“Angela was very communicative while checking on my cat and even went so far as to bring in packages when my mail hold didn't take! Lovely sitter and I'll definitely be using her again.”

“Lisa was great! I could tell the kitties loved her because they were calm and relaxed when we returned. This was our first time working with Lisa but I will be reaching out to her again for sure.”

About: I have taken care of various species of animals since I can remember, I have studied different anatomy’s, different behaviors from different species, and it is truly something I love to do. I have cared for animals in each stage of life, from bottle feeding to senior dogs. This gives me the ability to know what each life stage requires to thrive. I work part time at an animal clinic which typically schedules me from 8a-6p(ish) Monday and Tuesday, and wed-fr I work half days either from 8am-1p or 1p-6(ish). This allows me free time on weekends and morning or afternoons most days of the week to care for your pet(s). If I find I am schedule otherwise that is something I would be upfront about. I typically have time to go walk/let out pets during my lunch (depending on how far away you are located) allowing them to have some free time and a potty break. My pets will never come in contact with yours (unless stated otherwise and approved). I do still live with my parents allowing my family/personal pets to be taken care of.
“We had a fantastic experience with Breana! She was incredibly accommodating in setting up a meet-and-greet on short notice despite my and my husband’s hectic work schedules. Communication was excellent throughout, with great pictures and thoughtful updates from each drop in visit. She was wonderful with our shy kitten and quickly earned our trust. We will be rebooking next time we need a sitter and can confidently recommend Breana to anyone looking for reliable, caring pet care.”

“Kiersten was an amazing sitter for our 2 dogs!! She visited when sheduled and provided very detailed report cards and lots of pics for each visit. Looking at the pics, we felt at ease and did not worry about their care while we were away because they looked very happy and content. It is obvious Kiersten has a true passion for animal care and we will definitely be booking with her again!! ❤️”

“Aubrey is an excellent sitter, she went above and beyond. She took amazing care of my cats, cleaning liter perfectly and giving them their wet food. She is a quick responder and really helped me feel my cats were super safe!”

About: I've grown up having dogs and cats. I love farm animals. I take care of others people's pets like my own. My husband and I have two dogs named Bonnie and Rufus. I am a stay at home wife. So pet care is the best fit for me. I also love animals so I really enjoy taking care of pets. I currently do not have a fence in yard. My dog Bonnie stays indoors. I can use a collar and leash. I can also use a crate if needed.
“Denise has been patient with Willow Moon’s “work for my trust” attitude. She finally gave her the belly. I’ve been waiting for that moment. I definitely trust her with my baby, she is Willow Approved, and that’s not an easy approval to get.”

About: With over 30 years of pet care experience, I have dedicated my life to providing compassionate, reliable care for dogs, cats, and other animals. My love for animals began in childhood and has grown into a deep understanding of their needs and behaviors. I specialize in taking care of puppies, working with anxious pets, and building trust with animals of all temperaments. Whether it's daily walks, playtime, feeding, administering medications, or simply spending quality time keeping them company, I'm happy to stop by as often as needed. I treat every pet as if they were my own, ensuring they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you're away. Your pets will be treated like family in my care. My priority is to keep them happy, healthy, and comfortable, while providing you with peace of mind knowing they are receiving the same level of care I would give my own pets.
“Jessie has been absolutely amazing. My dogs are a bit of a handful and I was a little worried about introducing a new person into their routine but it hasn't been an issue at all. It has been such a relief having someone dependable and caring that can drop in on them and I don't have to be concerned about it! Thank you Jessie!”

About: Hello, My name is Amber. I have pet-sat a variety of pups ranging from 1 year old, to 13+ years old. Growing up, I always had cats and dogs to love and take care of. Animals have always had a special place in my heart, especially Dogs. Dogs are caring, genuine, and compassionate creatures that I would rather spend my time with than most human beings. I work remote so I am always readily available to tend to your pups needs. I have a fully fenced yard and also 2 pups of my own to keep yours company. We have lots of toys and space for your pup to enjoy. I work remote so being available and home all day allows me the time to give your pup(s) the attention they need! This allows for flexible drop off and pick up times as well. I have a fenced in yard and also a pup who loves to play. If your pup is crate trained I have no problem crating them and following their normal daily schedules.
About: I am a fur mom to 7 dogs, 1 cat and fish. I have had animals in my life since I was a teenager. I had a dog sitting business years ago and loved it. I have senior dogs now and have even rescued senior dogs and they lived with me until the end. I have fostered for rescues and even been a foster failure and adopted. I currently work full-time but still can stay at your home to watch your babies. I love dogs, cats and fish. I have had animals since I was a teenager and had a pet sitting business in Alabama before I moved to FL. At one point I had over 20 dogs in my home lol. Now I prefer to stay at my clients home but can still keep your baby at mine if you need. I promise to give your baby the love and attention he/she needs and deserves because they are babies with fur coats and should be treated like it. I will do whatever needed in my clients home, check on your pets at your home or your pets can stay at my home. I have my own pack myself.
“Anne is amazing! She was very communicative, reliable, friendly and trustworthy! Not everybody can handle our six furry ones but she mastered it like a pro! Will be using her from now on any time we need to travel ?”

“Tonya was very personable with me and my dogs when she came to meet us. I ask her for a one feeding a day since they have a doggie door to go out when they want . Tonya came daily and sent pictures as well as a message to me. She went over and beyond and cleaned my dogs bowls, brought in my mail, and even stayed a while on her feeding visit to spend time with them. I am amazed with her service since I have never used Rover before . I felt guilty leaving my babies but she gave me comfort knowing she assured me of her love for my dogs. Thank you Tonya and I will continue to use you in the future.<3”

About: Hi! I'm Lydia. I'm a former zookeeper and animal trainer living in Panama City, FL. I have always loved animals and I've had pets my whole life. I currently have a cat and a parrot. I've cared for lots of different types of animals, from fur to feathers and beyond, so if you have other pets that need care while you're away, I'm your girl! I'm also comfortable caring for dogs that need medication or have special needs, blind, deaf, etc. I’m not able to provide boarding but I'm happy to stay with your pet in your home. I promise I will take great care of your fur babies while you're away. Lots of love is guaranteed! I’m currently between jobs so my schedule is flexible. If and when that changes, my updated availability will be reflected in the app. Thank you for understanding. Establishing trust between myself, the dog, and the owner is critical, which is why I require a meet and greet before accepting any new clients. It’s important for me to understand your dog’s routine and environment so I can provide quality, consistent care to them while you’re away.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Southport. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
