“Jaclyn was amazing and just what we were looking for in someone to watch our pups! We are new to the area and looking for a dog sitter has been tough, but Jaclyn was quick to respond, very experienced and super responsible with our dogs and house. We will definitely book again!”

“Kayleigh stayed overnight with my three boys and took great care of them. She sent a ton of pictures and videos and kept me updated frequently, especially during my dog's walks. She was also able to give my dog his medication with expert troubleshooting when he refused to take the whole dose. Kayleigh will be my go-to pet sitter from now on!”

“Kimberly was wonderful with my elderly standard poodle, who requires special diet and meds multiple times a day. Then my cat got sick and she took him the the emergency vet, then had meds for him also! She was kind and loving to my fur boys. I recommend her highly!”

“Sophia did a great job and the dogs were happy when we returned. She sent photos and updates daily. It was great to know everything was going well. We would definitely use Sophia again.”

“Catherine is just a gem! Very organized, responsible, and knowledgeable. She was watching our dogs and a house, showing real care. I felt at peace leaving everything in her hands.”

“I needed a sitter with short notice and David was able and willing to come meet my 3 dogs within hours of contacting him. He was kind and gentle with my boys and knew how to approach one of them who is fearful. He listened carefully to my instructions and asked when something wasn’t clear. I felt comfortable leaving my dogs with him when we met the same day he stayed overnight. He stayed longer when we were going to be home later which I appreciated. When we got back, he left a kind note and some chocolates for us. I would hire David again!”

“Nicole was OUTSTANDING!! She kept us updated everyday with pictures and let us know how our boys were doing. She put our minds at ease while on vacation. I can’t say enough great things about Nicole! She is 5 star plus plus plus!!”

“Gregory was excellent with our Husky boy, Buddy! He stayed with him as asked and played in the backyard. He even did training exercises with him to keep him mentally stimulated. We will definitely use Gregory again!”

“When I met Sir, I found him to be courteous, kind and attentive. He asked several questions about our pets including their needs, likes and dislikes. He interacted with them and they seemed very comfortable in his company. During his house sitting we found him to be dependable and communicative. We received several texts and pictures letting us know how things were going and what is plans were that day. Our Tippy requires medicine application twice daily and Sir made sure to let us know his medication had been given. His interactions and attention to our pets was top notch! He cleaned before he left. We found Sir to be responsible, trustworthy, and his care of our pets gave us great peace of mind. We will use his services again in September and highly recommend him to care for your beloved pets.”

“Whitney stayed overnight with Bolt. Bolt immediately seemed at ease with her. She took him for his walks and fed him. We were delayed returning and she was gracious enough to stay until we returned. Will definitely book her services again. Thanks Whitney!”

“Gabrielle has watched our big pitbull three or four times now and we feel like she’s part of the family! She’s very attentive to our big dog and sends us lots of pics when she’s with her! We are so happy we finally found someone we can trust.”

“Bri was awesome!! My dog is a little anxious going to unfamiliar places so it was important to me to find someone to stay with her at my house while I was away. Luna LOVED Bri, the pictures and updates showed that! Thank you so much Bri!!!”

About: Hi there! I’ve grown up with pets my whole life. I got my first dog when I was 7—a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. She remained my best friend my whole life until a couple of years ago when she passed away. I also used to pet sit for family friends quite often on the weekends. They have a Golden Retriever and a Rottweiler, so I have plenty of experience caring for dogs of different sizes and personalities. I now live with my Yellow Lab, Otis! He’s my best buddy and a senior rescue dog. We’ve had quite a journey together because he came to us with some trauma and was very underweight. With lots of patience, love, and consistency, we’ve helped bring him back to life. We’re always working on his skills and tricks, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to watch him grow in confidence. I grew up having pets and understand the importance of prioritizing that factor in my life. I always find time to make that a habit in my week! I spend time with them when I have free time! Whether that’s playing, tug of war, going on walks, watching TV, or simply hanging out (and sometimes I can bring my guitar! (It is scientifically proven that playing guitar influences a dog’s brain by stimulating auditory pathways, activating the nervous system, and getting emotional reactions through sound waves and vibrations!)
“My family and I were very hesitant about leaving our doggie with a complete stranger, but Allie made us feel at ease. From the moment we met her she made it easy to forget that she was a stranger, she immediately bonded with our doggie while explaining the process and sharing her experience. While we were away, Allie sent us a ton of pictures and videos so I could relax. We will definitely be using Allie again ?”

“Zahira was a great dog and housesitter! She was punctual, very communicative and sent plenty of photos and videos of our dog each day. Our pup was happy and healthy when we got home. We’ve already booked her to watch our dog again! Highly recommend, thanks so much!!”

Madison was great with our dogs. She is kind, thoughtful, responsive, and respectful. Our dogs loved her . I have a reactive senior chihuahua and she did so well with her . She took very good care of our dogs and home . We will book her again . Thank you Madison ♥️🤗

Ally was fantastic! She was super attentive, kept up with the puppy energy, and kept my mind completely at ease while I was out. She showed my cats some extra love and attention, too, even though she was just hired for the puppy! She sent the sweetest pictures/updates as well. Highly recommend!

Thank you so much for taking great care of Ornn! Krista came to meet Ornn ahead of time, I coukd tell he was comfortable. She was very responsive leading up to watching Ornn, and sent pictures throughout her stay so I knew he was happy and well cared for. I came home to a clean home and a very happy pup! So thankful!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Chairville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Chairville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chairville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Chairville. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
