About: My name is Laura and I am come from a long background in animal care in zoos and aquariums and have animal training experience using positive reinforcement (operant conditioning). I would be happy to help train your pet/animal or take them on long walks. I love being outside and have had dogs my whole life. I currently have two dogs of my own, a pit/lab mix and an Australian cattle dog. I currently work Monday-Friday, but am available on weekends anytime (Saturday and Sunday) and some evenings (6-8pm) on weekdays. I would be happy to come by your place several times throughout the day/evening to care for your pet. Safety is my number one priority. When I take animals for walks we are safe around other animals and people. I have two friendly dogs that love to play that and would be happy to socialize your dog with mine as long as they get along with other animals.

“Prior to our week of vacation in Avon , we used Rover to find a pet sitter for our dog, Toto. so that we could spend a day at Wright Brothers, Jockey's Ridge, and the Lost Colony play. Cynthia was in the area, and after sending her a message, she messaged me back immediately and everything was set up promptly. We arrived around 11:45 AM on the appointed day and were met by Cynthia and her husband. Both are absolute dog-lovers, and their 4 dogs welcomed Toto into their home immediately. Their home is set up perfectly for hosting dogs; a large, fenced pen area and a big, dog-friendly living room. Her personal dogs were friendly, and she also was watching a poodle who seemed to be a frequent visitor. We gave her the scoop on our Toto, and knew he'd be in good hands for the day. On several occasions throughout the day, she texted us photos to let Toto was doing well. Upon pickup at 10:45 PM- when the play was over, which coincidently was a 5-minute drive from her house- she gave us an overview of his day, including a walk through the Lost Colony park with her dogs- and said her goodbyes. Everyone- Cynthia, Toto, and our family- had a great day with this arrangement. The next day, she texted us several more photos of Toto that had not come through the previous day. We highly recommend Cynthia. She is knowledgeable about dogs, loves dogs, and has the right setup to take care of your furry family member!”

“Jessica and Earl were amazing. They love dogs, and their little pup is beyond sweet. Our pups got along wonderfully, and their large, fenced in back yard was a huge plus. Lots of room for my dog to run and play. Someone’s home for the majority of the day, and they made sure my pup was comfortable and happy at all times. I will definitely be using them in the future.”

I work a lot, and sometimes overnight shifts and she was great with coming by throughout the night and making sure my 3 dogs were fed, and walked, and cared for. About: Military member and full-time humane society volunteer with a safe home and a love for pets. We have a 3 and 6 yr old child and a 3lb yorkie (Bruce). Fenced in yard and my spouse or I are ALWAYS home. Plenty of space to roam the house and a nice neighborhood to go for walks in (with a dog park). About: I’ve taken care of plenty dogs in my life. I’ve raised great Dane puppies from day one, and my pitbull puppy that I have now from day one. Everybody always praises me for how well I’ve done with them. I know how to give medication and any other special treatment required. I can do basic training, such as sit, lay down come here give paw and go potty. I’m currently employed and trying to do pet sitting on the side. I work Monday thru Friday, 7:30am to 3pm. I can do overnights, drop ins and walks when I’m not working. Where I live we have 2 dogs and 1 cat. I have two rats upstairs but they will stay in the cage while other animals are over. The cats name is Leo, he’s super friendly and loves all the attention. Their dog Fin is a golden doodle who’s about 9 months old, a bit wild but he’s a good boy who loves playing. My puppy October is a few months old, she’s a pit bull and she’s so sweet. She loves playing with other dogs and she’s very well socialized. We have a huge back and front yard (not fenced in) that I plan on putting a stake in the ground to chain a lead to. As I would parent children, I do the same with animals. “Gentle parenting” is what you would call it. Your animals will always be treated with respect, kindness and room for understanding.

“Tessie has never been away from home without a family member, and so I was petrified of finding someone who could treat my moms dog like family and help ease any anxiety she’d have about being separated. Tracy was an absolute godsend. Mila and Milo are both the sweetest pups and between them and her boys playing with Tess she barely had time to feel homesick! Sweet girl had a ton of fun and I could sleep easy knowing she was loved and cared for.”

“First time Rover user and am pleased to report that everything went great and Mary truly cares for your dog while in her care! During the booking process Mary was very attentive and quick to respond, and she assured me that my pup will be in good hands. I only needed my dog to be in Mary's care for a few days before our dog-friendly rental was available, so knowing that she was 7 minutes away was helpful, she even said I could stop by and take her for the day if I wanted to! Very cool! Day 1 my pup was not very happy to be there and was whining at the door... Mary texted me asking if there was anything she could do to make her feel comfortable, after a couple more hours my dog was snuggling with her and was super content. Mary really did care about my dog and her feelings which was very appreciated. Last but not least, Mary gave me suggestions of places to eat and cool things to do in the area! I went to a couple of her suggestions and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend and I will definitely rebook with Mary if I am in the area again.”
