“We love Janine! She is always friendly, responds quickly, and loves our fur babies. She made sure to lay eyes on them both every time she came, and she did enrichment with them as well. We felt so comfortable leaving them with her.”

About: Hi! I’m someone who genuinely enjoys being around animals and making sure they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I know how important it is to trust the person taking care of your pet, so I treat every pet like they’re my own. Whether it’s going for walks, playing, or just keeping them company, I try to match their routine and make things as stress-free as possible. I’m easy to reach, send updates and photos, and I’m always happy to help, even with last-minute plans. At the end of the day, I just want you to feel confident knowing your pet is being well taken care of. I typically work from home during the week and I’m off on weekends so I have plenty of time to tend to the needs of the fur babies. I have a large back yard with plenty of room for running and playing. I can walk your pets as much as you like but I usually walk them 2-4 hours. I have a friendly pup named Yani that will keep your babies company while visiting my home. I’ll treat your pets like family, with love and care!

About: I have been a life long pet owner. From Dachsunds, Jack Russell Terriers and Chihuahuas I've cared for many breeds. I was taught by my father from a young age how to properly care for a pet. I earned my degree in December and have struggled with finding jobs in that field. As someone who already cares for a dog at home, I'm looking to incorporate pet care into my routine to be able earn a little extra money and to be able to help people who have jobs with their own pet care. I'd like to be able create a safe environment not only for pets to play but for them to learn. Building a connection with an animal is very important. To earn their trust and respect is an important step in this line of work for me. Keeping the pet safe from both physical and emotional harm is a necessity.
About: I have been working with animals for as long as I can remember. I’ve volunteered with Johnston County Animal Protection League with my mom since I was 12 years old, fostering animals, helping vaccinate, and providing care for dogs. I have worked with an abundance of all kinds of dogs, including those who are dead and blind. Having 8 of my own, I can handle almost anything :) I'm currently taking online classes, which gives me a lot of free time that I'd love to dedicate to taking care of your animals. Whether it's dog walking, playtime, or simply offering companionship, I’d ensure your pets are well-cared for and happy. I am available to make multiple visits per day to care for your pets, including feeding, letting them outside, and taking them on walks. I will also ensure any messes are cleaned up promptly. During my visits, your pets will receive my full attention and care, ensuring they are comfortable and well taken care of.

Being a dog owner myself, I know how important it is to make sure pets feel safe, loved, and well cared for. I’m responsible, patient, and attentive, and I’ll treat your dog with the same care and affection I give my own. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping them company, I’m happy to help make sure your pet feels comfortable and cared for while you’re away. Janine is our go to pup sitter! She always does a stellar job, our pups love her and she keeps us updated. The most recent booking with her was over Fourth of July and one of our pups was more stressed than normal. Janine took wonderful care of her and our other pup. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
