About: I have been taking care of pets since I was a child! My love for animals has motivated me to enroll in vet tech school, starting this fall. I specialize in small mammals, such as rabbits and hamsters, and have owned my own. I have also cared for guinea pigs, parakeets, and aquariums. For dogs, I have experience working with both small and large breeds! I regularly look after my neighbor's dog, and love every opportunity I get to spend time with her. For cats, I have primarily done drop in visits, but have experience with administering medicine to shy cats by building trust over time. I currently do not own pets of my own, so I will be able to give your pet my full attention and care! I am currently spending my summer before starting vet tech school working part time, volunteering at local shelters, and shadowing at clinics. I work weekends, but can still do an early morning or evening visit if needed! Your pet's comfort and safety is my number one priority and I will care for them as if they are my own! Communication and trust is important to me, so I will update you regularly on their happiness and health.

“Tara did a wonderful job taking care of our two cats while we were away! She provided us with detailed updates and photos every visit and was excellent with communication. Would highly recommend her to anyone!”

“Candice was the sweetest pet sitter for our cat! She was patient with him and communicative with us throughout the time we were away. We would definitely rebook her in the future!”

“Allie is amazing. She goes above and beyond! On time very caring and sweet to the animals. She followed instructions to a tee and communicated as needed. I am going to book her again and again.”

About: I was a hands on member in my own dogs professional training, and I have taken care of friends and family’s dogs of all ages and breeds so there’s really nothing I haven’t seen before. That being said, I am well-versed in the high demand and needs of puppies and can confidently say that I am trained to care for them and all the hurdles that they entail. Having rescued my fur baby as a puppy off of the streets, she’s had her fair share of difficulties. Everyday has been such a blessing to see how far she’s come, and continues to. I have such a firm belief that dogs are truly a man’s best friend, and their greatest companion and deserve all the time and love that they deserve. Just from getting in walks everyday, to intentionally setting time aside to play with them is so important. In my home, I pretty much hang out with my Blaze as much as I possibly can. Every hour that I’m home, my dog is right by my side. Even when leaving the house my Blaze is in the backseat of my car ready for a road trip. I think to be deserving of a dogs love means putting in the time to treat them with the care they require, whether that time goes to an extra long walk, or play time with the ball, or even making sure she’s getting all the nutrients she needs in her food. How I can for my dog is how I intend to care for any future clients dog, with care and time.

About: I've had cats and dogs my whole life and know how to make animals feel comfortable and cared for. I offer dog walking and cat boarding from my home in Yorktown Heights. Guest cats stay in their own private room with fresh food, water, and a clean litter box. For dog walking I keep things low stress, consistent, and fun. I work from home regularly so I'm around often and take every pet's routine seriously. I treat every animal like my own. I work from home frequently which means pets in my care are never left alone for long stretches. For dog walking I'm flexible on timing and can work around your schedule for morning, afternoon, or evening walks. For cat boarding, guest cats get visits multiple times a day including morning feeding, a midday check-in, and an evening wind-down with fresh food, clean water, and a scooped litter box. Weekends I'm generally very available and weekdays I can accommodate most requests with a little advance notice. I genuinely enjoy spending time with and meeting new animals so this isn't a job to me, it's a passion. I have a dog and two cats of my own so I know firsthand what animals need to feel safe and comfortable. Guest cats are kept in their own private, dedicated room completely separate from my resident pets, giving them a quiet space to decompress and settle in at their own pace. For dog walking I keep things calm and consistent, always on leash, through the safe residential streets of Yorktown Heights or local parks where my dog frequents himself. I pay close attention to each animal's personality and adjust my approach accordingly. Whether a pet is social and energetic or shy and cautious, I make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. My home is peaceful, clean, and genuinely pet friendly.
“It was such a relief to be able to go on vacation and know our cats weren't just being fed, but truly taken care of. Stacy was very communicative and we could tell she made good friends with our cats - they still ask when shes coming back. She came over in advance to get a lay of the land and meet them and learn all their hiding spots. She even took the litter when she left so we wouldn't have to deal with it. Stacy really was wonderful and knowing our cats were being loved by someone with such great experience while we were away was such a gift!”
About: I'll make sure your pet has the best time possible in your absence. I just love seeing happy animals, earning their sacred trust, and helping them become comfortable and confident❤️ I offer training, as well! And I'll gladly watch any pet, big or small. Both on and off of Rover, walking and training dogs is what I do most for work! So, my schedule is constantly changing to ensure every pet gets proper care. My biggest con is that I may be late because of spending extra time with client's pets, but I try to plan for it wherever possible! If a dog needs 10 more minutes, but my time is already up, I'm not just going to leave. I am very respectful of other people's homes, and always will be. I am not currently offering to pet sit in my home, as my family has allergies.

About: I've been around dogs all my life and I'm a big advocate for the bully breeds. I know how to hold a big strong dog that just wants to say hello. I can keep a steady pace for walks and hold tightly for random pass-by animals. Keeping commands firm and using the proper commands when the unexpected happens is something I excel in because of my experience of working with children. Fifteen plus years working with children ranging from the ages 3-11. I know a dog is part of the family, I have 2 of my own (a cat too!). I've had 10 plus in pet care and 20 plus years in pet ownership. Let me care for your fur-baby. My schedule is very clear for any pet care needs. I was working part time but now I’m looking for pet care as my job. I’m very watchful and observant from years of child care and from my own pets, I want the pets to be safe all the time.
About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my ability to adapt to each pet’s unique needs. I have experience with everything from energetic puppies who need consistent training and playtime, to senior dogs who require gentle care, medication, and patience. I focus on making pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable—whether it’s a long walk, structured routines, or just extra cuddles. You can count on me to treat your pet like family while keeping communication open and consistent. Being in college means I’m away from my own dog, who I cared for every day. Pet sitting helps fill that gap—I get to give other pets the same love, attention, and consistency I gave my own. I plan my days around classes so I always have plenty of time for walks, play, and cuddles. Caring for animals isn’t just something I do on the side—it’s something I genuinely miss and enjoy, which makes every visit special. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make it my priority to keep their routine consistent and stress-free. Whether that means regular walks, feeding on schedule, playtime, or administering medications, I follow your instructions closely so your pet feels safe and cared for. I’ve always been a dependable and trustworthy person—throughout high school I was an honor roll student and someone people could rely on. Now in college, I bring that same reliability and dedication to pet care, treating every pet like they’re my own.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Shrub Oak
Being my first time using Rover, I was pleased to find the sitter locator map to help me connect with someone close to me. Daniella was perfect! She tended to our cats while we were gone for a week and was prompt, professional and courteous, sending us photos and status reports with each visit she made. We returned home to find the cats happy and well cared for.

I cannot recommend Victoria enough! She was so wonderful with my cat. My cat is usually very shy around people she doesn't know so I was shocked to see pictures that Victoria sent me of her petting my cat or sitting with her! She clearly has the magic touch. She also dealt with her own emergency one day and still found a way to do a check in. I am so appreciative and will definitely use Victoria again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
