About: Lifelong cat expert and passionate dog sitter! Even though I’ve grown up, watched, and cared for cats since I was born, I have then transferred this experience to the pups around me. Whether in my family or in my close circle of friends, I extend my compassion and care to all animals In the morning when I’m up for work I feed my cats. About: With 10+ years of experience caring for my own dog as well as cats of all temperaments, I am eager to offer quality, safe, and attentive care to pets in my area. I know how stressful it can be to have to find quality animal care last minute, but I absolutely love animals and hope to be able to take some stress off of both owners and their pets. I love working with big dogs and high energy breeds, but am open to caring for all kinds of animals! My full-time role is as a Park Ranger, so I have an extremely flexible schedule ranging throughout the day. I typically know my schedule for the month by the 15th of the previous month and am willing to work around everyone’s schedules to find the sweet spot of what works best for us. ✨🐴 Alongside experience with dogs and cats, I have experience caring for horses and pack mules! I have veterinary science experience in Equine Hoof & Limb from college, as well as several years of experience caring for therapeutic riding horses, National Park Service pack mules and horses, and show horses. I am a full-time park ranger with a very flexible schedule. I’m not trapped in a strict office schedule and have my month planned out by the 15th of the month prior, so I can absolutely plan care with a shorter or longer term notice. Due to my prior experience caring for pets and with veterinary science education, I am a very careful caregiver. For all animals, but especially for cats, I will regularly make sure I am not bringing anything in that could spread communicable diseases or endanger the animal in any way. With all animals but specific with dogs, they will not be left unattended to roam even in fenced areas that they are used to - I know how beloved animals are to our families, and I will always have an eye on your pet while they are in my care! Additionally, I will not bring in any other animals or guests that are not agreed upon with the owner beforehand - I believe that if you hire someone to watch, walk, or care for your pet, you deserve 100% clarity over who they are, what their experience is, and who/what is entering your space.

About: I was raised alongside litters of puppies and my life has revolved around animals ever since. My family consistently had 8-10 dogs in our home, ranging from big dogs like labs or American bulldogs to smaller dogs like French bulldogs or terrier mixes. Since I was in elementary school, I was tasked with feeding, grooming, walking and playing with all of our dogs. As an adult, I've helped my parents out in watching their many dogs (my dad has 12!) when they are out of town and pet-sitting for friends and family. I adopted my own two cats, who I've had since they were kittens, and love them with almost my whole heart - I have two ferrets that take up some space in my heart too. Ferrets are notoriously difficult pets to take care of, so if I can handle them and all their energy & mischief, I think I'm prepared to take care of just about any creature. I have been conscientious, responsible and caring for my own pets and I promise I'll treat yours the same way :) I work 9-5 on a hybrid schedule but, as a manager, I have flexibility in terms of remote work — I can always change my schedule around to accommodate yours! I need advanced notice for overnight bookings, as I commute into the city twice a week. I can always switch my-in office days with enough of a head's up, so please reach out if my current calendar availability doesn't align with yours! We may be able to work something out. Unfortunately, I know the feeling of coming home from a trip and realizing that some little things were unattended to by a friend I'd trusted with my pets: the water fountain was half full, the litter box hadn't been scooped in a few days, their 24/7 bird streaming YouTube video wasn't on (lol). Of course my pets were still fed, but it didn't feel like they were cared for the same way I would have. I promise that won't happen if I am entrusted with your pet. I am very good at noticing and handling those little details, even if you forgot to mention them, because that's what I would want. That said, I am great at following pet-care instructions, and I'll surely feed, walk, play with (and love) your furry friend according to the schedule you set out.

“Melissa is a wonderful pet sitter! She did drops ins for my two cats. She washed dirty bowls that my cats used after eating. I thought that was so thoughtful of her to do this. She also took pictures of my pets , the pet food she fed them, as well as the cat pen area that she cleaned, everyday. In addition, she came over the day it was supposed to snow, on very short notice, for additional drop in visits. I asked her if she could do drops ins the day before, for this day. And even though it was short notice for this additional booking, she agreed to do the drop ins. I was relieved to not have to travel back home, an hour away, in inclement weather, the next day. I am so grateful for her hard work and for excepting my last minute booking, without much prior notice. Melissa is a reliable , flexible and kind pet sitter! I highly recommend her!”

I am familiar & comfortable administration medications, or fluids. Before I entered Vetmed, I found my connection to animals, by dogsitting frequently. Not to mention, the handful of pets I’ve had. I have been dogsitting for multiple years, with all different kind of breeds. Being in Vetmed and working in the ER, I have extended knowledge and experience when it comes to taking care and watching your pets. I work full-time Sun-Tue, leaving the rest of the week to care for your pet(s). During my work week I am unavailable to sit pets since I work morning straight to night. But any other day (with enough time ahead planning wise) I am free to watch and love your pet! I care for pets in my home by making sure gates are secured and collars are always on! i live in an apartment so their safety is my number one priority. I do not have a backyard for them to hang, so I go out on multiple walks a day with pets to ensure no accidents happen and that they are getting the chance to go to the bathroom, stretch their legs and keep active.

I treat your pets like my own, I have a fenced in yard and I have experience giving medication, your pet will have the best walks and I offer the best cuddle sessions with your pups or kitties! Your pet will get the best care with me as I treat all pets like my own leaving no one behind, whether your pet likes long walks or just chilling on the couch I'm your girl! If your pet needs meds or any special care just let me know and we will get it done!! I love to interact with your pups and kitties! I love playing games with pups such as “go find it” (it involves treats that are approved by you for your pups and placing them around the house to work their minds) or find me (hide and go seek) and obviously the best walks ever!! If your pets has a favorite movie/show (I know everyone has one) please let me know and I will get that show/movie on ASAP!!! Depending where you are located I love going for walks especially on hiking trails so if your pup likes that we can definitely get that done! If your pup has separation anxiety let me know what soothes them, maybe it's a blanket with your scent or a favorite show/channel they like.
