“Kaelee was very prompt in her responses. She made sure she met our Mya ahead of time and verified days and times. We appreciated getting photos from drop in visits.”

About: I have always loved animals since I was born. When I was in high school I started pet sitting all over lancaster and when I was a senior I went to school to become a veterinary assistant which lead to tech school. A decade later I am still in the veterinary field doing what I love… saving lives! I have experience from small animal to large and even experience with exotics/pocket pets. I promise to always provide the best care possible for your fur baby! I will always treat them as my own. 🥰 I currently work for a small veterinary clinic where my hours are 9-5 Monday-Thursday and 9-12 on Fridays. I do not work weekends! I am more than willing to stop in, spend the night, or do whatever best fits your animals needs! I have had training throughout the years while being in school, attending continuing education in other states, and working with animals every single day since I was 17 years old. I am CPR certified for both cats & dogs. I promise to provide the best care possible!
“Kelsey is the best! This was my first time using Rover and leaving my cats for a weekend and Kelsey made it so easy. She communicated with me, sent pictures, and always showed up on time. I will absolutely be re-booking for my next trip:)”

“Sophia was a great choice for our cats and fish and I’d highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs! 😊 She was super responsive and experienced with all sorts of animals, and kept us updated on our menagerie the whole trip. We would definitely book with her again.”

About: Hi! I have had pets my whole life. Growing up we had dogs and then beginning in 2006, I adopted my first cat and ultimately turned my family into cat lovers (we have 8 kitties between the various family members). I’ve personally used Rover for the last year for cat sitters during some family travel and have been so impressed with the service that I wanted to become a sitter myself. I am currently working part-time from home, so I have lots of time between school and/or camp drop-offs and pick-ups to play with doggies and kitties. I am eager to increase my daily step count, so dog walking would be a perfect addition to my walk. Occasionally my animal loving boys might be with me on the job. Both are ver gentle. I would care for all of your pets in the comfort and safety of your home, yard, and/or neighborhood. I believe pets thrive on familiar environments.

“We’re so grateful for Austin and his patience, care, and attention to detail for our dog. He went above and beyond to make sure our dog was comfortable, watered, pottied, and loved. We’ll be booking him again!”

About: Hi! I’m a college student working toward my goal of becoming a veterinarian, and caring for animals has always been a huge part of my life. I have 2.5 years of professional experience working at a doggy daycare and boarding facility, where I’ve cared for dogs of all different breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. Through my daycare and boarding experience, I’ve gained lots of hands-on experience caring for dogs throughout the day and during overnight stays. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, walks, playtime, supervising dogs, recognizing different behaviors, and making sure each dog is safe, comfortable, and getting the attention they need. Outside of work, I’ve also been dog sitting for friends and family for several years. I know how important it is to feel confident about who is caring for your pets while you’re away, so I always treat every dog as if they were my own. I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine and make sure they get plenty of exercise, attention, playtime, and cuddles! I’d love the opportunity to get to know your pets and make sure they’re happy, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away! As a college student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me plenty of time to dedicate to pet care throughout the week. I’m available around my class schedule for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting, including weekdays and weekends. I’m also happy to work with each owner to maintain their pet’s normal routine and make sure they get the time, attention, and care they’re used to. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my priority. My experience working in doggy daycare and boarding has taught me how to safely handle dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and needs. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I’ll follow their normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions you provide. I’ll also make sure they get plenty of attention and affection while you’re away, while respecting their individual boundaries and comfort level.
“Julie took care of our two cats while we were away for a week. She posted pictures every day and messaged how they were doing, which was appreciated. They were well fed and happy on our return. Great experience!”

“Katie-Marie was really great with my kitty and her special needs! She took amazing care of her while we were gone, which made our vacation more enjoyable knowing our cat was in good hands!”

“Ash was the best of the best of the best hands down thumbs up. She showed my cats all the love she possibly could even though they were snobby about. Took great care to respect our home and wishes and checked in and conversed with me regularly. I felt fantastic about having her check in and care for our cats. Thank you so much Ash”

“Cole was wonderful taking care of our dog! She came to meet with us and our dog Cooper before we went out of town. She came on time every day to check on our dog, let him out to potty, and give him exercise and play time! Cole genuinely cares about the animals she is responsible for and she is a pleasure to work with! I will definitely be booking her services in the future. It is such a relief knowing our dog is in good hands when we can’t take him with us!”

“Kathleen is amazing and is so great with Artie! She gives him all the love and attention when we can’t be there and puts our mind at ease knowing he’s in good hands!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
