“Emily was amazing!! This was our first time using Rover and we could not be more satisfied. She did great with our big pup and sent us lots of pictures while we were gone which put my mind at ease! Would definitely recommend Emily and use her again!!”

“Jeffrey has become our reliable sitter, regardless of the occasion, he is always willing to accommodate us. We breathe a sigh of relief, when we leave our pets with Jeff. They come home happy, well fed, and Jeff even takes the time to give them a bath! He also sends pictures through our trips, so we can see them everyday. 10/10 would recommend !”

“John was so good with my dogs and cats, I immediately felt comfortable with him caring for them. The pictures and videos he sent showed content and happy pets that were having fun and clearly enamored with him. The house was tidy and everyone was happy and relaxed when we arrived home. Thank you!!”

“We were gone for a week and our pets were well taken care of. Mary would visit once a week for a few weeks before we left to let the dogs get used to her. This helped tremendously! She sent daily updates and pics. We will definitely use her again when we go away. It removes a giant burden knowing our pets are well cared for while we’re gone.”

“This was a last minute booking. We had to leave for NJ when my father died and Kelly stepped up for us. She did a wonderful job taking care of our three dogs. One has diabetes and needs insulin shots twice a day and is also blind. Kelly had no problems with the shots or with bonding with our babies. She kept us updated, which was wonderful. Kelly even did some unexpected cleaning during her down time, which was unexpected, but so appreciated. I would not hesitate to recommend Kelly and would definitely use her again in the future.”

“Amazing service provided by Michelle. I didn't worry about my furbaby at all. I hope this is the beginning of a new relationship for us all I returned to a happy dog, clean home like I left it and overall good, positive energy... can't wait to use Michelle's care for Ivy again.”

About: I’ve always been a lover of animals. I have my own 2 cats and doggo and they’re my whole world. Before that I had family dogs and cats ever since I was young and they were my favorite thing to see when I came home after a long day. I love to workout with people themselves and animals! It benefits everyone to get up and move throughout the day. Plus dogs should get to experience the world around them too! I’m a stay at home mom, I am expecting our first baby in December. So once the baby is here, I may take a break for a little bit, but I’ll be back! I’m available to walk during typical business hours while my husband is working. I have a two story spacious home with a large fenced in backyard! Our bedroom is on the first floor so even if the dogs are older, they wouldn’t need to go up any stairs. I have a loving dog that will play and run around with them and 2 cats! One is super friendly and will play with them. The other is a little more timid and will most likely just hide.
About: I’ve been a dog owner most of my life! Currently, I own two dogs and I treat them like children. I’ve taken care of dogs since the age of 12. My family and friends would ask me to watch, feed, walk and play with their dog when out of town. I work from home so I will have plenty of time to play with your pups. I am available for weekend boarding, drop off anytime. I have a fenced yard and two friendly dogs that can play with your fur baby. I have a crate for your fur baby if needed.

About: I have had various experiences with dogs and cats. I grew up around animals. I have dog sit and cat sit for friends and families for multiple years now and am very reliable. I have let sit for large dogs that are in older age and needs special care. I have also pet sit for multiple pets at once. It was a small dog and 2 cats. We went in walks, had cuddles, and played games. We even got to play with some toys. I am currently on summer break from teaching and am completely free. As I am not teaching right now I am able to be flexible to your needs of your pets. Whether that is going for a walk or going outside to play. I have my own apartment and it is animal friendly. Due to this the environment is very safe and inviting. In my home it is very calm and clean. This is important just in case your pet has allergies. Since I don’t have any pets myself I am able to give lots of care and attention to your pets.
About: I have had my doggy since I was 17! She has been with me through a lot! I love animals and enjoy meeting new ones and bonding with them! Sometimes I have a really flexible schedule and can work with whatever your schedule needs may be. My schedule can change from week to week. So it’s best to reach out. I typically am free most days during the day. Late nights can be arranged. Child free home. I have 1 dog and 1 cat. The cat will be separate from other animals. She likes to stay in her space.
About: I have prior experience working at the Wayne county animal shelter as well as owning pets of my own! I’m very friendly and gentle!! I’m currently unemployed so I have plenty of time to care after your loved ones whenever you need me! I’m just a phone call or text message away!! I have a puppy and two cats of my own. Willing to learn and help however I can. I’m very flexible and can’t wait to play with your fur babies!
About: Having had dogs since I was born, and my entire life, I've always been the one in my family to teach them (sit, speak, paw, spin) and care for them when no one else is home. I have cared for a range of dog and cat breeds from when they were babies to in their old age. I hope to care for your animals too. I have a dog, I care for it everyday, and I am currently (June 2026) fostering another dog for a couple of weeks while its owner recovers from surgery. I take them on walks daily and play outside with them. We watch tv and sometimes I read to them (it doesn’t last, they get bored of it). As an owner of a dog with a chicken allergy I can understand specific needs, I prefer a more lax and chilled environment and my energy usually gets pets to follow.

About: I’ve owned and cared for dogs of all sizes and multiple breeds since I was a child. There’s never been a time in my life when I haven’t had a dog. I’m currently available anytime to care for your pets. If something were to change I would be sure to update it here or let you know. I am able to care for pets in my home or yours! I live in a pet friendly apartment and have a dog park right outside of my unit where your dog can still have the freedom to run and play!
“I can’t recommend Haley enough! She did an outstanding job caring for my furry friends—Raven, Nanachi, Koda, Kiwi, Zora, and Terra. She has a genuine love for animals, as they seemed so happy and comfortable in her presence. Each one of them adored her, and I could see that they had a fantastic time together. Haley was incredibly attentive, ensuring everyone met their needs and engaging with them through playtime and cuddles. I received regular updates and pictures, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It’s such a relief knowing that my pets were well cared for and loved while I was gone! Thank you, Haley, for your wonderful care and for making this experience so enjoyable for Raven, Nanachi, Koda, Kiwi, Zora, and Terra. I’ll be booking your services again in the future!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 701 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Aycock Crossing. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Aycock Crossing walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Aycock Crossing maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Aycock Crossing choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Aycock Crossing. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
