immediately when we needed her and took great care of our dog and home. Kelly is truly special and I will absolutely use her again. Thank you Kelly!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for over 10 years and have experience with pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. As a past dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy and caring. I provide regular updates, photos, and plenty of love so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I currently work 3 nights a week and make plenty of time for walks and play time. I live on my own and provide a safe, quiet home environment. I have no pets in my apartment. The complex does provide a spacious dog park and the silver comet trail with plenty of safe walking space.
“Was absolutely great to have at the house! Cleaned up after themselves and my cats were pretty happy! She sent lots of pictures and my cats looked like they had a super fun time 💗”

About: When I was a child, I dreamed of becoming a vet. Nature, animals, and being active have always been a part of my life. I became a Fitness Professional who believes health & well-being are fundamental for humans AND for animals. I'm grateful for all LIFE and that shows in the way I embrace energy , the way I love to run & play myself, and that's what I provide to those that are under my care!! Security is a priority, water, food, a warm & comfortable shelter, a place to expand energy & many ways to stimulate interests are all I have to offer to your dog. I'm also patient - which I think is important because we all need time to learn & be understood.
About: I have had family pets since I was very young and I have cared for them and others since I was 8 . I began dog walking and sitting in middle school. I have two dogs and one cat. I get along well with animals and I respect their boundaries as well as pay attention to their needs. I am very flexible with timing and have my own transportation. I am extremely timely and reliable. I am a mother to two wonderful children and a current stay at home mom. I have a flexible schedule with a strong routine. I would easily be able to add in petcare to the mix for those needing a trusted caretaker for their pet. I have a fenced in yard where your pet could play I also have a designated area in my home for a dog to spend the night that would give them space, safety, and freedom to relax. Your dog would be very well taken care of and have a nice place to spend while their best friend is away.
“We picked Kristie to watch our dog and two cats and so glad we did. My husband says: Kristie did a phenomenal job taking care of the babies. She was so loving and caring towards them. She was just great and I never even met her!" Of course I got to meet Kristie when she came to meet our pets before our trip. Our 10-year-old border collie was recently diagnosed with an insulinoma tumor which in her case is in operable. This tumor causes her blood sugar to drop super fast which could cause seizures. Violet has only had two seizures but those were under our care. At first we thought to board her with the vet, we thought that would be safest but then we realized the vet closes at 7 PM and does not open again until 7 AM and she cannot go 12 hours without supervision. The vet clearly told us they go home at night and no there’s nobody to watch the animals that stay there. Violet must have snacks or meals every 3 to 4 hours.. Plus somebody needs to be with her in case she does have a seizure. Kristie had no problem with all my requests, giving Violet her medication and putting up with my many questions. Our pets were spoiled and loved on by her like they would’ve been by us. We were very nervous about going on this first week long business trip since the pandemic but Kristie made it fantastic. We were not stressed out and worrying about the pets the whole time because Kristie always managed to send pictures at perfect times throughout the day. Actually she took some of the best pictures of our cat Sophie that we’re going to have copies made. Kristie enjoyed our crazy, silly cat Jack as much as we do. The house looks great. Kristie could have trashed it and we couldn't care less we were focused on our pets Kristie truly is a godsend! From now on if we have a trip coming up we will only be picking Kristie, if she’s busy during that time we just won’t go! THANK YOU SO MUCH KRISTIE!”
“I got home to two pups who were excited to see me, but otherwise calm and happy. Dylan is a kind, chill presence and it seemed that Rocko and Hazel took their cue from that, and followed suit. They were obviously well cared for. The ability to remain home, for these two anyway, went a long way in giving me the peace of mind to be away for a few days. I would not hesitate to recommend Dylan to friends, neighbors or family needing care for their pets, nor will I hesitate to place Rocko and Hazel in Dylan's reliable hands in the future. Thank you so much, Dylan!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Woods Valley
Lori has been nothing short of absolutely amazing with our fur babies. This was our first time trying over night house sitting, and Lori gave us so much peace of mind while we were gone. Our 4 fur babies love her, and she treated them with so much love, just like they were her own. We will definitely be recommending her services, and reaching out for future pet sitting, as well. Thank you, Lori!!

Riley stayed with Dr. Teeth at our place for a few days over the holidays and she was wonderful. She very communicate, responsible, and respectful, she also made sure to send updates and pictures daily. She made great progress with our skittish baby in just a few days. We’re definitely going to use Riley again in the future and would recommend her to anyone especially the skittish babies out there.

I really wanted to keep Brianna, but she communicates well when securing the job but her communication is hit or miss when sitting. Also, the last visit she was late and I asked for her to modify the visit to a drop in since she came late even after me asking for a cancelation. I still have not gotten half of my money back even after contacting Rover, which Brianna has nothing to do with. She was great with my pet and I appreciate that, but as a traveling fur mommy, communication is non negotiable and I still want my refund from Rover.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Woods Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Woods Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Woods Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
