About: I have always had pets since childhood and adore all kinds, even exotics! I have 3 years of veterinary medicine experience and I am comfortable with temperaments, body language, senior pet care, wound care and medication administration. I am able to stop in to care for pets before and after work as well as more frequently depending on distance. I will hangout for a little to make our friend feel a little less lonely if you’re on a trip! I ensure that all items are out of reach and that all medication and food are given (plus some treats!). Making the pet comfortable and happy is my goal!
“Thank you Rachel for taking such good care of Axel for us! We know he’s a big boy and difficult to handle. We would love for you to come back again and help us out!”

“Sarah was very helpful, communicative, and friendly. She made our new puppy happy and comfortable despite him being afraid of most things. She also communicated anything that was out of the norm for our puppy and asked questions when needed.”

“Colleen was fabulous for drop-in visits while we were away on vacation: super responsive, thorough communication, and affectionate with our cats. We’ll definitely book with Colleen again!”

“Kaelee was very prompt in her responses. She made sure she met our Mya ahead of time and verified days and times. We appreciated getting photos from drop in visits.”

“Kathleen has been very reliable and has always provided feedback along with pic’s immediately after her visits with our Sophie. We have great piece of mind knowing that our Sophie is well taken care of.”

“Was quick to respond, very helpful in making sure thay not only was my doggy OK, but that i turned off my hot hair tool! Will be reaching out again for any other visits in the future :)”

“Mikayla took great care of our 2 furry family members while we were on vacation! I loved the updates and pictures. We will definitely request her services again and recommend her to our family and friends!”

About: I have had dogs my entire life and every single one of them has had a piece of my heart! I presently have two senior dogs and one three-year old, who probably feels as passionately about dogs as I do! I have also lived with, loved, and taken care of several cats over the last 13 years. Growing up, I was responsible for taking care of my family’s lizards and frogs. I presently am able to control my own schedule and can make myself available for any last-minute or unexpected pet care needs that you may have. Currently, my only blocked off time for certain is Wednesdays from 5:30pm-9:30pm In my home, I have a fenced in yard to ensure that outside time is safe and fun. If you do not have a fenced in space but are still looking for your pup to have some outdoor time, I always ensure a leash is used to keep them safe. I have successfully used components of behavior analysis to build trust and confidence in my own dogs, while also ensuring that I understand their own behavioral cues to prevent stress in new or different situations. This includes shaping behaviors, frequent reinforcement, and pairing with new dogs to demonstrate that I am a safe person in their environment. Should transportation ever need to occur, I have a seat belt that clips to any standard harness as well as a seat cover that prevents climbing over the center console. I have a number of 6-foot leashes as well as 2 30-foot leashes to allow for safe running in open spaces, and an expandable 10-foot leash.
“Elizabeth helped us out when our usual dog sitters weren’t available on a holiday! She was really flexible and kept us informed of how our pups were doing on each of her visits!”

“Mikayla came to every appointment on time, sent me pictures of my cats and communicated to me what she did. It was a relief to know my cats were being taken care of. Awesome job, Mikayla! 😊 Thank you!”

About: I've taken care of dogs for over a decade from high energy (I have a border collie) to low energy (I also have a shih tzu), elderly, and everything in between. I'd love to make your dog's day by taking them on a walk or giving them an incredible play time. Same goes for your cats! Whether your pets love activity or simply want someone to watch them sniff in the backyard or hang on the couch, I'd love to bring a highlight to their day. Right now, Friday nights through Sunday are the times I have completely free to dedicate to helping take care of your pets. I'm hoping to add more times soon and options to board. As someone who searches for hours to find the right person to watch my pets, I know how hard it can be to trust someone new to take care of your fur family. Whether it's pictures, reassuring texts, following your instructions exactly, or all 3 I will do my best to make your pets as happy and healthy as possible. I offer drop in visits and walks, so please let me know what you are and aren't comfortable with and I will make sure they are well cared for while giving you as many updates as you'd like!

I am dedicated to providing an excellent client experience and caring for pets and the home as if they were my own.

I am still a high school student, but I work for a pet store meaning I care for pets while at work and at home! I will be very slow and careful when first meeting your pets. When going outside I will make sure they are leashed and or harnessed.
“Lauren was a wonderful sitter. She stepped in last minute after I had a cancellation and was so stressed about finding someone. She took great care of my 3 kitties and was great with communication. I very much appreciated the picture updates and detailed notes she left for me each day. I would highly recommend her services and look forwarded to booking her in the future.”
“One of my dogs has severe anxiety and has not been able to stay successfully with friends, at day care, or with boarders. I turned to Rover as a last resort and am so thankful to have found Brittany!! Brittany has been stopping in for visits once a week. She is phenomenal with my pup and keeps him comfortable and happy during her visits, which makes him happy and makes me SO relieved!!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
