“Our first time having Kayleigh with our 2 small pups, turned out to be the best choice possible. Having not had anyone before stay for 2 days, we were wondering how things would go. Kayleigh sent numerous photos and updates depicting how happy and well taken care of our pups were. Little accidents from my senior dog didn't phase her at all. We felt so comfortable with the care and attention given by Kayleigh. I would love to use her again .”
“Jaclyn was amazing and just what we were looking for in someone to watch our pups! We are new to the area and looking for a dog sitter has been tough, but Jaclyn was quick to respond, very experienced and super responsible with our dogs and house. We will definitely book again!”

“Whitney was so great! When my flight was delayed by 10 hours she was so kind and extremely helpful with staying longer with my dog. She’s the best!”

“First time using Rover for our 1yo shepherd. Natalie was a strong communicator, timely, and reliable for an overnight stay in our home. Jax was walked both days for over 1 mile along with playtime. Would definitely use Natalie again!”

“This is the second time Gabby has had a vacation with my dog and cats — and for them, it is a vacation! They love her and I always enjoy the photos she sends. Her communication is always clear and thorough. I can’t recommend her strongly enough!”

“I needed a sitter with short notice and David was able and willing to come meet my 3 dogs within hours of contacting him. He was kind and gentle with my boys and knew how to approach one of them who is fearful. He listened carefully to my instructions and asked when something wasn’t clear. I felt comfortable leaving my dogs with him when we met the same day he stayed overnight. He stayed longer when we were going to be home later which I appreciated. When we got back, he left a kind note and some chocolates for us. I would hire David again!”

“Gregory is absolutely great with my pup. Spent lots of time to give my boy cuddles, took him to his play group and reliable. I have rebooked him a couple times since he's been great.”

“Morgan was an amazing pet sitter and took great care of our cat while we were away. We are both vets and know that we can definitely be “extra” when it comes to being pet parents, but Morgan was very accommodating and made us feel very comfortable during the experience. She sent us update pictures and did well with communication over the whole trip. Henri seemed to really like Morgan too. He can sometimes be a little slow to warm up to people, but he appeared to warm up to Morgan quickly and liked to hang out with her. Since he is a cat with previous FLUTD signs (stress-related urinary issues), we were nervous about this experience, but Morgan did a great job being patient with Henri and making him comfortable and happy. We would definitely recommend Morgan to anyone needing a pet sitter and will definitely use her again in the future.”

About: I have extensive knowledge when it comes to caring for pets of all different types. From growing up with cats and dogs, to saving injured birds, I have seen a lot and done a lot for the betterment of all animals. I will treat every animal as if they were my own. I am currently a stay at home mom and have plenty of time to spend with any fur baby that comes my way. The fenced in yard will be an amazing place for any pups to run around in and I do enjoy walking so having a companion would always be welcomed. My yard is over 8,000 square feet, fenced in, and I have a little pup now that would enjoy extra company. I have plenty of space indoors in case of any crating needs. I have nursed sick and injured animals back to health as my love for animals runs deep.

“We felt at ease with leaving Zahira with our anxious boy. She got here early to meet him and to know about the house. She was professional and provided great care for Zorro. Extremely happy and Zorro loved her. Thank you so much.”

“Janaah was wonderful, I felt very comfortable leaving my dog Willow for several days and nights!!--Janaah is very kind and tolerant of "special needs" pets and medications --my senior dog was terrific when I got back--not stressed or having any issues whatsoever !!”

“We always know our dog and our house are in good hands with Christopher. He leaves the house spotless, and he keeps our dog happy, healthy, and comfortable, with no complications or other concerns.”

“James did a great job watching our dog while we were overseas for two weeks. He took care of everything and went above and beyond, even cooking chicken for our dog who went on a hunger strike while we were gone. We were able to vacation without any worries, knowing that our pup was in good hands!”

“Valerie was such a wonderful long term house sitter for our pups! I can tell they absolutely loved their time with her from all the videos and photo updates she provided. She went above and beyond celebrating one of our pups gotcha days while we were gone and was great at communicating. I just love knowing they were well cared for while we were away!”

About: I've taken care of houses and pets since I was in high school, usually for families I would also babysit for. I have experience with dogs as small as teacup pomeranians and as large as great Danes. I have also taken care of other pets such as cats, birds, fish, turtles, lizards, toads, snakes, hamsters, etc. Walking and exercise is something I love to do, if you do not live in an area that's good for walking I know of several dog parks as well. I do work full time however it is a hybrid position so I work from home 1 day a week. Meds, treats, brushing, all of which I am comfortable doing. I work a hybrid position so I work from home at least 1 day of the week. As long as I have internet access and you are comfortable with me working in your dining room I can be there all day. Or if you just need me to let your pet out during lunch hours I can do that as well. Days in which I work in office I would be able to care for your pet around 5:30 and later. Though I cannot board pets at this time, I am willing to stay in your home and make your pet as comfortable as possible. I have watched clingy and anxious pets as well who need me in the house 80% of the day. I also keep a safe and clean environment during each house sitting gig, your house will be left better than you left it.
“Samantha was Fabulous!! It was like having a Family member be at our home and watch the dogs. She arrived promptly, and the dogs took to her instantly, so did I! We have two large older dogs, and my daughter's 4 year old, diabetic dog were at our house so we could go out to dinner. With her background in emergency care, she clearly understood giving insulin. Our usually aloof male Lab, planted himself on the couch to be next to her, a doggie thumbs up! Throughout the evening, she sent pictures, and kept us abreast of what they were doing, and where they settled in. It was nice to be able to go out with the whole family and not be worried about what they dogs were up to, or if their needs were being met. We have already booked her for our larger Group outing for the Holidays...Samantha is a gem!”

Madison was great with our dogs. She is kind, thoughtful, responsive, and respectful. Our dogs loved her . I have a reactive senior chihuahua and she did so well with her . She took very good care of our dogs and home . We will book her again . Thank you Madison ♥️🤗

Margaret was great caring for our babies Faith and Hope. When we came home from 8 days in Italy our pups were happy to see us but not anxious. This was a first for us. From the minute they met Margaret they took to her! Margaret cared for and respected our home which was an added plus! We will definitely call on her again and hopefully she will be available.😁

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 4,848 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Southampton Township. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Southampton Township walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Southampton Township maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Southampton Township choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
