Pet care experience

Will treat your dog like family

I have always loved dogs and I'm very attentive to reading their cues and body language. I can handle all kinds of pups- big, small, shy, energetic- and help them feel relaxed and happy when they are with me. I also enjoy keeping them mentally and physically active with fun walks, playtime and adventures. My own dog and I completed a 6 month puppy training program, and we keep practicing good manners and positive interactions with other dogs every day- whether at home, in the neighborhood, or out on the trails hiking around Salt Lake City. My family and I really enjoy meeting other dog owners and their pups. I'd love to set up a relaxed meet-and-greet to say hi and see if we'd be a good fit for walks or sitting! You can also check out our Facebook page- Dog Mom Hikes- to see what adventures our dogs are having. Please make sure you have time to do a meet and greet with us before the actual booking- we want to make sure it’s a good fit for everyone involved!

Jennifer and her family were so wonderful and accommodating for our little Luna! They took such good care of her for her a last-minute stay. We will definitely rebook in the future!

Jenn did a phenomenal job taking care of our dog, Traeger! From the moment I dropped him off, I could tell he was going to be in great hands. She made sure he was well cared for, got plenty of walks and exercise, and even planned enrichment activities each day to keep him happy, entertained, and engaged. It was so nice knowing he was getting lots of attention and love while we were away. Jenn truly treated Traeger (and any dog she watches for that matter) like they are her own dog, and it definitely showed in how happy and well cared for he was. I really appreciated the daily updates and pictures and the peace of mind knowing he was having such a great time. I would absolutely book with Jenn again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will genuinely love and care for their pet!

Jennifer is an amazing pet person! She gave treats, walks, and fun adventures the whole time my dog was with her. I had multiple photos throughout the whole stay, which was great since this was my forst time having my dog stay with a non-family memeber. I'm so glad i chose Jennifer for our first Rover boader!! I would definitely recommend her to anyone needing a dog buddy!!

Schedule

I stay at home with my 3 kids, ages 8-14, who go to school and various sports activities during the day, and I have availability for boarding, walks and day care daily. I have a 3.5 year old bernadoodle at home who is super friendly and loves to play with other dogs and be active, so we always making sure we get out to play fetch or go on hikes and walks throughout the week. I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and helping them feel welcome in my home.

Safety, trust & environment

I know that dogs are family and I take the trust that other owners put in me to keep their dogs safe and cared for very seriously. My dog Loki is very friendly and loves to play with friends- we have a fenced in backyard, and I make sure that he and other dogs with us get attention and exercise. There is plenty of water available and there are multiple dog beds throughout the house. I’m all about the details, and will adhere to your leash preferences, as well as feeding, training and night time routines- whatever you and your dog need to feel safe and secure. My kids also love to play and pay attention to dogs - we are a very dog friendly home! We always have a meet and greet with every request to make sure that it is a good fit for everyone involved.

Pets

A typical day

Days at our house include playing with various toys, balls and sniffing puzzles, as well as pets, cuddles and active time outside in our fenced in yard! I have a high energy dog at home so we always go out for one long walk or hike during the day in the mountains or in our neighborhood. We also do mini sniffing walks in the later afternoon and a “night cap” walk right before bed. Some days we will go to a park or field and throw balls or explore.

For boarders, please tell me about their history of how they spend the night at other houses- if they settle down ok, if they like to sleep in the same room as other people, and most importantly, what time they wake up! We like to sleep in until at least 7 am in our house, if possible, but we are happy to accommodate earlier risers. It is also helpful to know if your dog is a resource guarder with toys and/or food. I am always careful with this and I make a point to not give dogs in my care opportunities to fight over a toy or food with each other unless I know both dogs are ok with that- that they can just wait their turn with a ball, or that they can maintain a respectful distance from another’s dog’s food. Please tell me about your dog’s level of comfort in a home other than theirs- whether they are crate trained (not necessary- it’s only if your dog can’t sleep or relax without a crate). I also like to know if they like playing with other dogs, of any food allergies or preferences or medications needing to be administered, etc. We want to know what they like to play with, what treats they like, if they like to play in water or big open fields, etc. It is also helpful to know what their recall is like, and how they handle meeting other people and dogs when we are out and about.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
