He would bark at every dog and person he'd see on a walk, and meeting new people and dogs was always a challenge. When he moved to Washington to live with me in 2023, I took on the challenge of helping Patch adapt to a new environment, meet new people, and become more comfortable around other dogs. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, I’ve helped him grow into a more social and confident dog—he’s now great around my friends’ pets and enjoys making new dog friends at dog parks (even if he still starts with a couple barks!). This journey has taught me how to read dog behavior, manage different temperaments, and create calm, safe environments—all skills I bring into pet sitting with care and confidence. As a hybrid worker, I currently take care of my family dog, so dog care and walks fit naturally in my schedule. I make sure my dog gets at least two walks a day and also dedicate time in my schedule for 30-45 minutes of playtime once a day. (My dog loves to play!) I make sure your pet has plenty of water and space to roam around to feel comfortable in a new environment. I have plenty of treats (including non-chicken as my dog is allergic to chicken-flavored food) and can help use them as positive reinforcement for good behavior. My dog can also keep your dog company in a new environment.
