âAaron was great with our White German Shepard and our kitty. He communicated very well and checked in daily sending pictures. We felt very comfortable on our trip knowing our girls were in good hands. We will hire him again! Thank you Aaron!â

âRaenell did a fantastic job taking care of our dog. She stayed in communication prior to the stay to prepare and remained in communication while we were away. We had to unexpectedly extend our trip and she was able to accommodate the extension. We are very grateful to know our pup is in good hands.. .â

âBreauna was amazing with our dog Joey! He has some anxiety especially when he's separated from us but she did a great job of taking care of him and making him feel secure. She exceeded expectations by taking him on walks that were not necessary and sending us lots of pictures and updates! She was also very respectful of our home and we came back to the place just as neat as we had left it. Very kind and amazing vibes, well definitely be using her again!! Thank you so much!!!â

About: While I've grown up with dogs and cats, I also have professional pet sitting experience taking care of dogs with diabetes, blind cats, guinea pigs, and even a llama! Pets and their caretakers have trusted me so much, they have flown me to their new homes after moving out of state for further petsitting assignments. I give emotional connection and comfort to pets while they're missing their humans, even reading aloud to them, because I believe it is an integral part of the job. Currently, this is my primary work, so I will have time to spare to take care of your animals. I volunteer regularly at animal sanctuaries and other orgs to improve the lives of animals. I have typically been asked to spend the night with the pets in the client's home, and spend as much time with them as possible, but I can also make daily visits instead if necessary. If you prefer I make visits, keep in mind the distance it would take for me to get to your place, and consider allowing me to make fewer, longer visits instead of multiple brief ones throughout the day.
âThis is the first time Evelyn has done a sit for me, and I couldn't be more pleased. For 8 days she lived in my home and took care of my rambunctious Doberman. She texted me daily with information about how he was doing, notified me when she had questions or concerns, responded promptly to my texts/calls, provided Maestro with the agreed-upon food and medications, and took good care of my home as well. I will definitely be using her in the future.â

About: Hello! My name is MaKenzie, I am 24 years old and I grew up around dogs my entire life so this is not something that is new to me! I have been watching animals since I was 16, and have always loved it. I have watched all different kinds of animals from pigs and chicken all the way to bunnies and reptiles. I live in a house with a great yard (unfenced) with my dog Mochi. My dog is a female Doberman who LOVES to play. Mochi is extremely energetic so we do play and walk a lot. If your dog is similar, and as energetic as Mochi, then this would be a great spot for them! Iâm currently running dog/cat sitting as a full time business, so I have all the time in the world. I also work part time for another company with hours around 11am-1pm. Whenever dogs visit they get free roam of the house along with my pup! Dogs do remain on leashes when going outside as I donât have a fence. Dogs are not allowed unattended outside at all.

About: My preferred name is Ethan but youâre welcome to call me Meadow. Iâve taken care of animals since I was in middle school. I have been a pet sitter for many people for a few years now (usually cats and dogs) but I am open to other animals. I have two cats of my own who I love with all my heart! I am trying to build my portfolio to eventually work in the veterinary field. Im currently college to get a degree in Vet Tech. I have class from 10-12 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This summer is really busy with animal care but you can always ask about dates and times. I follow care instructions to a t. I love playing with animals and some good lap time. I can do pretty much anything whether an animal has special needs/ care instructions. And am open to taking care of other kinds of animals besides dogs.
About: I have taken care of animals since I was 16 years old. I love caring for the pet of others and allowing pet owners to have peace of mind when they are away. I care for the pets of others if they were my own. I work from home, so I am flexible. When I pet sit sometimes the animals will hang out with me in my office while I am working, or sometimes I will find them in the living room sleeping on the couch. I care for pets in my home by allowing them to roam freely as if were their own home. It will vary depending on the type of care you pet needs. Special diets, etc.
About: With lifelong experience caring for both dogs and cats, Iâm comfortable handling everything from daily routines and training to senior pet support. Iâve watched many pets for families I work with, including dogs who need structured schedules, anxiety-sensitive care, or oral medications. As a nursing major at Clark College, I bring strong attention to detail, reliability, and compassionate care to every animal I watch. Iâm confident adapting to each petâs unique needs and making sure they feel completely comfortable while youâre away! Every morning I wake up and feed my dog and go outside with him, and during the day we go on a hour walk if he hasn't been outside. I do live on property so most of the time me or my family is outside and he plays outside with us. I've always had a love for animals and I think getting exercise is really important so I love to go on walks and play with my animals!
âBrooklyn did a fantastic job watching our two morkies over a weekend period. We especially appreciated her proactive style of communication, her calm when dealing with any issues, and of course all the pictures of our pups throughout the day while we were away. Would definitely recommend her services and book with her again. Thanks Brooklyn!â

âKaren is everything you want when leaving an anxious weimaraner alone with a pet sitter for the first time. Sheâs communicative, sending updates by text and video to keep the anxious pet parents at ease. Sheâs compassionate, understanding Poppyâs need to speak out loud and sleep really close. Sheâs calming for all of us. We are confident we have found the perfect dog sitter.â

âI honestly canât say enough amazing things about Marie!! Weâve used multiple sitters on Rover before, and she is in a league of her own. She went so far above and beyondâsending tons of photos and videos, keeping our home spotless, and even helping set up a water fountain and troubleshoot our catsâ picky eating habits. Itâs clear she genuinely cares. Most importantly, she loved our cats like they were her own, and that meant everything to us. She was truly an angel and we feel incredibly fortunate to have had her. We will absolutely be using her againâshe deserves every bit of recognition! Thank you so much Marie!!â

âAislynn was so wonderful. This is our second setter through Rover and have had nothing but great experiences. It was great knowing Millie and Oliver was in safe hands during our day. I would for sure rebook with her again.â

âMacynn was so great with our doggos. Our oldest has occasionally been starting minor scuffles when stressed and Macynn handled it perfectly the first day after we left. She communicated frequently and sent pictures without being prompted. She stayed at our house and left it exactly as we did. I could barely tell she'd stayed at all. Would recommend Macynn to everyone and will definitely be booking again in the future. Thanks Macynn!â
âStix did amazing with our crew! She provided many pictures and daily updates. Everything was perfect when we got back and she went above and beyond expectations. I'll definitely be booking her for future vacations!â

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Skamania on Rover is $36.63 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,351 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Skamania. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitterâs presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Skamania walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your homeâs security or appliances.
Itâs helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Skamania maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate theyâll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your petâs profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Skamania choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
