"Leaving my dogs behind is never easy, but Mitzi and her family made the experience absolutely seamless and stress-free. From the start, I appreciated her pre-visit requirement to ensure all the dogs got along, which immediately built my trust. Her home was clean, welcoming, and featured a fantastic dedicated backyard area just for the dogs. Throughout their stay, Mitzi kept me connected with daily pictures and updates on how they were feeling and playing. It was heartwarming to see Paisley constantly being held and loved. I was especially touched by how they handled Gucci, who is quite shy. Mitzi captured his journey from nervously hiding under cushions to being completely comfortable on the couch with the family only a day later. Mitzi’s family is incredibly polite, respectable, and friendly. She praised my dogs for being great guests, and the feeling is mutual—I would trust her completely to watch them again. If you are looking for a sitter who truly treats your dogs like family, Mitzi is the one."

Kelly and Jacob were great. They took care of my hyper 3month old Lab puppy for the weekend. My dog seemed to feel safe with them as he was cuddling up with the kids on the couch. Kelly was great about sending pictures of my puppy during his stay and made me not have to worry about if he was okay.

Took a last minute booking after our scheduled boarder decided that our dog was too much. Our dog had no issues with her at all. She saved us from being in a bad position and handled our dog who doesn't like being without us without issue for five days.

Laura was FABULOUS with our Chili! She treated him as her own and he has deemed her (As well as her dog!) his new best friends. She is a fantastic communicator and kept us updated with so many pictures and videos while we were away. She has a lovely personality and is most certainly the epitome of a dog person. Thank you Laura!

Hannah and Patrick took great care of my lab Junior. He is very high energy and they have a great back yard to accommodate his level of activity. A plus is they had other dogs coming for doggie daycare and Junior is very social. We will be using Hannah and Patrick on a regular basis for doggie daycare and whenever we are out of town for boarding! I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to rest assured their fur babies are in good hands!

Dior had a great stay at Marissa & Mosieo’s. They have two small dogs & a fenced in yard so she had play buddies, space & time to run around. Marissa shared a video of pure joy. She made herself at home.

Charlie had an amazing time and felt right at home at Luke’s house. His huge backyard offered the perfect space for him to run around and play in. It was also a plus Luke’s dog was there to play around and wrestle with. Luke is great and very tentative to whatever your dog’s needs are no matter how big or small. Will definitely book again in the future!

Judy watched Bennie for a long weekend while I was out of town and this being the first time I’ve left him with someone for that long, I was nervous. But Judy was incredibly sweet and so was her puppy. Bennie was well taken care of and I got lots of pictures. She has a very nice fenced in yard and lets the dogs come and go as they please. I will definitely be using Judy again!

Elaine and her family were wonderful. They treated my dogs like their own. Elaine handled my rambunctious 1 year old dog, Annika like a professional dog trainer and Goose, my 4 year old, enjoyed home school with her daughters. Petunia, Elaine's family dog is very sweet and gets along very well with other dogs. I will definitely look to Elaine in the future for any pet boarding needs.

Milika was the BEST! This was my dogs first time being away and he doesn’t get along with others well so I was terrified for him as well as Milika. I reached out beforehand to see if we could meet and she said yes and my dog was so comfortable with her and her home. We loved her personality and could tell that she was genuinely a good person. I arranged for him to be picked up from my home and she was on time. She was very communicative and shared many pictures and videos during his stay. She made me and my dog feel comfortable during his stay. He loved her! I will be booking with her again.

Dillon is very attentive and thoughtful of your pets needs and personality. He responded quickly and sent plenty of updates and pictures to know how Hildy was doing throughout the weekend. He's got a nice big fenced yard for the dogs to play in and took Hildy for walks with his dogs as well.

I hate to send this glowing review because I want to keep Pam’s schedule open just for me!! ? She literally is an answer to prayer. Being newly empty nesters, we’ve been wanting to take several short trips but had no one to keep our 10 year old dog. She’s never been boarded so we didn’t want to go that route. We found Pam through Rover and booked with her because of the rave reviews. And, she was better than any of our expectations. She LOVED on our girl, sent pics and updates every day, and Lexi came home so happy, healthy, and with no separation anxiety. We feel so blessed to have found Pam and her husband Dave was awesome with Lexi as well. Thank you so much!!!

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Kenly home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
