“Jean was so kind to let us book a last-minute daycare appointment, which we greatly appreciated. She took great care of our Jojo-doggy. She has a great setup for taking care of fur babies, which she seems to enjoy doing. We highly recommend her!”

“Silvana is the BEST!! Always send updates throughout the day and give our pups the best days! They always get so excited when we pull up to her house! I always know they are taken care of when they are with her!”

“Evette accepted my last minute reservation and a quickly-arranged Meet & Greet very graciously. Even though her location is out of my way, our first daycare booking was proof positive to me that the extra travel is worth having Evette care for my fur pup. Instructions were followed closely and she kept in touch with updates and a cute photo. I'm glad I didn't pass up the opportunity to go out of my way for such good caregiving.”

“Jaina was amazing! She was ready when I arrived to her house, introduced her two dogs to my baby and to me and also allowed me hang out with them for a couple of minutes to see her backyard and make sure Kyoho was going to be okay. Jaina followed the instructions I gave her and returned the bag with Kyoho’s stuff, as it was given to her (except for the food and treats lol). During the day she kept me updated, sent me pictures and even a video! I am very happy Kyoho got to spend the day with a loving family ❤️ will definitely rebook!!”

“Mandy and her family took such great care of my puppy. They were so kind and treated her like one of their own fur babies. They sent cute pics and videos throughout the day. My puppy was zonked when we picked her up so I could tell she had a fun filled day. Thanks Mandy!”

“NadjaMarie and Kurt were able to take my puppy at short notice when I realized I couldn't leave him alone on my first day of work. I am so grateful for their love and care for Pierre. I am able to go to work and focus and my anxiety over him is gone! I can tell they really care about him and their dog Luca is like a big brother to Pierre. They send pics of him cuddling and playing and are very quick to respond when I check in at lunch. Pierre even whines a little when we leave which makes me feel like he is having so much fun at doggy daycare! They are the sweetest family I could hoped for!”

“A great day for Indy! When I told him he was going to Patrick’s house, he was ready to head out! Indy made a new friend with a German Shepherd. Lots of great fun for Indy today 🥳”

“Kathy took care of our 6 month old corgi puppy. We were in town to ski, and this made our life so much easier! Booked her the day before. She was wonderful, responsive, and super helpful. She took terrific care of our puppy! Thank you!”

“Genny did a great job taking care of Molly. She was really good about letting me know how things were going and she sent great pictures along with the updates. I’ll definitely be bringing Molly back the next time I need a sitter.”

“Jennifer was amazing - she jumped in last minute to help watch my 3 Jindos. We had a commitment where I could not take them and she took them in, kept me closely updated and was a real joy to work with. The dogs had a great time at her house and played with her dogs as well as explored the environment. I would book Jennifer again anytime.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs my entire life and have spent time volunteering with dog rescues and veterinary organizations. I raised and cared for my own dog for 16 years, from puppyhood through her senior years and passing, so I understand how a dog’s needs change throughout every stage of life. I have experience with puppies, senior dogs, basic training, and administering medication. I’m patient, attentive, and comfortable adapting to each dog’s personality, energy level, routine, and medical needs. After losing my longtime companion, I now have an empty nest and would love to provide a safe, affectionate home for other dogs while their families are away. I work from home, so your dog will have plenty of companionship and supervision throughout the day. I enjoy morning and evening walks or hikes, along with frequent outdoor, play, and bathroom breaks. I’m happy to adjust activities based on your dog’s age, mobility, energy level, and usual routine. My home has a fully fenced grassy yard and a large dog door for convenient outdoor access. There is also a park directly across the street and a fenced dog park nearby. I prioritize safety, communication, and consistency. I’m careful about introductions, feeding routines, medications, leash safety, and any behavioral or medical needs you share with me. I want both you and your pet to feel comfortable and confident throughout their stay.
“Rusty can be anxious with changes, but he quickly felt at ease in Natalee’s care. When I picked him up, he was completely worn out, walking instead of his usual running! I honestly don’t think anyone else could have handled walking him, but Natalee made it happen. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.”

“Madeline and Jacob were amazing! They were so attentive and Jack had the best time! They took him on a walk and sent lots of pictures. He came home happy as can be and thoroughly tired.”

The median cost per day for doggy day care in Shalamar is $30
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Shalamar
Calvin took great care of my Bernedoodle puppy! He kept me updated with peace-of-mind messages throughout the day, which I appreciated so much. His dog, Chester, was also incredibly good-natured and gentle when playing with my puppy. It’s such a relief to find a safe, welcoming environment for socialization. I highly recommend Calvin and will definitely be back!

Oakley has been going here for a few months now and she absolutely loves it! She always sprints up to the front door and Patiently waits to be let inside. It has been so amazing being able to find such a sweet and caring family that treats Oak as their own. I appreciate everything they do and how flexible they have been for my work schedule.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in UT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
