“Wow! Ed has been just amazing. I came back from knee surgery and just wasn’t able to walk my dog . Ed has been so kind. Consistently prompt and incredibly dependable, Ed always was flexible when I needed a schedule flex. He offered really helpful insights for my dog’s aging (he’s almost 17), was always on time and so thoughtful. Ed even brought me a cookie and hauled my empty and full garbage cans to the curb and back! My dog really loved him and I appreciated the updates. I’ve so enjoyed having Ed’s assistance with walking and would highly recommend him for any help you may need with your pets.”

“Avery is reliable, professional, and friendly. She was helpful when I needed to make a couple last-minute changes to the booking. Unfortunately she had to deal with a couple unexpected challenges and she was a trooper about that. I will definitely ask for Avery again!!”

About: I've been an animal lover my whole life - growing up with family dogs, adopting my own dog after college, and subsequently acquiring two cats (through the cat distribution system, of course!). For the last two years, I have worked part-time as a dog-walker for a local professional company in Winston-Salem, NC. In addition, I have done house-sitting for friends and family while away, taking care of dogs, cats, fish, and plants! I am currently working part-time from home, with very flexible hours, leaving lots of room to provide love and attention to your pets while you're away! I have experience providing very detailed care to many different clients, from measuring ounces of water being given, to wearing shoe covers to keep a house clean, to waving a cat toy *just right* to entice a cat out of hiding! I pride myself on providing the best care, and EXACTLY what your pets need while you're away.
About: I’ve owned and cared for dogs and cats for as long as I can remember. From our neighbors cat who we invited to our birthday parties as kids, to the 3 precious dogs I’ve had the honor of being a mama to. Nash (weimer) left us in 2019 at 12 years old. We just said goodbye to Oliver (Puggle) in August of 2025 at 17 years old! And we currently still get to love on Riggins, our 10 year old Frenchie. With Nash and Oliver living such long lives, I have experience caring for all ages, from puppies to seniors. I work from home full time as a sales executive, so my flexible schedule allows me to step away as needed for care. I am also an early riser, so I am available to breakfast feed an walk early. My dogs are my babies, so I know the importance of having someone to rely on. If you need me to drop in and/or feed or give medicine, potty break/walk etc. at a specific time, I understand how important it is to not be late. If they need something at 3:30, it will be 3:30, not 3:45.
About: I have had dogs since I was 2 years old small, medium, and large. I have also helped my neighbors when they were out of town to care for their dogs. When looking after any animal I pay very close attention to the animals needs because every dog is different and I work to make sure they are comfortable and happy while in my care. It is important to me that the animals needs are met and expectations from their owners are met.
About: I have a special love for animals and have been relied on by friends and family for many years to help out with their pets when needed. I am able to take care of pets of any age or breed, but am especially good with senior care. I am available to come help out after 5pm during the week, outside of my other job hours, and am available all day on the weekends. We have a fenced in backyard at home for when we had dogs to let outside. We now just have cats, and spend time playing with them, cleaning litter boxes, and loving them.
About: I have been professionally taking care of all sorts of pets for over 9 years! I have worked in the dog daycare/boarding industry as well as been trained in CPR for dogs. I have experience working with all age ranges for pets, including young puppy to senior, as well as different temperaments. I truly put all of my care into looking after each and every pet, and make sure they received the best care possible. I have a flexible schedule and can accommodate most bookings in advance so please reach out for any pet sitting needs! I can also accommodate day-before bookings if my schedule permits. I do my best to show your fur baby as much love and care as they would get at home, my job is to make them comfortable and enjoy their time with me!
About: I grew up with a Shih Tzu (Scruffy) for 15 years and absolutely loved him. I’m very comfortable around dogs and am looking forward to getting my dog time in :) I also volunteer at the Twin Cities Pet Rescue as a supply donation coordinator. I have a full-time job Monday-Friday, so I am available after work around 4pm to walk your dog as well as anytime on the weekends. I live in a house with a nice outdoor patio, and I live by a variety of parks and walk paths. It is a very safe neighborhood as well.
About: I have spent lots of time caring for dogs, both my own and those of friends and family. As a firefighter and EMT, I’m calm under pressure, responsible, and dedicated to keeping those I care for safe and happy—including pets! I have experience with small and large breeds and enjoy giving plenty of attention and opportunity for exercise. I’m a full-time EMT and firefighter for the City of Minneapolis, which means I have unique availability and a passion for helping others—including pets! My 24-hour shift schedule allows me to be fully available on my days off, so I can offer flexible dog walking and sitting services to suit your needs. I’ve loved dogs and animals my entire life. I currently share my home in Shakopee with my wife, two daughters, and two small-breed dogs. I’m happy to care for your dog in your home, or if they’re child- and pet-friendly, they’re welcome to stay with us as part of the family! Experience & Trust • I understand the responsibility that comes with caring for pets, and I’m committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for them. • References and a background check are available upon request, giving you peace of mind while you’re away. I look forward to the possibility of serving you and your furry family members. As a firefighter I’m dedicated to safety and reliability, which are qualities I bring to caring for pets. I’m available for pet care in my home or yours, wherever they feel most at ease. I understand that all pets have unique needs and I can tailor my care to what you are looking for. Whether that’s long walks, free roam of the house or sticking to specific routines. My yard is fenced in and dogs will always be supervised. I am committed to providing the same trusted care for your pets that I bring to my community every day.
“Taite was very kind and communicative before, during, and after my dogs walk. She did an excellent job easing my anxieties with having someone else walk my dog. I have a very high energy adolescent dog and other people walking my dog makes me nervous but Taite’s calm demeanor and previous work experience made their first walk a great success. I will be booking with Taite again!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
