“Lindsey was amazing with our puppy! She kept us updated throughout the day with pictures, videos, and what our little girl was up to. I had no doubt throughout the day of what our puppy was doing or if she was having fun! Lindsey treated our puppy like she was her own! We will definitely be using Lindsey in the future! Our Finley girl loved her too!!”

“Elise was the perfect sitter for my high energy Malinois! Her dog and mine got along great and even got to go to the dog park together. She was very accommodating to my last minute request and early drop off/late pickup (0600-1700). Even after my dog had an accident due to starting her heat cycle (which Elise notified me of) she was still very friendly and helpful with updates and Barleys well being. At the end of the day my dog was exhausted by the time I picked her up and ready to sleep! I highly recommend Elise and would definitely trust her again!”

“Absolutely loved it! The dogs were so excited when they first got there, I was updated throughout the day and on top of that, my oldest dog wanted to stay! They were both tired when they came home and you can tell they were loved and cared for! She was quick to respond and I would 100% go with her again!”

“Katie was so great! Super easy to work with, excellent communication. I have long shifts at work needing to drop by dog off at 7am to 6pm for doggy day care and he seems so happy and safe with Katie and her family. Really good decision and so glad she is taking care of my pup!”

“Nicole was awesome! I needed doggie day care last minute, and she was available, it was such a wonderful experience! She was so flexible and my puppy loved her. He didn’t wanna leave! I will most definitely be using her again! She kept me up to date with pictures and everything I can’t thank you enough!!”

About: I have grown up with dogs since I was a baby. My family has had mutts, vizslas, and hounds. I currently have two dogs myself: a black lab mix and a hound mix. My dogs are one of the best parts of life, and I love them like family members. I am reliable and trustworthy, have my own transportation. I love dogs like family and I would be honored to care for your pets! I’m a stay at home mom right now with a baby so my schedule is open during the days. I can do drop ins and walks. I am not available for over nights. In a clients home I care for the pets by letting them out, feeding them, playing with them, and doing what the owner asks me to do. If they request to be walked I will walk them. I feed them and keep them on the schedule that the owner tells me to keep their routine as consistent as possible. I can also administer medication such as pills.
“They were amazing! I was nervous to leave my pups but they were so tuckered out when they got home and I know they took great care of them while staying there! Will definitely use them again when I need a sitter!”

About: When I was 3 we had cats in the house and a dog. As I got older we had more cats and dogs. I have always been around them. I currently have 2 labs & a beagle. I have experience with elderly dog care, puppy, administering medication & monitoring input and output. I do know how to clip dog nails & clean their ears as well as bathe them. I am a full time mom and I stay home with our 3 children. My children love to be outside so we spend a lot of time outside playing with our dogs. We have a fenced backyard - about .4 acres fenced in. We live in a development and go on walks with our dogs. We have built in dog crates in our entertainment center where dogs could sleep if needed. We also have a dog fence we could make a play area for.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
