“Cindy has been amazing with our puppy! This was her third week puppy sitting for us, and I couldn’t be happier with how well she takes care of him. She’s reliable, attentive, and clearly loves what she does. Every time I come home, my puppy is happy, well-exercised, and relaxed. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!”

“Jackie was great with our cat and our home while we were away. She was able to recognize signs of stress and adjust the care she provided to make sure our cat was happy and comfortable (he is typically on the skittish/nervous side as it is, so we wanted to make sure he was in good hands while out of town). She also sent us photos and updates while we were away. She was very kind and respectful. We will definitely use her again in the future!”
“Rachel took great care of our dog and of our house while we were away. She made us aware of any pet or house concerns that came up right away. Our home was the same as we left it and our dog was well cared for and loved while we were gone. We would recommend her to others looking and we will use her again in the future!”

“Carole was an absolutely wonderful pet sitter! She stayed with our 1.5-year-old rescue puppy and our 11-year-old cat, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She was friendly, reliable, and consistently sent plenty of updates and photos, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. Carole spent quality time caring for and playing with our puppy, making sure his energy and needs were met, while also being respectful of both pets’ unique personalities and boundaries—especially important for our older cat. It was clear she truly cares about animals and takes the time to understand them individually. We would highly recommend Carole to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive pet sitter, and we”

“Stephanie was a life saver. I had a short notice booking. She was able to fit in a meet and greet, which was very important because we have a high anxiety dog. She was sweet and calm with my dogs, and also playful for my high energy dog. And our high anxiety dog started to warm up to her after a day or so: She left our home clean and orderly. Would definitely recommend!”

“Kasianay was fantastic! She provided detailed updates and took meticulous care of my fur baby, treating her as though she was her own. I felt very confident that my cat was in excellent hands! She also made sure my place was spic and span before I returned to town. I cannot recommend her highly enough!”

“Lori was absolutely amazing! Gave me multiple updates and pictures a day and made sure my baby girl wasn’t lonely while we were gone! Highly recommend, and will absolutely be using her services again!”

“Linque was so good with our two dogs, and kept us up to date with lots of pictures and updates. I can’t imagine us having picked a better pet sitter for our first experience with Rover. You definitely won’t go wrong picking Linque for your pet sitting needs.”

“Jessica took amazing care of our dogs! This was our first time booking through rover and getting an in-house sitter, but we will definitely be coming back to her for this. She was very professional in setting up the booking, doing a meet and greet with our dogs at home, and sent us consistent picture updates throughout the sitting. We have very high energy dogs, and she handled them well and spent lots of time playing with them in the backyard which is their favorite thing to do, despite the heat. We're grateful to have a great house and dog sitter we can trust in our area!”

“Jayne was responsive, shared tons of photos and kept the house super clean. It was our first time using Jayne and I felt very comfortable right away. Our dog has special needs and she took great care of him. Would definitely book her again.”

“Emma was amazing with Alex! He looked so happy in every update and photo she sent, which really put my mind at ease while I was away. She was incredibly patient with him, especially since he can be a little difficult when it comes to eating, and I was so happy she got him to eat. I couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter!”

“Lauren was absolutely amazing!! I had to find a sitter last minute, and I loved her bio the moment I read it. She responded quickly to my request and made sure to nail out the details for my dog’s stay. I could tell she’s experienced and loves animals, and so could my dog! She sent regular updates and pictures, and when I saw my dog frolicking in her backyard and snuggled up later on in the evening like he forgot I had dropped him off was all I needed to set my mind at ease haha! Lauren is a fantastic sitter and I will absolutely be booking her again. Thank you so much!!”

“Absolutely hands down the best care we could have asked for. The pups were treated like their own by Mai and Jonathan. Daily updates and photos of the dogs were sent. And they cleaned the house before they left. Which was absolutely not necessary but much appreciated. Highly recommend them, and will definitely use them in the future.”

“She did such a great job staying with our two old lady dachshunds! Gave us the peace of mind we needed while we are away, with lots of photo updates, responsive, on time, and took great care of them and our home. Will definitely be having her come stay with the girls again!”

“Amazing dog sitter! The first time I ever felt comfortable leaving my dogs while on vacation. My dogs lover her! She sent pictures, kept the house in order, and most importantly spoiled our dogs. Will definitely use Summer in the future!”

“We couldn’t have asked for better care for our dogs! Rebekah and her daughter Sadie were absolutely wonderful- kind, attentive, and clearly passionate about animals. From the moment we met them, we felt completely at east leaving our dogs in their care. They kept us updated with photos and messages, which meant so much to us while we were away. Our dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly well loved when we returned. We are so grateful and would not hesitate to book with them again. Highy recommend to anyone looking for responsible, loving, and trustworthy dog sitters!”

About: Dogs have always been a big part of my life, and I genuinely love getting to know each dog’s unique personality. Whether your pup is full of energy and loves to play or would rather spend the day cuddled up on the couch, I’m happy to meet them where they are. As a dog owner myself, I know how nerve-racking it can be to leave your dog with someone else. That’s why I treat every dog like they’re part of my own family. I have experience caring for puppies, adult dogs, and senior dogs, and I’m comfortable with walks, feeding, administering oral medications, and sticking to your dog’s normal routine. I’ll also send regular photo and video updates so you can relax knowing your best friend is happy, safe, and well cared for. work from home most of the week, so I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets lots of attention throughout the day. I also have the flexibility to work from other locations if needed, so I can still make your pet’s care a priority. My goal is to make sure your dog feels comfortable, loved, and cared for while you’re away, just like they would at home. I have two friendly dogs of my own who love having new friends to play with. If your dog prefers their own space, I can easily accommodate that as well. My neighborhood is great for walks, and I’m also close to a dog park for pups who enjoy getting out and exploring.
“This was our first time using Angela and she was amazing. Asher fell in love with her right away. She was so communicative throughout our trip and sent picture updates throughout the day. She even got Asher some cute Halloween treats to enjoy! We will definitely be using Angela when we go out of town!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Burnt Hickory Farms
I got home to two pups who were excited to see me, but otherwise calm and happy. Dylan is a kind, chill presence and it seemed that Rocko and Hazel took their cue from that, and followed suit. They were obviously well cared for. The ability to remain home, for these two anyway, went a long way in giving me the peace of mind to be away for a few days. I would not hesitate to recommend Dylan to friends, neighbors or family needing care for their pets, nor will I hesitate to place Rocko and Hazel in Dylan's reliable hands in the future. Thank you so much, Dylan!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Burnt Hickory Farms walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Burnt Hickory Farms maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Burnt Hickory Farms choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
