“Highly recommend Carlie to care for your fur baby. She cared for our Corgi mix for 6 days while we were on vacation. Carlie sent us pictures of our baby taking walks and having treats. He was happy and well cared for and the peace of mind knowing he was so well cared for was priceless. So grateful for the love and care she gave to our sweet boy.”

“Megan was amazing with Jax! She communicated with me throughout his stay so I knew he was having a great time and also sent pics! I look forward to booking with Megan again 😊”

“Kate was wonderful and Mr. Peanut settled in quite quickly with her AND her two own dogs. Peanut is very picky at who he likes and doesn't like. But he got along with the pack and as a doggie mom, that made me feel good. I will definitely use Kate again. As far as the Rover website, there looks to be some logistical issues. On my screen, it told me Kate was 82miles away, but a 30min drive. Please get that fixed. Rover for me was hard to use. I like simple. But Rover has all these twists and turns. For example, I was not allowed to just message sitters. I was forced to pick dates. I had been looking for a new babysitter for Mr. Peanut since we just moved, but Rover made me wait til I needed someone asap, which made my experience stressful. Not good. We should be able to meet and talk to these folks before we book. After all, we are parents, and we all should be allowed to interview these sitters much like we would if they were our human children. Thankfully Kate worked out. But it could have gone a lot smoother. Thanks Kate (and daughter!)”

“My experience with Rover has been a pleasant one. Mary Sue was wonderful and caring sitter. Sent pictures and messaged us with reports of his behavior. Made us feel very comfortable. Will use Rover again, again and again.”

“I cant say enough good things about the care, love and attention they bestowed upon our Mia. She was happy, and most definitely spoiled. Previously when we leave her she doesn't eat for days. Paige and Cameron made her feel comfortable and safe, she eat every day. We received consistent updates. Highly recommend and we are re-booking again.”

“So grateful that he was not only able to take care of my dog Ruby but also my bunny baskoota and the way she was hopping around her cage and eating her hay when I saw her showed that she was living her life. Ruby was so happy being with them and enjoyed her time there. Definitely going to rebook if we go back again to ocean city. Thank you so much!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Bishop
Angeline was absolutely fantastic. She was communicative, reliable, and clearly cared about my dog as if he were her own. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in great hands, and I appreciated the regular updates and photos. My dog was happy, well cared for, and relaxed when I returned, which says everything. I would confidently book with Angeline again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive sitter.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
