“Destiny cat sat our cat while we were out of town for 10 days. She came over daily to feed our cat, play with her, and keep her company. She left our home spotless and even washed the cat bowl and swept up the cat litter that our cat kicks out of her litter box before our return. She also send us videos and pictures regularly so our minds were put to ease that our cat was taken care of back home. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing someone reliable and responsible to come over to petsit their fur baby.”

“Catheryne was an EXCELLENT sitter. Our dogs, Ariel, Charlie, Weo and Toot- were well loved. She sent photos which we were unable to see because of the location of our stay, until on our way back home. I've always been super anxious about someone caring for my babies. She was a very well mannered young lady. Our dogs didnt even act like they'd missed us....lol....that NEVER happens, so I know she was superb as loving my babies!! I will most definitely be using her for our future trips!”

About: I have several years of experience working in veterinary clinics, as well as having my own fur babies that I look after. To me, our pets are like children and I love every animal that I meet. Whether you just need help from time to time with potty breaks, or need someone dependable to look after your babies for an extended period, I can promise that they will be in caring and amazing hands with me. I grew up on a farm, constantly around animals of all shapes and sizes. Nothing at all makes me happier than coming home to wet noses and the happiness my pups exhibit upon seeing me. I have worked as a veterinary technician for 6+ years so I am experienced in caring for animals in the proper way. I truly believe that every single animal deserves to be healthy and happy and I do my best to achieve that. I am currently a Practice Manager at a veterinary clinic. I work 5 days a week, but have time before, during lunch, and after work to assist with pet care. I am adaptable to any kind of care that is needed for your pets. I am very detailed when it comes to following instructions and guidelines you set forth for your pet’s care.

About: I’ve had two family dogs while growing up who were my best of friends. I work in healthcare so I have a huge passion for service. I know the importance of taking care of others, and that includes pets. Since losing my last dog of 12 years, I have missed being around pets regularly and so am looking forward to getting to do that again! I go into work at 2:45pm each day. This means I have the entire first part of the day and after dinner time when I get off to take care of a pet. In my own home, I make sure they are safe, have a filled water and food bowls, and a warm place to sleep. When visiting a dog at another home, I will make sure he or she is fed, warm, and able to play and get their energy out while I’m there. I love exercise and so will always be ready to walk them too. I believe dogs are meant to be outside running around more than they are tucked away in a crate inside all day.

About: My name is Janet! I’m a student at Berry College! I took care of a lot of pets from people at my church when I was younger and and right now I have a little 2yr old dog of my own who I adore so much🤍 I’ve mainly taken care of small dogs but I’ve been around helping take care of medium and a few large dogs! I love animals so much and I hope to be able to give them the best care! I’m a student at Berry college, and I’m not able to have the time to work a part time job or 8 hour shift, if I think something like this can help me earn more money as well as it’s me being around animals, which I love. It can also help give me some time to destress away from college and be around the most adorable pets!! I have been around many pets, mainly dogs but right now is the first time I have a dog, and she is friendly with pets outside of home but I don’t know how she will react to animals coming into her ‘area’ so I would prefer to care at a clients house! Of course, I will follow the rules that the owner sets, whether it’s how many times the pet needs to be fed, its limit on treats, when and where they potty, what time they go on walks, play/nap time, etc, I’ll take care of them as if they were my own <3

About: Hi! 🐾 I’m Tibitsha, a dependable, caring, and animal-loving pet sitter who will treat your pets like family. ❤️ I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your fur babies in someone else’s care, so I make safety, attention, and communication a priority. I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine, whether that means walks, playtime, meals, cuddles, potty breaks, or simply keeping them company. I’m patient with different personalities and understand that every pet has their own needs and quirks. I’ll also keep you updated with messages and photos so you can relax knowing your pets are happy and cared for. 🐶🐱🐾 I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pets! I work full time but there is always time for pet love and attention that is my true passion in life. I love my fur babies like I love my daughter. I don’t offer these services in my home. I have older male dog that doesn’t get along with other male dogs so it wouldn’t be a good idea.

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I spent a lot of time with my gran, who had a German Shepherd, a rescue mixed-breed from Ireland. Since moving to America, I’ve rescued two pups from a local animal shelter. I’ve had my oldest for over two years and my youngest for just over six months. They’re both under three, full of energy, and bring me so much joy every day! My mum has also had a dog since I was 13, and being away from her after moving made me realize how much I wanted dogs of my own. Caring for animals has always been a big part of my life, and I’ll treat your pets with the same love, patience, and care that I give my own. Pet care is my full-time job, so I have the flexibility to dedicate my time and attention to every pet in my care. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I’ll make sure they receive plenty of love and attention throughout the day. I understand how important routine and consistency are, and I’ll do my best to keep your pet comfortable, happy, and cared for while you’re away. When caring for pets in your home, my priority is to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I’ll follow all of your instructions for feeding, walks, medications (if needed), playtime, and bedtime routines, while making sure your pet gets plenty of love, attention, and companionship. I’ll also keep your home clean and tidy, respect your space, and send regular photo and video updates so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for.

She came and picked him up, dropped him back off, made sure his food and water bowls were full, took him on a ton of fun walks, let him sunbathe and sent pictures of him during my absence. Crimson seemed to enjoy his time with her. Charlotte was very professional and prompt, had great communication skills and showed up with a loving demeanor for Crimson. About: I was raised on a dairy farm, and I've always had a soft spot for animals. I've had dogs for as long as I can remember, and my pups live the good life. Yours can too! I've got plenty of experience taking care of older dogs. No worries about things like CCD, incontinence, special diets, or medications - I've got it all covered! Thank you for your consideration I am a stay-at-home mum to my dogs. My life revolves around my dogs. The first potty break is at 5 AM. Yours will fit in just fine. I have a fenced-in backyard but also an acre of unfenced yard that I use to walk dogs on leash. It's a great place for dogs to go and explore new smells.

Maggie is wonderful! I love it when someone is personable AND takes care of my boys and my house exactly as I asked. She came for a meet & greet and then we booked our date. She showed up on time, communicated very well, and when we returned, I could tell that my 3 boys were loved on just by how they greeted us when we came home. I’d give her 10 stars if I could.

FAQs for House Sitting - Silver Creek

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Silver Creek walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Silver Creek maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Silver Creek choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
