We'd give John 10 stars if it were an option. He took magnificent care of our 2 boys. He sent multiple pics and videos every day. And went above and beyond by picking up our mail, dealing with Amazon deliveries, stripped and washed the sheets from the bed he slept in, and even cleaned the fridge! Hands down the best pet-sitter we've ever hired!!

Marietta was absolutely the BEST!! From the very first visit, we knew we had finally found an extra special pet sitter! Her calm spirit, warm personality, and caring approach to our three dogs was remarkable! It was evident how they instantly felt right at ease with her! She was punctual, followed all instructions we provided to her before our trip, and kept in contact with us, along with sending several photos throughout our time away. She even kept the house clean and handled taking the trash out. We recommend her 1000%!! :)

This was our first time using Brooke a she will be our #1 choice for future petsitting needs. She was an exceptional cat and dog sitter! Brooke was attentive, a great communicator (sending pictures and updates daily), and made sure everything went smoothly. We felt at ease knowing our fur babies were in such good hands while we were gone. She went above and beyond, and it truly showed. I would highly recommend Brooke to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter. Thank you!!

Jessica was great! She stayed at my apartment with my mina for a couple of days while I went out of town. Mina got a few walks and Jessica even cuddled with her and administered her medicine (which is no easy feat). They had a great time and Jessica sent many photos throughout her stay. She left my apartment in great order. I will definitely be booking her again!

About: I have always loved caring for animals and treat every pet like a member of the family. While I don’t currently have any pets of my own, that allows me to provide your dog with my full attention and a calm, comfortable environment during their stay. My home features a secure fenced-in patio with pet-friendly turf for outdoor time, and I’m fortunate to have a large dog park directly across the street as well as another dog-friendly area within my neighborhood. Whether your pup enjoys playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply relaxing, I can tailor their care to their individual needs. I have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, ages, and personalities, and I have also volunteered with animal shelters, giving me a strong understanding of dog safety and behavior. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I would be honored to provide reliable, attentive care for your dog. I look forward to meeting you and your pup! I am currently a nursing student and stay at home mom. This allows me to give your fur babies my full attention and lots of love and interactive play! I believe every pet is happiest when their normal routine is maintained as closely as possible. Before each booking, I take time to learn about your pet’s feeding schedule, exercise needs, favorite activities, medications, and any special instructions. In my home, pets receive plenty of supervision, attention, playtime, potty breaks, and a clean, safe environment. Dogs have access to a fenced-in patio with pet turf and can enjoy walks or trips to the nearby dog park if approved by their owner. Cats are provided with a quiet, comfortable space, fresh water, clean litter boxes, and enrichment activities tailored to their personality. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect both the pet’s routine and the owner’s home. I follow all care instructions carefully, provide regular updates and photos, maintain feeding and medication schedules, clean up after pets, and make sure they receive plenty of attention and affection while their family is away. My priority is always making pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while giving owners peace of mind.

This was a last minute booking. We had to leave for NJ when my father died and Kelly stepped up for us. She did a wonderful job taking care of our three dogs. One has diabetes and needs insulin shots twice a day and is also blind. Kelly had no problems with the shots or with bonding with our babies. She kept us updated, which was wonderful. Kelly even did some unexpected cleaning during her down time, which was unexpected, but so appreciated. I would not hesitate to recommend Kelly and would definitely use her again in the future.

Skipper did an excellent job. I am so thankful he came and took such good care of my cats. The automatic feeder has a gel pack to keep out moisture broke and dispersed into the food. It was the perfect example of why even with an automatic feeder it is important to have someone check on the animals. Skipper provided excellent communication and updates.

Jennifer hasn’t even been gone for 24 hours and I’ve already recommended her to a neighbor! She took amazing care of my dog and my house. I came home to a clean house, linens washed and the kitchen spotless! What a treat after traveling for work all week. My dog Bella was looking for Jennifer this morning so that also tells me how amazing she treated my girl while I was away. Book Jennifer - you will NOT be disappointed!!

Serena is the perfect dog sitter! Gracie is usually very anxious to be without me but with Serena by her side, she ate while I was gone on the first day (this is huge for her!), played, enjoyed belly rubs, and had a very caring and considerate human around to be with! You want to hire Serena, she’s my new preferred dog sitter ❤️

I highly recommend Tiffany. She was wonderful with my cat, Sweetie PIe!! Sweetie PIe is mainly an outdoor cat. She is a bit skittish and distrustful of people she doesn't know so it can be a challenge for a new person to try to take care of her. Tiffany was great. She checked on her regularly and made sure that Sweetie PIe had food and water and kept me well informed on how Sweetie PIe was doing. I enjoyed my trip so much more knowing what good care Sweetie PIe was getting. I will definitely be calling Tiffany again to take care of Sweetie Pie when I go out of town!

We recently moved to the Raleigh area and were so lucky to find Caroline & Gavin on Rover and available for the weekend we needed care for our 2 dogs. We needed to be out of town for the weekend for our daughter’s wedding. Caroline & Gavin gave us numerous updates over the weekend and sent pictures. We felt so comfortable having them in our home caring for our dogs. We were able to relax and really enjoy the wedding without worry. One of our dogs is very nervous and unsure around new people. Caroline & Gavin were so calm and patient with her. They left our house in perfect condition too! We will definitely use them again!

About: I’ve been a dog owner most of my life! Currently, I own two dogs and I treat them like children. I’ve taken care of dogs since the age of 12. My family and friends would ask me to watch, feed, walk and play with their dog when out of town. I work from home so I will have plenty of time to play with your pups. I am available for weekend boarding, drop off anytime. I have a fenced yard and two friendly dogs that can play with your fur baby. I have a crate for your fur baby if needed.

About: I have over 7 years of pet sitting experience and have cared for many different animals including dogs, cats, birds, and more. I have worked at a doggy daycare and boarding facility for over 2 years where I supervised playgroups including pooltime, cared for boarding pets, bathed dogs, blow dried coats, and trimmed nails. I currently work as a veterinary assistant where I help with treatments, medications, vaccines, blood draws, dental cleanings, X-rays, IV fluids, anesthesia monitoring, recovery care, and more. I am currently in school to become a veterinarian and have a strong passion for animal care. I am experienced with pets of all ages, sizes, temperaments, and medical needs. I treat every pet like my own and always focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you are away. I am a responsible and dependable college student with a flexible schedule. Aja was absolutely amazing and by far and away the best dog sitter we have ever had. Her professionalism, attentiveness, and attention to instructions is something we should all strive for in our respective fields. My wife and I had absolutely zero concerns about the well-being of our doggos with Aja, which made for that much more enjoyable of a trip for us knowing they were in the absolute best hands. 10/10 WILL book again.

FAQs for House Sitting - Kenly

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Kenly on Rover is $52.17 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 913 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Kenly. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kenly walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kenly maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kenly choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Kenly. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 99% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
