About: My name is Laura and I am come from a long background in animal care in zoos and aquariums and have animal training experience using positive reinforcement (operant conditioning). I would be happy to help train your pet/animal or take them on long walks. I love being outside and have had dogs my whole life. I currently have two dogs of my own, a pit/lab mix and an Australian cattle dog. I currently work Monday-Friday, but am available on weekends anytime (Saturday and Sunday) and some evenings (6-8pm) on weekdays. I would be happy to come by your place several times throughout the day/evening to care for your pet. Safety is my number one priority. When I take animals for walks we are safe around other animals and people. I have two friendly dogs that love to play that and would be happy to socialize your dog with mine as long as they get along with other animals.

Lots of room for my dog to run and play. Someone’s home for the majority of the day, and they made sure my pup was comfortable and happy at all times. I will definitely be using them in the future.”

“Cynthia is amazing. My dog Gracie stayed a week while we vacationed in Salvo. Every morning Cynthia sent me pictures of my pit lab, Gracie, enjoying morning adventures of walks to the parks with her new friends. “Erin was an awesome sitter. She watched our golden retriever for a couple days and had a fantastic setup; Giant fenced in backyard with a pool and other dogs that got along really well. She updated us with pictures and was very easy to communicate with. Dog must have had a blast because she was exhausted when we picked her up. Will definitely return if in the OBX area!”

“I cannot say enough good things about Theresa and her family. The next time I am anywhere near the OBX, I will definitely be going back to Theresa. I found myself in a tough situation where I needed a very last minute dog sitter for my less than two-week old rescue pup, Lilah, who was also on meds at the time. As a new dog owner + an owner of a dog I didn't know that well, I was obviously very nervous to be leaving her. Upon arriving to her house, I could see that Theresa and her family would provide the highest care for Lilah and make her one of their own for the weekend—that they did and I'm pretty sure Lilah had the time of her life. Lilah has severe separation anxiety, EXTREMELY high energy as a young pit/boxer mix, and is still working on her dog socialization skills, but they were absolutely fantastic in working with all of her quirks and needs throughout the weekend. They also have an amazing, massive fenced in backyard that was perfect for her energy needs, and it was great that she got in some socialization with their sweet dogs. Their patience, attention, and care with Lilah left her a better pup then when I dropped her off. If you're anywhere near the OBX, Theresa is definitely the way to go.”

“Kimberly is so absolutely amazing!! My Marley is right at home with her and she is so good with him. She sends lots of pics and even some funny videos too and kept me updated throughout his stay. She’s such a fun loving person and you can tell she loves dogs and truly enjoys taking care of them. Her home is dog friendly as she lets them snuggle on the sofa with her and Hulk (her adorable pup who also loves having friends over to play with!) and I highly recommend her, you won’t be disappointed, that’s for sure! Should I need someone in the future it will def be Kimberly. She is also super flexible and chill which has been a huge help since we are just moving to the area and are in a hotel that doesn’t allow pets. She’s been so helpful and understanding while we go through the process of renting.a home which is taking longer then expected. I’m so thankful for her as I know my pet is happy and safe with her.”

“Tessie has never been away from home without a family member, and so I was petrified of finding someone who could treat my moms dog like family and help ease any anxiety she’d have about being separated. Tracy was an absolute godsend. Mila and Milo are both the sweetest pups and between them and her boys playing with Tess she barely had time to feel homesick! Sweet girl had a ton of fun and I could sleep easy knowing she was loved and cared for.”

About: I’ve taken care of plenty dogs in my life. I’ve raised great Dane puppies from day one, and my pitbull puppy that I have now from day one. Everybody always praises me for how well I’ve done with them. I know how to give medication and any other special treatment required. I can do basic training, such as sit, lay down come here give paw and go potty. I’m currently employed and trying to do pet sitting on the side. I work Monday thru Friday, 7:30am to 3pm. I can do overnights, drop ins and walks when I’m not working. Where I live we have 2 dogs and 1 cat. I have two rats upstairs but they will stay in the cage while other animals are over. The cats name is Leo, he’s super friendly and loves all the attention. Their dog Fin is a golden doodle who’s about 9 months old, a bit wild but he’s a good boy who loves playing. My puppy October is a few months old, she’s a pit bull and she’s so sweet. She loves playing with other dogs and she’s very well socialized. We have a huge back and front yard (not fenced in) that I plan on putting a stake in the ground to chain a lead to. As I would parent children, I do the same with animals. “Gentle parenting” is what you would call it. Your animals will always be treated with respect, kindness and room for understanding.
