“He did not succumb to the eye hypnosis trick my overeating dog uses to convince people she hasn’t been fed in weeks. He was not driven away by the chaos that ensues when a human enters the house. All this and he still came back. Thanks! Great job! Pups love him! Hire him! Woof!”

“Holy Cow Maggie was the best with our cat and dog. She was friendly, on time for her visits, sent daily updates, followed directions and I had nothing to worry about. If she’s available, book her!”

“Nadaly is SO good with my dog! She arrived early, spent time with him, walked him, and played with him!! She made sure that he had everything that he needed and that he was comfortable before she left. The booking was very last minute so I’m grateful that Nadaly was able and willing to help. I recommend her! Thank you so much for taking such great care of my boy, Nadaly!”

“We went to New York this week and Phineas watched our 2 cats (and our house). He is very friendly, sweet, and was super great with Gus and Abby. Abby is normally shy and hides, but she warmed up to him right away. How wonderful it’s been to go on vacation, especially so far away, and to not have to worry about anything! Phineas will always be our go to when we go away. He’s amazing! 🤩 So grateful we found him! ❤️”

About: History: My family adopted two puppies when I was in high school and I trained them both. Although they remained in my mom’s care, I continued to pet sit them throughout their long 18-year and 15-year lives (so, I’m experienced with senior care!). As an adult I adopted two dogs from two different animal rescue organizations. My first dog, Odin, was rescued from a situation of severe neglect and abuse. He was not trusting of humans, had significant health issues, and had become quite feral. Odin quickly became my soul dog. I worked very hard to gain his trust, give him proper training, give him proper medical care, and give him the best, most adventurous life I could. He passed away a couple of years ago as a happy, healthy, well-trained, and so loved pup. He continued to have health issues throughout his life because of how poorly he was treated earlier in life, so I am very experienced with dogs that have special treatment, diets, and/or needs. It is because of how well I was able to rehabilitate Odin that I was allowed to adopt my second dog, Brida (whom I still have!). Brida was also rescued from a situation of severe neglect and abuse. With Odin’s help, and a lot of love and patience, Brida is now a well-trained, loving girl that has become my absolute best friend. She still carries trauma from things that happened prior to me adopting her, so she’s timid and is still not very trusting of adult men or reactive dogs. Children make her nervous, mostly because she hasn’t had much long term exposure with kids. Brida only ever interacts with other animals that I walk and/or take care of after owner consent and success meet-and-greets. Brida has been on longterm pet care stays with me with a couple of regular clients, but she also enjoys staying at my Mom’s house for sleepovers, if need be! Brida ADORES all the dogs in her life - ranging from gentle giants to squirmy, energetic puppies - and loves playing chase. She does not understand how to play with dogs toys, so she will never steal another dog’s toy or bone (unless she has watched them use it first, and she’ll practice when she thinks no one is watching her). Brida is OBSESSED with cats. She respects kitty boundaries, and would follow them around in fascination all day everyday if she could. Present: I have availability year round, and a lot more availability during the summers. My services range from walks, check-ins, overnight care, and more. We look forward to getting to know our pawsome community here in West Michigan better! 🐾 My typical availability includes afternoons, evenings, and weekends. My summer schedule allows me to offer all day availability or multiple time frames of availability per day, with occasional restrictions. My dog, Brida, is fed twice a day (morning/evening), gets let out 3x per day, goes on 1-2 walks per day, and has free range of our living space. Outside, she is typically on a leash or stationary lead. I do have experience taking care of crate-trained pets as well. When providing long term care, I typically request a personalized schedule to be provided so I can best ensure a regular routine for the pet.
“Nicholas and Caitlin were so great! They communicated well and sent pictures, showed up promptly for the check ins and seemed to really enjoy spending time with our boys most importantly you could tell the dogs really loved them. We have big boisterous dogs and they are not for the faint of heart-Caitlin and Nicholas didn’t bat an eye and even won over our shy guy. We will absolutely be booking again in the future.”

About: Growing up I’ve always had a love for animals particularly dogs. I don’t think there has been a point in my life I’ve lived without a dog or two. Now as an adult I’ve turned that passion into dog sitting and caring for others pets. It’s hard to find someone you trust and feel comfortable with as this is dog is part of your family. I would love to help with that. I’ve been a dog sitter for over 26 years now through word of mouth. I have personally owned many chihuahuas, huskies, shepherd mix and a coonhound. I specialize in providing care for older dogs who require special attention and a safe, comfortable environment. Additionally, I have extensive experience with dogs who suffer from separation anxiety, helping them feel secure through extra attention and dedicated time. While I am particularly familiar with smaller breeds, I have also cared for dogs of all sizes throughout my career. If you're looking for someone who will treat your dog with the same love and care as their own, I would be delighted to help. I’m currently a stay at home mom with older kids in school (8,14,17 and away at college 19 years old). During the day it would be a quiet relaxed environment. I have a passion for dogs and love helping pet owners with any behavioral issues or support as I care for their pets. I’m able to make the dog comfortable and have enjoyed the bond I create with every dog I watch. My goal is to help those relax while gone knowing they don’t have to worry about the care of their pet. While I normally have one dog at a time, occasionally there may be days when boarding and doggy day care overlap or I may do both on a case by case basis but I will do my best to inform owners ahead of time and accommodate owners and pets accordingly. I first would want to know how you care for your dog in your home. From there I try to adjust how I watch him or her in my home so the pet is comfortable doing what they are use to. Communication is important so I can understand what the needs are and provide a safe environment.
About: I have had family dogs ever since I was born, and have been fully responsible for them as early as 15 years old. I have provided house-sitting and doggy daycare for numerous family friends, and have taken care of my mom’s 3 dogs - one of which is a Great Dane (huge) and a senior dog that needs help getting up and down stairs. I am available for dog walking in afternoons during the week, and certain weekends given my personal schedule. Depending on your home location, I can do drop-ins during my lunch hour to let them out / play with them! I am flexible so just reach out and ask! I currently have a senior beagle and live in an apartment. Therefore I am primarily focused on going to your home for dog walking needs!

About: Expert in aquarium animals and cats because of my axolotls, cat and senior cat. I’ve taken a liking to dog care since I was 12 years old. I work Monday-thursday from 6-10, so my availability lies before 5:30 on those days with a little more flexibility on nights and weekends. For those that need help those specific times. I have basic knowledge about dogs: food, house, walks, and handling. Though I’ve never owned a dog you may want to communicate any special instructions to me beforehand.
“What an amazing experience to be able to be gone for a long day and know that Millie was loved and well cared for by Lexi!! We definitely will set up more dates with her! Thank you so much!! 😊”

“Taylor was absolutely amazing! She went above and beyond our expectations. Our cats are pretty shy when it comes to new people but they loved her instantly! We are so grateful for taylor! ❤️”

About: I have lived with many different dogs over the years and like being around them. I currently don't own a dog because I live in an apartment and want to have a yard if I plan on owning one. So walking and caring for them gives me the experience I need for my own someday. Right now it's just part time but by summer I am hoping for full-time. I can take Dogs for walks or spend time playing with them. I am also more than willing to pet sit if needed. I also enjoy just chilling with cats. I currently do not own any pets although I have owned cats and horses in the past. I am currently just enjoying taking care of others peoples pets as that fits my lifestyle best at the moment. I am more than willing to give meds if needed and if I am sitting with take time to walk dogs or cats if they need it. I also don't mind grooming daily if needed as well.
About: Growing up my family always owned one or two golden retrievers at a time and instantly fell in love with the breed. I worked at a dog boarding/day care facility for about 3 years. I’ve worked with many different types of breeds along with all sorts of temperaments. With that came taking care of dogs of ALL ages. I’ve handled up to 15 large dogs at a time, also handling cats. Absolutely loved my job and hope to continue working with animals:) I work at a School in Grand Haven, Monday-Friday till around 4p.m. (Sometimes later) So, my evenings are open to walks & drop-ins. My weekends are still available for house sitting, drop-ins, and walks! I was lucky enough to grow up with a mom that did full time pet sitting at one point and got to tag along on all her trips. I also pet sit for family and friends. Including overnights, walks, and administering medications, eye drops, pills, ect. So, I know how important it is to be mindful of someone’s else’s home and their four-legged (sometimes three) loved ones.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Spring Lake
Autumn was great! I was fortunate to be able to book her for daily drop ins for walks and potty breaks after my eye surgery. She was very responsive and communicated with me if she was even a few minutes late. Miss Frankie really enjoyed her daily visits. Would definitely book with her again.

Mackenzie did a fantastic job caring for my cats while I was away. She paid close attention to their individual needs, was incredibly kind and thoughtful, and made me feel completely at ease leaving them in her care. It was clear my cats were comfortable and well looked after. I really appreciated the updates and the level of care she provided. I would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate cat sitter!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
