“Cindy did an awesome job caring for our elderly pup Faith! Sent photos and kept us updated so that we could relax knowing she was well taken care of. Would highly recommend!”

“Lori was great from start to finish! She was super flexible setting up a meet and greet and our dog fell in love instantly. She was amazing at exercising a very energetic dog and giving him lots of love. She was super communicative and I enjoyed getting photos and videos. She went above and beyond with cleaning as well. When our flight got delayed she was willing to stay extra to help us out. We will definitely be reserving Lori from here on out! Rio, the dog, will be thrilled!”

“She was amazing, she took great care of my two pups, kept them both happy and well cleaned after. She gave lots of updates and photos. I will most definitely use her again in the future”

“Rachel was fantastic. She arrived on time, showed our pups love and attention while she house sat, and went above and beyond keeping the house up while we was here. I would recommend her to anyone.”

“Kasianay is the BEST sitter we’ve ever had and we’ve had quite a few! We were traveling for our wedding out of town and Kasianay was super attentive, provided ample updates, left our house better than when we left! I can’t say enough about her and we will definitely use her in the future!”

“Ashton was great. She took the time to visit me and my pet before the scheduled booking, taking great notes and ensuring my pet would be familiar with her. Will be using her again.”

“Jackie was great with our cat and our home while we were away. She was able to recognize signs of stress and adjust the care she provided to make sure our cat was happy and comfortable (he is typically on the skittish/nervous side as it is, so we wanted to make sure he was in good hands while out of town). She also sent us photos and updates while we were away. She was very kind and respectful. We will definitely use her again in the future!”
“Carole was an absolutely wonderful pet sitter! She stayed with our 1.5-year-old rescue puppy and our 11-year-old cat, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She was friendly, reliable, and consistently sent plenty of updates and photos, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. Carole spent quality time caring for and playing with our puppy, making sure his energy and needs were met, while also being respectful of both pets’ unique personalities and boundaries—especially important for our older cat. It was clear she truly cares about animals and takes the time to understand them individually. We would highly recommend Carole to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive pet sitter, and we”

“Jessica is very kind and friendly. She is responsible and updated us everyday with pictures of Belle and comments on how she was doing. Jessica took very good care of our home as well and we highly recommend her!”

“Lauren was absolutely amazing!! I had to find a sitter last minute, and I loved her bio the moment I read it. She responded quickly to my request and made sure to nail out the details for my dog’s stay. I could tell she’s experienced and loves animals, and so could my dog! She sent regular updates and pictures, and when I saw my dog frolicking in her backyard and snuggled up later on in the evening like he forgot I had dropped him off was all I needed to set my mind at ease haha! Lauren is a fantastic sitter and I will absolutely be booking her again. Thank you so much!!”

“Jayne was responsive, shared tons of photos and kept the house super clean. It was our first time using Jayne and I felt very comfortable right away. Our dog has special needs and she took great care of him. Would definitely book her again.”

“First time Nmantendi watched our 3 dogs and it won’t be the last. She is fabulous! Great communication, my dogs absolutely loved her and went above and beyond. I highly recommend. I am so happy to have found her!!”
“Stephanie was a life saver. I had a short notice booking. She was able to fit in a meet and greet, which was very important because we have a high anxiety dog. She was sweet and calm with my dogs, and also playful for my high energy dog. And our high anxiety dog started to warm up to her after a day or so: She left our home clean and orderly. Would definitely recommend!”

“She did such a great job staying with our two old lady dachshunds! Gave us the peace of mind we needed while we are away, with lots of photo updates, responsive, on time, and took great care of them and our home. Will definitely be having her come stay with the girls again!”

“Amanda was great! I was worried about my dog because she’s older. But she was very well taken care of and Amanda made sure Reese’s was in good hands! I will definitely rebook with her.”

“Naho was so sweet. She took great care of my cat and communicated with me daily. She went the extra mile to find things to do with my cat, making snacks for her and even made the cutest crochet hat for her! Love her!”

“I really wanted to keep Brianna, but she communicates well when securing the job but her communication is hit or miss when sitting. Also, the last visit she was late and I asked for her to modify the visit to a drop in since she came late even after me asking for a cancelation. I still have not gotten half of my money back even after contacting Rover, which Brianna has nothing to do with. She was great with my pet and I appreciate that, but as a traveling fur mommy, communication is non negotiable and I still want my refund from Rover.”

“After having some issues with sitters for a few long trips, we used Rover for the first time for a beach vacation. We have 4 dogs, and they can be a bit of work, so we had to make sure that we had the right person to care for them. George has a very relaxed demeanor and put the dogs at ease. He made sure to get up early with them and that they were fed on time and let out according to their schedule. With three of them being rescues, they are a bit skittish, and George was very patient and was methodical about how he handled them. I get very anxious about leaving the dogs, and I will be booking George again for an upcoming trip because I know that I don’t need to worry about them when he is at the house.”

“Carolina stayed with Maggie for a week while we were in Portugal. Besides being very sweet and accommodating, she went above and beyond just watching Maggie. She got the mail, watered the flowers outside, checked the skimmer baskets in the pool for us, dealt with contractors who were working on the pool and yard, dealt with Comcast because the contractors cut the internet line and washed and changed the sheets. The house was left exactly as it was when we left. Best of all Maggie, who doesn't like strangers to touch her, warmed up to Carolina like we have never seen before. We received pictures and videos of Maggie playing with her toys with Carolina and letting her give her belly rubs like she does only with family! Carolina was our second sitter because we were gone for 2 weeks and couldn't find anyone available for the whole time, so she met with the first sitter who went over everything with her before she left. We would definitely book Carolina again and now we feel more comfortable leaving Maggie, when before it was very much a challenge and other options hadn't gone well (drop ins, staying at other people's houses). Most of all Maggie would love to see her again! She's a dog whisperer!”

As of August 2026, there are 4,121 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Walker Place. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Walker Place walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Walker Place maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Walker Place choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Walker Place. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
