“Melanie did an excellent job caring for my two cats for a month when I was away on a trip. I trusted that she would make sure they were OK. My cats know her from previous cat sitting visits and they like herI I enjoyed seeing their photos looking happy and healthy (they hide when strangers come in the house). When I returned everything in the house was great. She texted to let me know the litter had run out so I ordered a box to be delivered through Amazon. The two litter boxes were clean when I hot home, which was nice after a long drive and unloading. She also went above and beyond the call of duty by bringing my mail inside and taking the trash bin to the curb once. I highly recommend Melanie for cat sit!”

About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up caring for dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, and parakeets, and my mom bred and showed dogs, so I learned early how important patience, consistency, and attentive care are for every pet’s personality and needs. As an adult, I’ve primarily cared for cats and currently have a diabetic cat of my own. I’m very experienced with glucose testing and monitoring, administering insulin injections, recognizing and managing hypoglycemic events, and giving calm, compassionate care to pets with medical needs. I am a Wicomico county public school teacher this proving a clean background as well as a patient and caring demeanor. I cared for my own diabetic cat for 2 years so insulin administration would be no problem. Due to some unforseen life changes I have a new situation and temporary schedule. For December I have full availability for walks and drop-ins M-F. I have most weekends free but need bring my 2 children with me. Think about this summer when you are out having fun and have to rush home to feed or walk your pet. I don't overnight in my home or yours because I have four animals of my own. Sorry. I’m retired and have a very flexible schedule. Most any time of day . Night time in a well lit area is preferred for me I don't overnight here or at you home as I have to be here for my own pets. But I can spend the day .

If they are on a routine, diet or have special needs, feel less stressed knowing it will be done. I have a diabetic dog so I am comfortable with administering shots and understand the importance of schedules, dietary needs and alertness for behavior. All the fur cats and dogs are welcomed anywhere in the home and on furniture, including cuddles for naps. I love playing, loving and training. I’ve trained one of my fur kids (Bella) to be my service animal. And because every breed has their own DNA hardwire, I make sure I’m aware of their general habits. I am a full time FurMom and am the go to person when someone needs a sitter because I don’t have other commitments and I can stay home, walk, train and/or care. I have an enclosed backyard patio with some dirt area for the bathroom and concrete to sun bathe. I also have a roof top deck fenced in if it’s a nice day for sun and breeze. I live in a really dog friendly neighborhood and have 3 floors for stretching their legs. I have a spare bedroom for anyone to relax in and an indoor camera to see monitor I am at home full time to pet sit and am able to maintain timely health care, recreation, feedings for your loved furry loved ones. Everyone is welcomed wherever they feel comfortable and safe. I have a quiet room separately if needed and I let my dogs out every 2-3 hours for bathroom breaks and continuous refreshing water. For my cats, I make sure all their preferences are in order and litter is cleaned out daily. I’ll spend laser chase and smart games throughout the day.
