6. Sarah W.
“Sarah is amazing with our two vizslas. She often stays overnight and cares for them -- and brings her lovely, well-behaved dog, June, with her. Our dogs love her and her dog! One of our dogs takes daily medication, and Sarah is diligent at caring for her with her medical needs. She appreciates that each dog has their own personality, and caters her care to them so they are comfortable. I swear sometimes our dogs are maybe a little bummed out when we come home after a vacation! (OK, not really, of course they're happy to see us, but they obviously had a great time with Sarah and June!) Bonus: When something goes wrong in the house, Sarah is proactive at trying to get it fixed. She's also flexible with bad weather! She has been willing to go the extra mile in so many ways for our sweet babies. I highly recommend Sarah for any length of time!”
7. Talena K.
“Talena is the biggest animal lover I know. She is kind hearted and extremely trustworthy. She is the ONLY person I would trust to watch my animals. Talena cares for animals more thoroughly than some people care for their human children. She is also very talented with dog training and helped my teach my doggo some manners when he was young. She has been responsible for caring for my large breed dog and my cat while we were out of town many times. I would hire her again in a heart beat!”
8. Monica W.
About: I have been a dog lover since I was little and have now owned my yellow lab Max for 9 years. I have been the go-to dog walker/sitter for friends and family for years. I enjoy throwing doggie birthday parties with homemade treats! I am currently working every other week so should have plenty of time on my week off to give some extra love to your dog. Being a dog owner myself and having a very short list of people I trust to care for my dog, I understand how stressful it is trying to find a stranger to care for yours. I promise to treat every dog with as much love and care as I would my own.
9. Shandra A.
“Shandra was amazing. She went above and beyond, made sure Bear got water after their walk, left everything where it was, sent lots of pictures and had great communication!”

“Hello! Jeanette is a warm caring "dog" person for sure! She has loved dogs all her life and is so good with them! Her respect for animals runs so deep she will not even eat them! She is very responsible person you can trust your pets with. She has helped my family with our dogs for many years, she has been a life saver! Celeste G.”
12. Melissa L.
“Melissa is by far one of the most caring people I’ve met when it comes to pets, she takes very good care of her pet snake, dog, and cat! She’s taken care of my dog and he loves her! She makes sure he’s well taken care of and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with him!”
13. Tracee D.
“Thank you so much for taking my Mom’s dog for walks. My Mom is very happy and so is the dog! It is obvious that you really care about dogs. You are doing an awesome job!!”
14. Hope L.
“Hope has been obsessed with all living creatures, her entire life! When she was 6, she even started a club so her and her friends could learn about one animal or insect each meeting! She will never pass an opportunity to love on an animal and has been dog and cat sitting for the last 5 years. The last person she sat for, told me that her dog use to get stress colitis when she left him with other people but not with Hope! Hope is extremely attentive and loving and will go the extra mile for your fur baby!”

About: I love dogs and as much as we would like one of our own… we will substitute our love with sitting and loving yours while you’re away!! I've worked 2 years at a pet store when I was younger have hands on experience in pet care from puppies to seniors! I would love to meet your fur babies and when they're with me I'll love them as if they're my own. It’s hard leaving your 4 legged babies but when they’re in my care you’ll never have to worry about them. I have my own business so I’m usually with clients from 10-1, pick up my daughter from school at 230 and will have the evenings at home to walk and play the pups! With weekends off it allows me to be full time loving and playing with them! We have access to great walking trails and dog parks! Must be kid friendly as I have a 2 and 12 year old! I live in a farm house outside of town and there is currently no fenced yard so we will travel into town and take advantage of nature trails or dog parks so your pup gets plenty of exercise, as we are very active ourselves! My daughters LOVE animals so they will get lots of family love!

20. Joe k.
“Joe is a very experience Volunteer dog handler at Marion County Dog Shelter. Joe has been a Volunteer for two years and 5 months with 342.93 service hours. Joe is here at the shelter every Saturday morning from 7:30 am to 9 am. He began as a Dog walker, but as Joe became more skilled and comfortable in his handling and understanding of dog behavior, he's able to work closely with staff at Level 2 and Level 3 Dog walking, which means more one- on - one time with difficult and behaviorally challenging dogs. Joe performs his volunteer role to an exemplary level, he demonstrates extraordinary commitment to Marion County Dog Shelter as well as Marion County stray dogs. Joe is such a great help, especially when the dog shelter has 30 + dogs in kennel. He makes a difference in that dog's time here at the shelter and those dogs greatly benefit from being out of the kennel for a while (running around the play yards, sniffing, etc.). The greater community also benefits from Joe’s handling skills because the dogs have a knowledgeable handler to make them feel comfortable, safe, and willing to go outside with different volunteers. Overall this reduces any stress the dogs may feel during their shelter stay. Joe’s insight about each dog helps staff assess the behavior of the animals before being adopted as well. Joe preforms above and beyond and offers his expertise and skills to help the stray dogs of Marion County. Joe is great with the dogs, and staff appreciates his input, time, and social contact with the dogs during their stay at the shelter. All this is invaluable towards understanding the lost and stray dogs of Marion County.”
