Carlie was a pleasure to work with and was super communicative with me for our Goldens care...She was also flexible and understanding when an unexpected sickness arose (which was not related to her care in any way) Would recommend her and will use her again for sure!

Robert was fantastic with Gracie. He sent pics and updates several times a day. She came home exhausted so I know she was played with A LOT while she was with him. He truly loves dogs, I highly recommend him!

Goose didn’t even miss us. He had so much fun staying with you. It was like being at home. He got to be on the couch and in the bed and in the front seat of the car…… just like home.

About: I grew up with a Weimaraner who was our family dog for years. Two years ago, I rescued a puppy from a shelter in South Carolina and trained her myself — she's now energetic, well-behaved, and a total sweetheart, so I know what it takes to work with young, high-energy dogs. We also have two rescue cats at home, one of whom needed to be bottle-fed as a kitten, so I'm comfortable with more delicate or high-needs care too. I've been around dogs and cats my whole life, at every stage — puppies, seniors, and everything in between — and I treat every pet like it's my own. I work remotely, so I'm home most of the day, which means feeding, walks, and check-ins happen on a consistent schedule rather than being squeezed in around a commute or office hours. If a pet needs a midday walk, a bathroom break, or just some company, I'm already there for it. I'm also an active person by nature — I played soccer for years and still love running and being outdoors — so walks and playtime are things I genuinely enjoy, not just tasks to check off. I'm naturally attentive too — I notice when something feels off with a pet, whether it's energy level, appetite, or mood, and I'd rather over-communicate with an owner than assume everything's fine. In my home (boarding): Pets have full run of a comfortable, pet-proofed space — not crated or confined all day. I stick close to their normal routine (same feeding times, walk schedule, etc.) so the transition feels as seamless as possible, and I send photo/video updates throughout their stay so you always know how they're doing. In your home (house sitting): I follow your exact routine — feeding times, walk schedules, medications, and any specific instructions you leave. I treat the house like I would my own: pets stay comfortable in their own space, mail and packages get brought in, and I keep you updated with regular check-ins. Drop-ins & walks: I show up on time and give pets my full attention for the visit — no rushing through it. That means real walks (not just a quick lap), fresh water, playtime, and a few extra minutes of company if they want it. I always send a summary and photos after each visit so you know exactly how things went.

About: I cat and dog sit for my family members regularly. I have cared for dogs of all sizes and breeds. I’ve been riding horses since I was 10 and started working on the farm when I was 12. I am available wherever, whenever. Whenever you need me there, I’ll be there. I will figure out a way for your animal to have top tier care. I would care for my clients home just as I would care for mine. I would never want anyone to disrespect my home therefore I would never disrespect anyone else’s.

Can’t say enough how well our Sally was treated on her vacation from us! Irena and her family welcomed Sally as one of their own while we were away! Irena sent photo updates to us and we knew our girl was being well taken care of! Vacationing in Ocean City at a pet-unfriendly place? Bring your furbaby to Irena during your stay. Live in Ocean Pines or thereabouts? Irena is the perfect person to take in your beloved while you’re away!

Our dogs can be challenging and this was the first time they've ever been boarded. McCray did a great job taking care of them and giving them tons of attention...all during the holidays, which is not easy.

Our dog, who can be a wee bit nervous, had such a lovely time with Jeremiah and his family! They were so kind and communicative, and we’ll happily trust them to care for her again. She can’t wait to be back for snuggles with the kids!

Sylvia was an incredible sitter! The moment my husband and I met her we knew she’d be great. She has such a lovely personality and you can tell how much she cares about animals. She made sure to keep us updated on how Trigger was doing and sending pictures, he looked so happy in all of them. When we picked him up, he was just happiest old pup. I most definitely recommend Sylvia to anyone that needs a sitter!

About: I currently have a cat and a golden retriever and would love to help you take care of your dog while you are in need. I work from home Monday through Friday so my schedule allows me to be very flexible for potty breaks and general playtime while I'm taking care of your best friend. We have over 3/4 of an acre of property and are also located in the heart of Berlin...So a walk or outside playtime is no problem.

So grateful that he was not only able to take care of my dog Ruby but also my bunny baskoota and the way she was hopping around her cage and eating her hay when I saw her showed that she was living her life. Ruby was so happy being with them and enjoyed her time there. Definitely going to rebook if we go back again to ocean city. Thank you so much!

Katie was a wonderful find. She was able to take Emma last minute, when I was in a panic for a sitter. She asked great questions about my pup and what she was allowed (and not allowed) to do. Katie took her on walks and sent photos. I highly recommend her, she was absolutely wonderful.

About: I have taken care of kinds of dogs of all ages! I believe that animals are kinder than people and deserve the world. My parents own a Rottweiler mix and a Boxer mix, and my sister owns a Pitbull mix, so I am comfortable and familiar with the bully breeds. I am very active myself and love when I have a dog to accompany me on my own walks and daily activities (within the limits of the dog of course). I currently work part time in a restaurant, but I have plenty of time in my schedule to care for some animals! With enough notice, I am able to house sit, or have your dog stay at my house! My schedule is highly flexible for longer visits, or even just a short walk in the middle of your work day to give your pet a break. My home is quite large and has no hazards to any animal. If your pet was to stay with me, I have experience with dogs who are crate trained, but do not have a crate of my own, since my dogs are at my parents house. I also live with 3 animal loving roommates, so your dog would never be alone. I have a small front yard for quick trips to the bathroom, but live in a highly walkable area with dog parks and bigger greenspaces within walking distance for your pets pleasure. I love playing tug of war, or fetch with any puppy, and giving constant attention when I am caring for pets.

Cory was friendly and knew a lot about puppies. We were very comfortable leaving our six month old Finnegan with him. He has a big yard and a fenced in deck. I would bring Finnegan the next time I’m in the area.

Zeke is nervous in the car when traveling. The minute we got to Beth and Ron's home, he saw Beth, jumped around a bit and headed to the door to be let in while Beth and I were talking. He loves it there and comes home happy and tired ( from playing with Riley) :) It's so clear that they like him as well. I am so happy we found a good place for Zeke to stay when I can't take him with me.

About: I have always had pets in life (dogs, cats, rabbit, hamsters, fish) and even adopted a dog to live with me when I was in college. The majority of my experience is with dogs and it spans all sizes and breads (from an 8-pound Maltese to a 70+ pound American Staffordshire Terrier). Over the last few years, I have worked with several animal shelters and opened my house to foster pets in need. During this time I have worked to train puppies and taken care of pets that required special attention due to illnesses. I have recently retired and now have plenty of time to live the dream of caring for and playing all day with your fur children. I live on a pet friendly street (cul-de-sac) and my house is properly secure to keep pets safe (gates, crates if needed) and happily engaged in activities.

I can't recommend Kelly enough for dog boarding! My pup, Bailey, absolutely loves staying at her place. The big, fenced-in yard is a doggy paradise, and he has a blast running around and playing with Charlie, Kelly's dog. It's such a relief to know that Bailey is having a great time while I’m away! Kelly’s communication skills are fantastic. She keeps me updated throughout Bailey’s stay, sharing pictures and messages that always brighten my day. It’s so comforting to know my furry friend is in such caring hands. If you’re looking for a loving and fun environment for your dog, look no further than Kelly! Bailey can’t wait for his next visit! 🐾❤️

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Ocean City home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
