“Carlie was a pleasure to work with and was super communicative with me for our Goldens care...She was also flexible and understanding when an unexpected sickness arose (which was not related to her care in any way) Would recommend her and will use her again for sure!”

“Margit and Bill opened there home and their family of 3 dogs to my Corgi Winston. They sent me pics and updates on how he was doing during his visit. I am recommending them to my dog lover friends👍👍”

“Jill watched Boz for us for an entire week while we were on vacation. She was responsive, communicative, and caring. She sent pictures every day which put my nervous mind at ease. She even accommodated our request when we added on an extra two days! This was our first experience with boarding, and we would 100% use Jill again”

“Lamar and his family are absolutely amazing! We found out at the last minute that our Airbnb didn’t allow pets, and I was devastated trying to find someone I could trust to care for my little guy. From the moment we met Lamar, he made us feel so welcome and immediately put my mind at ease. Throughout Gus’s stay, he sent us photos and updates, which meant so much and reassured us that he was happy, safe, and well cared for. It’s clear that Lamar is incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and genuinely loves animals. I am so grateful we found him, especially on such short notice. I highly recommend Lamar to anyone looking for exceptional pet-sitting services. We will absolutely choose him again whenever we’re back in Ocean City. I only wish he lived closer to us!”

“Beth and Ron were GREAT and they are highly recommended! I knew my Jett was in good hands and care. He had a blast with their Riley and Daisy, the 4 days he stayed with them. Beth sent me regular updates and had speedy responses whenever I reached out to check on him. We will definitely be using their services again!”

“Can’t say enough how well our Sally was treated on her vacation from us! Irena and her family welcomed Sally as one of their own while we were away! Irena sent photo updates to us and we knew our girl was being well taken care of! Vacationing in Ocean City at a pet-unfriendly place? Bring your furbaby to Irena during your stay. Live in Ocean Pines or thereabouts? Irena is the perfect person to take in your beloved while you’re away!”

“Bob was fantastic and his location is very convenient if you're staying in OC and can't bring your pup to your hotel. He sent lots of videos and photos throughout our stay, which we really appreciated, and he even gave our dog Lila some special gifts and treats. He was extremely responsive, caring, and accommodating. We'd book with him again if we're back in the area.”

“AIKO had a little separation anxiety and was quickly loved and preoccupied and went on with his stay .. there were numerous updates and quick response to any questions that I had concerning AIKO stay ! He made a new friend and met other dogs . I was please with the environment very welcoming and clean !! Relaxed environment as well I am beyond pleased and looking at future dates . Thanks again”

“Megan watched our Charlotte and kept us up-to date with her activities. She cared for Charlotte as if she was her own! This was definitely an upgrade to leaving her at a kennel. Megan is super kind and thoughtful. Our Charlotte loved her vacation so we could, stress free, enjoy ours.”

“Daniel did a wonderful job with Apollo. He was taken on many walks and allowed to take over the couch. Daniel is caring and responsible with a true affection for doggos. I'd definitely trust him with Apollo again.”

“Thank you so much for taking great care of Lexi :) The pictures each day were appreciated and we had no worries going away. We will be using you again soon. Thanks again!”

About: I cat and dog sit for my family members regularly. I have cared for dogs of all sizes and breeds. I’ve been riding horses since I was 10 and started working on the farm when I was 12. I am available wherever, whenever. Whenever you need me there, I’ll be there. I will figure out a way for your animal to have top tier care. I would care for my clients home just as I would care for mine. I would never want anyone to disrespect my home therefore I would never disrespect anyone else’s.
“Sylvia kept our nervous dog for three days and she was so patient and caring with her. We got updates during the visit with photos. She made sure she felt at home and knew all of her needs. Then we returned for another three days the following week and our dog was so excited to see her and relaxed right in with no anxiety. Sylvia is really wonderful and a fabulous dog sitter. I would highly recommend her.”

“Kelly was wonderful and sent pictures throughout the day. We so appreciate her diligence in helping us with our dogs. One of our dogs requires daily medicine and an ointment. Kelly didn’t seem to have an issue with it and took wonderful care.”

“We were very pleased with Cory, he kept me informed of how teddy was doing. Even though Cory has cats and teddy was not a fan of them he handle the situation great. !!!!!”

About: I currently have a cat and a golden retriever and would love to help you take care of your dog while you are in need. I work from home Monday through Friday so my schedule allows me to be very flexible for potty breaks and general playtime while I'm taking care of your best friend. We have over 3/4 of an acre of property and are also located in the heart of Berlin...So a walk or outside playtime is no problem.
“Debby was a wonderful pet sitter! I felt completely comfortable leaving my dog in her care and knew he was safe, happy, and well taken care of. She even checked in with a picture of him. I would definitely recommend her!”

“Kate was wonderful and Mr. Peanut settled in quite quickly with her AND her two own dogs. Peanut is very picky at who he likes and doesn't like. But he got along with the pack and as a doggie mom, that made me feel good. I will definitely use Kate again. As far as the Rover website, there looks to be some logistical issues. On my screen, it told me Kate was 82miles away, but a 30min drive. Please get that fixed. Rover for me was hard to use. I like simple. But Rover has all these twists and turns. For example, I was not allowed to just message sitters. I was forced to pick dates. I had been looking for a new babysitter for Mr. Peanut since we just moved, but Rover made me wait til I needed someone asap, which made my experience stressful. Not good. We should be able to meet and talk to these folks before we book. After all, we are parents, and we all should be allowed to interview these sitters much like we would if they were our human children. Thankfully Kate worked out. But it could have gone a lot smoother. Thanks Kate (and daughter!)”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Sinepuxent home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Sinepuxent.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Sinepuxent sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
