“Our pets' second family. Mitzi and her kids are wonderful with our two dogs and she took the time to send us both photos and videos while we were away which made a huge difference in our being able to enjoy a vacation. Our schnoodle, Tink, takes some time to warm up to people and Mitzi made sure that she was comfortable and waited for her to approach (and coached her son to do the same). They're now part of Tink's circle of trust. Our pomeranian, Tilley, can be a handful - but they embraced her energy and made sure that she also had a safe place when she needed it and followed all of our instructions about feeding them separately as Tilley tends to overeat. Without question - the absolute best people that we have ever found on Rover and you can completely trust your fur babies with them.”

“Ms. Gail was simply amazing! This was my first time leaving Charlie in the care of someone else while I was away for the weekend. Ms. Gail made the entire experience comforting. I received updates, check ins, and pictures. Ms. Gail was responsive which put my nerves at ease. A huge thank you for keeping Charlie one happy pup while I was gone!!”

“Judy watched Bennie for a long weekend while I was out of town and this being the first time I’ve left him with someone for that long, I was nervous. But Judy was incredibly sweet and so was her puppy. Bennie was well taken care of and I got lots of pictures. She has a very nice fenced in yard and lets the dogs come and go as they please. I will definitely be using Judy again!”

“Laura was FABULOUS with our Chili! She treated him as her own and he has deemed her (As well as her dog!) his new best friends. She is a fantastic communicator and kept us updated with so many pictures and videos while we were away. She has a lovely personality and is most certainly the epitome of a dog person. Thank you Laura!”

“I'm so happy we found Renee. She and her family have watched our little chihuahua several times. Our baby girls loves them and gives them kisses when we arrive so I know she is well cared with them. Highly recommend!”

“Milika did a wonderful job caring for my Moses. Got plenty of updates and pictures. She even accommodated his special food request, to ensure he wasn’t too sad to eat. Plenty of walks, playtime, and cuddles. 10/10 recommend.”

“Scott and Heather did a great job taking care of paisley over the while we were out of town for a weekend! We really appreciated the pictures, videos and updates! We will definitely hope to bring Paisley to them again in the future.”

“Elaine and her family were wonderful. They treated my dogs like their own. Elaine handled my rambunctious 1 year old dog, Annika like a professional dog trainer and Goose, my 4 year old, enjoyed home school with her daughters. Petunia, Elaine's family dog is very sweet and gets along very well with other dogs. I will definitely look to Elaine in the future for any pet boarding needs.”

“Ahlana, did a fantastic job looking over my fur baby Spadey. He came back like his normal self where in the past with other sitters he came back anxious and bewildered. I wish I could have received more photos or videos during the stay, but that’s minor in comparison to my baby coming back happy.”

“So happy Onyx stayed with this lovely family. Marissa was warm and inviting. She shared pictures of Onyx with us while he was there. I have no complaints and will definitely use them again! If they are available. ☺️”

“Hannah and Patrick are truly amazing. Our girl is in love with them and their beautiful dog, Bailey. She had the best time. Hannah sent pictures throughout the stay which relieved some of the stress I had leaving my sweet girl. We will for sure use them again. Highly recommended!”

“Best sitter ever. I will be using her again and again. My cavapoo adores her. She is so good with animals and I trust her 100% sent me updates everyday while i took my vacation”

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life. From puppies to senior dogs. Ive turned aggressive dogs calm. Understanding your dog and its triggers are key. I will treat your pet like it’s my own. Lots of love and playful stimulation. I’m not just watching your dog, I’m creating a bond. Creating a safe space for your pup to be able to relax and have fun. Building trust with you is step 1. I’m currently working full time but I can move my schedule around as needed. At the moment weekends are best to watch your fur babies. I have an open yard. Not big but big enough to play. I use e collars to help direct playtime and to have control over them as needed. Dogs roam freely in the house when I am home. They go in crate if I am not. Multiple post breaks and plenty of playtime and healthy stimulation
“Brian was awesome. He sent us pictures of the girls and kept us updated on everything. His daughter is the sweetest, and she was also a big help with our girls. We'll use Brian every time we need to go out of town and can't carry them with us. We loved that they didn't have to be in a kennel. He had plenty of toys and they were able to have him around the whole time because he works from home. Can't say enough good things.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 980 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Sims. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Every sitter on Rover has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.
97% of Sims sitters also include daily walks in the neighborhood during dog boarding stays. You can also request photo and message updates throughout the stay so you can see which Sims landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.
If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Sims home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Sims.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Sims sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
